I rode this yesterday. I thought I would be scared of it but it's my favorite coaster as of right now. Still got ride TTD and a Giga-coaster but it's awesome!

Im so lucky because I live so close to Six Flags Great Adventure so I get to ride this awesome coaster when ever I want, But I will admit the wait is insane, at times you could wait 1 to 2 and a half hours but it's definitely worth it!
agreed! one time it broke down while I was on line. I was really angry.
Today wasn’t busy so it was like 5 minutes
or you can go half an hour before the park opens and rush to be first in line. thats what i do

On top of king da ka feels like you're sitting there for 8 seconds but in reality you are only up there for like 3 seconds
To any people that are watching this video and thinking I want to ride this but I'm scared of the drop don't be I can understand how some people don't want to ride this because they think that you will get that butterfly feeling as you go down and you don't get that here the drop spirals down resulting in you not feeling the drop the scariest part of this ride is just sitting on the track and waiting tom launch. Trust me coming from a gyt who's rode this ride 104 times and counting.
I haven’t ridden it yet but I can imagine based on what I’ve heard. My friend who’s a GP is worried about the drop. I’m gonna be one giant ball of adrenaline on the launch track. You know how books always talk about getting that metallic taste in your mouth from adrenaline? The only time I get that is on launch coasters.
exactly. and the wind pressure pushes you back and going up/waiting is scarier than the ride itself. I must say it feels a lot faster than it looks though.

Old ride computer and a lot of variables to consider for the launch speed at that height... sometimes it will roll back and sometimes it will absolutely catapult over the top
SlopedOtter It’s not because of the computer. It’s the weather. More wind equals a better chance of a rollback

Logan Forrest no they can’t. They can see what speed it’s going but cannot change it. Changing the speed requires a large chunk of maintenance

Me watching during Covid missing the fun times. Not only cause this stuff is fun but now that I think about it, it was nice seeing lots of families out there having fun. And now lots of families keep losing loved ones to covid.

FR i just went a few days ago and the drop was too quick for me too even be scared.
Literally I haven’t been on this but when they go super fast and suddenly its so scary and your air is nonexistent. I did V2 on SF great America and the “scary part” was how fast it was going bc you literally had no air 😭
This is more fun than it is scary. I literally closed my eyes at launch and when I opened them we were already at the top going down, and you don't really feel the drop much at all because of that little spin. I was wearing a headband and it flew off lol. But its such a rush and so fun we went twice :D

Dude. This thing is the best roller coaster i've ever ridden in my life. That launch at the beginning is so fast and sudden....coolest feeling ever lol. Although it was scary when did that thursdat because it was my first time. But there's nothing to worry about because it's not as bad as it looks. It's super fun but really really fast lol. Enjoy!

@@David-gj9qr i did. I don't think el toro is for everyone lmao. Except if you don't mind being thrown around like a doll and feel extreme intensity..and speed. El toro was my first ever big coaster so i had mixed feelings about it

I went to an amusement park a couple of days ago so I'm now watching this channel to remind myself of how fun roller coasters are. I really want to go on this coaster one day especially because my brother keeps on talking about how I just got over my fear of going on roller coasters and he went on this when he was younger than me

My dad got stuck up here for 2 hours, I was so scared I cried, I was worried he fell off because me and mom didn’t know what was happening, he won’t respond to my phone calls, and then he came down 2 hours later, and I was relieved!
That's so scary! I'm glad your dad is okay. Did they give you guys a refund or something.
Now how did that happen?
It looks terrific but it's honestly very uncomfortable and old. It breaks down multiple times a day, like once every hour. And the belts are very uncomfortable, especially if you're over 6f. You will get horrible bruises on your back and shoulders. Also the track is very bumpy/"rusty" so you will get a headache out of this world from it. Most of the coasters at Great Adventure park is very rusty and gives u a headache.

The launch on Ka is substantially more forceful than TTD. Considering the Launch is the best part of both rides I rank Kingda Ka as better than Ka.
Makes no sense, Kingda Ka is only 8 mph faster, the launch can't be "substantially more forceful" if it's about the same speed.
the launch time for Kingda Ka is shorter than on Top Thrill. Hence it accelerates faster. Top Thrill is 0-120mph in 4 seconds vs Kingda Ka's 0-128 in 3.5 seconds.

absolutely. I highly recommend Dodonpa if you can ever travel to get on it. and Formula Rossa. those are amazing. Even though Formula Rossa is even more of a belly dropping launch than Kingda Ka. the height of Kingda Ka makes it my 2nd favorite behind only Dodonpa. Top Thrill Dragster I'd say is probably 5th. if I can get to Germany to ride the new Taron multilaunch coaster it may blow all of the launch coasters I've been on out of the water. That and Karnan in Germany too I believe.

I would sooooooooooooooo ride this! It’s 134 feet taller than the fury but I would sooo ride it

they should put the little tree figure 8 tower they have on Cheetah Hunt at the top of one of these and have outward banks at 450 feet high, that'd be awesome and terrifying and add to the ride time!
I rode this two days ago for the first time (against my will due to my cousin) I winded up riding twice in the 4th & 2nd row lmao
I think I just rode it in a bad day, because I thought this was very shaky! In the end of the day, the roller coaster that I dreamt to ride since I was a child was one of the worst experiences I've ever had
i mean it might depend on what row you were in. Or if it was windy. I mean, i went on and it was kinda shaky but not that id complain about..
fave coaster ever. so far at least. then El Toro and then Nitro. and Bizarro in New England. can't say I've been on much elsewhere off the East Coast of the U.S. but with the flash pass I road Kingda Ka Nitro and El Toro and the other coasters at least 5-10 times that day and it was packed. so def worth the extra money. if a flash pass type thing is available that is.
storm runner, skyrush, fahrenheit, great bear, lightning and thunder. Those remain my favorites, and they're all at hershey.
Did you go on a good day? I'm a season pass holder so I know it could get crowed on weekends, except in may because I went last saturday and you could stay on Kingda ka with no line
He was there the day I went, there was nobody there, walk on for everything, with the exception of this because it was windy that day, so they had to stop it every once in a while.
+RADZADproductions oh when I went it was walk on for everything except Green Lantern and Superman, because the GP likes the idea of standing on a coaster for some reason
+jmiller .221 green lantern and superman always have a wait, they are parking lot coasters

carowinds is possibly getting a water coaster in 2017 by mack rides because it shows a water coaster lift hill on their wbsite and start flipping the arrows or clicking
I think that it looks scary but it has harness' that go over your head, But in "Hyperion" in Energylandia (which I rode btw) it has a one on your lap so in the highiest drop you feel at almost 90 degree angle like you are going to fall off. Which is FAR scarier.

Kingda Ka has the harness that goes over your head, which eliminates the fear. Top Thrill Dragster just has a lap bar, making it far move scary to ride. Therefore Top Thrill Dragster is BETTER!

go to Sfne just for Superman The ride and Wicked Cyclone. even though sfga is more polished, Sfne has the best hyper coaster and one of the best RMC coasters.
+Jude Demo Six Flags Great America is so much better. We have an amazing RMC and so many coasters that keep you busy all day.
Caleb Keithley true, but SFNE has probably the best RMC out there, a great floorless coaster, a fun spinning coaster and you can't forget Superman the Ride. But I see where you are coming from.

Great America has more variety to offer, since they have a wing coaster, flying coaster, impulse coaster, and a B&M inverted coaster, none of which SFNE has to offer. However, SFNE has arguably the best RMC, and a top 3 coaster in the world in Superman the Ride. Also, the Giant Boomerang is pretty damn sweet too. So, it's a tough choice honestly. =P

+Coaster Master I would rather have the airtime at the top compared to going upside down. Besides the cost of that would be terrible, because of having to redo the track and tower.
+RADZADproductions normally i would agree about airtime, but inverted top hats are so awesome that I actually would totally support the change. I miss The Chiller inverted top hat a lot. It had amazing hang time on the return trip.

AllThoseDonutz theyre thrilling, on kingda ka your stomach feels like ir goes all the way to your tongue on that drop, and on tdd drop it feels like your stomach racing through your body
