A lot of negative comments but this is the reality of the Australian ER. We are always at capacity to this day and need to get things moving to make sure people who need to be seen ARE being seen on time. A lot of people, from the orderly, to me a nurse, to the senior doctor could be holding things up, and we all need to be reminded. Everyone understands this.
People commenting on this obviously don't realise this nurse has chosen to take this job but it is a job description that wasn't chosen by her-she has to do the nasty job of trying to get people out of ER. That would be an incredibly difficult job. Without someone like her then emergency patients wouldn't get any attention in the first place. She is wearing those clothes because she has a job which doesn't include time helping with patient care. She isn't just sitting around, SuperCornic.
She seems like the In Charge where I work and face the same issues. The people who are commenting negatively about her needs to know that this is how you are seen as fast as possible in when you present to Emergency. She needs to puts pressure on some people to get things done faster. And communication skills? I see that the doctors are not approaching the charge nurse at all....
One of the few 'large' hospital-networks just built three new ER's. Plasma TV's - FREE Gormet coffee machine (staff & patients) - and at least one Rural/Metro or AMR ambulance to take the medicaid/un-insured/under-insured to another hospital...... If they send you home, they even 'task' the A.M. RN's with calling patients at home who were discharged the night before and asking them if they feel better or if they want to come back to be seen again!!! Socialized Vs. "Insurance Co. Jackpots"

What a nightmare of a woman. No offense.
I don't get why some people grow their nails that long. :s
You'd think she'd at least limit the "Bitchy" for the cameras!
wow she really needs to move her mouth more, smile and not talk so monotone. proper communication is a key skill for a good nurse. i would know :)
