Excellent video .Camera well placed to capture all steps during the rebuild accompanied with brilliant explanations as to what is taking place . Helped me a great deal when putting together my own 2013 carburettored Ural engine .
Nice video of Ural rebuild. I found a KMZ Dnepr imported from Ukraine right after the collapse of the Soviet Union. It only had 194 Km and was parked in a barn because it was very badly assembled at KMZ. It sat 27 years before I got it. It took everything apart, fixed or replaced bad part's, and reassembled it properly. It's actually a good reliable motorcycle now. Because it's not worth very much I drive it a lot. It's a fun motorcycle to drive and attracts a lot of attention every where I go on it. Some think it's a Ural but Ural owners immediately know it's something different.
Mine all seem to go at 10K, then last forever after a rebuild.... My avatar has over 100k on current build...but have had 4 new ones, 3 had lower end bearing failure and newest, not yet... Good luck, you now they all do that... ;-) Tip for your 2010, do not use synthetic oil in the transmission, it will seep past the seals! My 11 leaked like crazy when I did, switched back, all the seals started working again! Oldest Ural dealer in the US clued me into that one. I can't even use synthetic in the engine, seeps everywhere! New Urals do use Syn everywhere now, but not when our's were made only 10 years ago! Enjoying your videos, even if I can't understand most of the Russian!
After I got a KMZ Dnepr I watched a lot of Russian and Ukraine videos of people working on them. I don't know the language but being a mechanic I just watched what and how they were doing things. I made copies of tools they made which helped a lot. I had to grind out casting slag from inside the engine and gearbox cases and clean up machined part's to remove burs. I know reverse never worked because the pin didn't fit into the selector disk. The work done was very bad. All the valves in the head's leaked and all the piston ring gap's were all perfectly aligned at the top to make sliding the cylinders over them easier. Even the right head had never been torqued down. I guess the worker started the nuts on the studs, went to lunch, got drunk, and sent it down the line that way. No one noticed it only ever ran on the left cylinder for those 194 Km it was Driven after assembly and then me getting it after sitting in that barn 27 years.

Great video!
Do you know where the aluminum shaving came from?
From crankshaft bearing separator.
Do you have specifications to make special tools to install crankshaft and crankshaft timing gear, or place to buy tools
Hello, it’s sold here - www.ural.ca/content/motorcycle-k-tools
