The Virginians lights were always the best in downtown. So mesmerizing and beautiful. They were so cool to look at. Downtown looks nothing like this anymore. Now its catering to the bicyclists and those obnoxious scooters all over downtown.
Reno used to be las vegase's little brother, than it had a midlife crises and now reno is that guy trying to look cool, adding bike lanes, and building downtown urban apartments
I liked Reno when the train was not in a trench...when Reno was happening, don't fool yourselves, these days can't come close to those days...Cruse Virginia in the 70's, nothing better
I remember those days. I was like fresh out of high school. I wouldn't have been surprised to see myself roaming around downtown in the vid. I didn't tho!
Thank you I checked the website and volume 1 is north south route ( golden state route ) hopefully 2 volume is e to west route .good place to start thx for you response . Old stormy
I AM NOT FAMILIAR WITH Amtrak routes back then : F-40 PH. WAS BUSY THEN. ..seeing you are the most knowledgeable person on rails do you know about where I can see or buy video of ROCK ISLAND tucumcari east to Amarillo tx ?? In action ? I am not having any luck at all. Photos and video nothing but . Railroad ties and trestle with no crossings. # abandoned. Thanks MR FAIRBANKS. old Stormy.
Matthew Kimzey You might want to check out rockislandvideo.com They have a 2 part video on the Tucumcari line, part 1 is already released and they are promising part 2 sometime in 2015 which will cover the portion you are interested in. Good luck!
Probably the best video I have seen of downtown Reno's lights. And this is from a time when there were far more casinos downtown. Thanks very much for posting!
Best record of what we have lost
Love this thank you
Thanks for watching. I've always been fascinated by neon, this was one of the best I ever saw.
I used to live the hot august nights down there. (If you know, then you know)
This is valuable footage

The REAL Reno! Downtown was full of casinos of all sizes and styles, and you could eat and drink for little of nothing. Miss those days.

Well yeah, we have lots of people moving in cause of the Tesla factories we need more housing.
Just moved out of Reno. It has no direction. Not like most cities do.
I so miss this time period in Reno. It's really gone to hell since then
So cool👍👍👍
Great footage of downtown Reno back in '92. Lots of those casinos are long gone now, good to see them again. Thanks!
