SP in HO and on color movie film back in the day from our full length DVD "Historic SP Around the Greater Bay"!
When even local passenger trains had RPO cars, as in the opening shot.
Love these!
Like the heavyweight passenger cars in the first part. The Alton CA train depot looked nice. Really love the old train depots & stations.
And those old passenger cars rode so well on those six wheel trucks.
Fantastic! I'd love to have lunch at that trackside cafe.
We would do, what a great place to watch the action! Thanks for supporting our channel!
Hi, Charles! I'm looking forward to adding this DVD to my collection. Do you scan these films yourself? From 8mm film? I'm curious whether HD / 2K+ scans are on your roadmap. I'm a digital post-production enthusiast myself... =]
Cheers.
At about 1:50 - 1:55 whomever spotted the power and car fouling the turnout are in for call on the carpet.
Hi Charles! I don't know how old you are, but do old things float your boat like they do mine??? I love wood and steel kits. Do you think that there would be a market for steel that is photo-milled into a boxcar or a covered hopper, and put over a wood block that serves as an armature to get things fitted properly??? Kind of like a modern way of doing it the old way---know whud I mean Vern???
I seek out old 1950s Athearn and Varney metal freight car kits and update their construction. Almost 98 percent of my car roster is reworked kits or scratch built.
For a glimpse of metal cars and other kits I upgrade, check out this preview of my first of three model RR videos . Scroll down a bit for the video preview.
