Thanks for the helpful information, I needed this to put all of my games in a SD card I do want to get maybe an 128GB card due to me having over 50 games digitally
@@theelitedragon2xx sure, but the concern really is with switches dying. v1 switch eMMC chips are on the path to certain death. if they announce the eShop closing, I'd get a switch modded (or use rcm if you have a v1) and dump my games. at least if I had anything worth preserving others have not. (that cooking mama game that got pulled within hours is still missing, for instance). the ability to load up hekate also lets you backup your eMMC, so you could even get the one part guaranteed to degrade over time, the flash, repaired. not a trivial or cheap repair either, but if the data is lost and you don't have a dump, that switch is a lot harder to revive.
that's not nxdumptool seriously, this doesn't help, same with the 3DS, because the games on the SD card are encrypted with a console-specific key that is also reset when you factory reset. this console dies and your games are no longer preserved.
Well it's hard to preserve physical games nowadays too on nintendo switch due to the software required updates sure you can play them a few times before it says that but future reference we're screwed
Answer. Piracy. Problem solved.
I can't show that or else nintendo will sue me
I have 3 SD cards and 2 of them are the Yoshi 64GB cards they helped me on long card rides, thanks for sharing this content

You should definitely invest into that SD card it will help you in the long-term by having everything on your SD card at once

Right now I don't have any new codes but there will be new ones coming soon 🔜
How do I preserve physical games that won't let me play them due to software update problems? Mm?
i have something in the works
Thanks for the information & i will be doing just that and i have an 256GB card to use I'll have maybe around 80 games to play
That's my next investment the 256GB SD card the one with the mario star on it !!! I think it's going for 22.99 on Amazon as of right now.
@theelitedragon2xx that's cool because I've paid full price for mine and it was around $50
The Nintendo switch is your best bet for presuming the future with physical games it's just more safer than digital games
"a mandatory update is required to launch this software" oops
@ACuteAura think about it this way as long as you put the updates on the SD card it would work as an local storage

This is why you have and back up system with the same account & SD cards
Also if nintendo systems last a very long time tbh
