Its the fact Florida's laugh is actually Ben's real laugh for me. 😂
Considering he's from Florida, it makes too much sense.
This also got me rolling too
I just learned that tonight 😅
If you're a character in American history and your name is John Brown, you're guaranteed to be a badass.
And executed
Badass? Debatable. Crazy? Yeah.
@@eric_moore-6126 sometimes, being on the edge of sane, ready to fall into insanity, will get the job done.
JOHN BROWN’S BODY LIES A MOULDERIN’ IN THE GRAVE
JOHN BROWN’S BODY LIES A MOULDERIN’ IN THE GRAVE
JOHN BROWN’S BODY LIES A MOULDERIN’ IN THE GRAVE
BUT HIS SOUL IS MARCHIN’ ON
nah, its all one dude with a time machine
“A rowboat & a lot of anger” That’s really all you need to accomplish most things!
RI #4 blooper voice🤣😂🤣
"very British splash" I'm dead.
Yeah! I laughed my soul out.
I couldn't keep it together at that point
So are any of them that couldn’t swim
Gotta make one with Loui and Florida arguing who handled hurricanes better lol
Yes please.
While I basically agree that would be hilarious, I don’t believe the timing is quite right right now.
@@yorkie7624 wait what? We sitting with no electricity and we can't get comic relief? Damn Karen.
@@yorkie7624 I've lived in both states and I know who actually handles them better but it would be hilarious to see that argument.
@@yorkie7624 I'm in Louisiana, most of us still have no power, and yet we would still enjoy something like this.
I was born in Rhode Island and raised in New York. I heard this story from my grandfather all the time. This is hilarious. My wife seems almost upset with how hard I'm Laughing. Thank you so much man
"What a night it is to be alive and dry and in charge of a ship that is notably not burned down!"
YOU JINXED YOURSELF THE MOMENT YOU SAID THIS
You're telling me people went into the sea to set a boat on fire, and they weren't from Florida.???
.
*IMPOSSIBLE*
Gunpowder is very flammable, (And so is grog/rum/alcohol :P )
Course with gunpowder...flammable is putting it lightly.
Unbelievably there was a time when RI was basically the Florida of the country
Florida was not apart of America yet. Otherwise florida would be in on it
Someone had to be FL at that time, why not RI🤣
We also have a parade every year to celebrate it.
This is wicked awesome as my departed Grandmother was born in RI. It’s cool to learn something about her state.
An Australian admiral on a British ship. I love it.
More history, please!
Do one on General Knox’s cannons!
I am a history teacher, and I just covered this event in class today. Lol!
FYI first they got the Gaspee to chase a ship into Shallow waters were the British crew. inexperienced with Narraganset Bay got the HMS Gaspee stuck on a sand bar. then they gathered the men to burn her
Ah yes, there had to be one. Couldn't just leave the sketch alone as its.. wait for it.... 2 minutes long. That's really not that much time to have it be fact heavy. Just sit back enjoy his comedy and not try not be "that" guy that has to prove how smart he is ok?
Well....attacking people minding their own business because they might be inconvenient later and them burning their shit down IS appropriate for a place called Narragansett Bay I guess
Gonna add a quick second comment now that I've come back here. Tim, thanks for sharing some cool historical insight. You keep doing that.
So your telling me that another man named John Brown launched a raid that would lead to a pivotal conflict in American history. If you told me that the captain's name was Harper this would be to weird.
It was Dudingston. Which sounds way too fake but is real.
Wow, i was confused if it was a different john
@@Adamdidit okay, now I'm convinced this was staged by Time Travelers
the Gaspee was not a ferry anyway.
I think it was a tax cutter? Okay, Wiki says "revenue Schooner", so same meaning, just different name for tarriffs and slightly bigger class of boat ;)
😂😂😂 (Composes self, wipes away tears) Ok, but where’s the BTS footage of Ben attempting to tie himself to Chairforce One? It HAS to exist somewhere! I smell a Patreon perk!
Chairforce One? I applaud your pun.
@@calliewright2946 It probably won’t surprise you to learn that Ben named the chair; I just enjoy it so much I use it whenever possible.
The British accent caught me off guard lol.
Sounds more Australian to me…
I really had to think a moment to get what he was trying to speak XD
Is that what it was I wondered why it was full of Australians
Yes, the accent was from Sydney....Berkshire....lol
@@rekkariley652 I'm from Australia & I can tell you that is *DEFINITELY NOT* an Aussie accent. It's a 100% a Pommy (British) one.
I had to pause twice to compose myself so that my co-workers didn’t think I had finally gone insane. So glad Jeff made an appearance! 😂
I literally just finished watching this whole series. I love this series. It is so funny.
I love this. It made my day at work.
Fun fact, Rhode Island has a local committee called Gaspee Days Committee. They hold several events every year, but the biggest is the Gaspee Days Parade every June to celebrate the burning of the HMS Gaspee. I've participated in the parade twice.
Funnily, the parade is held in Warwick despite the Gaspee being burned down in Narragansett, about 35 minutes away.
Let's be real, no one from the northern half of the state would drive all the way to South County for a parade!
It was more than 12 minutes away. No Rhode Islander would drive 35 minutes.
Wait! You lot made a holiday out of torching a ship & chucking the crew overboard. ROTFLMAO! 🤣 You're all (Speaks in fluent Australian) nuts! Well Played My Friends, Well Played Indeed! 👏🙌👍
"A very British splash". Best subtitle ever.
Thanks for the laughs. We are dealing with post hurricane situations out here in Louisiana (neighboring towns/cities destroyed, limited gas to no gas: we are in recovery mode.) and its soo good to have a little humor. The accents killed me. Lol
Sending ♥️.
“Revengers… assemble” I CRY
That was the same John Brown that co-founded the Ivy League Brown University, one of the top medical schools in the country.
I see Florida Man tried to giggle his way in!
Poor Jeff never got to finish his sentence ;p;
Aww, I was hoping it would get mentioned how John Brown shot the captain in the balls
Nah he's gotta keep it PG or the RUclips censorship will swat him.
He did WHAT

Welcome to Rhode Island
(A very British splash) 🤣🤣🤣🤣
We legit made this a holiday up here in Rhode Island, too! 😂😂😂🤣🤣💀
Fuck yeah!
You lot made a holiday out of torching a ship & chucking the crew overboard. ROTFLMAO! 🤣 You're all (Speaks in fluent Australian) nuts! Well Played My Friends, Well Played Indeed! 👏🙌👍
@@itwasagoodideaatthetime7980 thats not the only ship that we sank. Just ask the german uboat near block island.
I love how the Florida chuckle shows up in the outtakes :) Another awesome video ♥
I crack up on the bloopers. Apparently everyone has a little Florida in them. 😆🤣😂🥰😍
"Go yell at them that they are dumb people from a dumb place."
-Admiral
ROFL.🤣
First time I’ve heard you chuckle outside of character lol Floridas laugh is your real laugh that’s awesome lol
"I'm gonna sink a ship"
I get that now
This British accent needs to appear in more videos lmao
The English accent has me! As a Scot...I approve lol
As an Aussie I'm mildly offended that some people in the comments are saying they sound Australian. No (Speaks several words in fluent Australian) way do they sound remotely like Aussies! 🇦🇺
@@itwasagoodideaatthetime7980 "Jeff" has an Australian cadence, and at times dips into the accent.
As a born and raised Rhode Islander, this is great
Nice accent on the Admiral and his crew.
Love it!
FINALLY! Some RI representation B)
I'm waiting for the table history on the other #based John Brown who tried to start a massive slave revolt
Bleeding Kansas.
He referenced in the episode “wait, what did I miss?” From august 2022. Kansas have that explanation for why they kept abortion legal.
As a future History teacher I'm using this
That last line, that would be a great line in a movie, whether at the end as a “to be continued” or before the credits, or at the beginning before the opening credits
Omg your British accents are freaking adorable 😂😂😂
Revengers assemble 🤣🤣🤣
You know I loved it really cool what was awesome though is the fact that you were in the Rhode Island the Boston and the Texas t-shirts I spent my first 20 years of life living in Providence and growing up in New England then I moved to Texas and lived there for 20 years lol but this is one of my favorite stories growing up he here when I was a kid also understand I was there for the bicentennial in 1976 that was a big deal in Rhode Island when I was a kid so thank you for an very entertaining version of that story you have a great day my friend
Your captions are the cherry on top of these videos
Jeff: Gets thrown overboard.
Admiral: That’s a bit rude ‘innit?
My favorite series
First Mate Pinky didn't have Admiral Brain to steer him in the right direction
🤣👏🙌👍
I’m surprised Ben doesn’t have a “Mobsters Lobsters” RI t-shirt.
As I native Rhode Islander who has lived her entire life in the "Gaspee" section of Warwick I applaud your efforts...and accuracy 😂
Very British splash is my favourite
Never before have the words “ Welcome to Rhode Island” been so menacing.
Great history lesson
Forgot to mention this idea to burn the Gaspee down was generated in a pub. Where all great ideas generate haha. They don’t even teach kids in RI anymore about the burning of the Gaspee. Damn shame.
Wait don't you all have a holiday celebrating the event? Least that's what everyone in the comments is sayin.
@@itwasagoodideaatthetime7980 yes we treat it as a holiday. Typically though, your average textbook doesn't include us, maybe a snippet (back when I was in school). If your family isn't into history then most likely you won't learn about it from them. If your family attends it or likes history, then you will definitely learn at some point. Granted, I had RI history class with a great teacher. That class was fun- but that was well over a decade ago; don't know if he still is teaching that one (probably is, depending upon interest of students).
It the Very British splash for me
this is fun innit
This is my brain going through all the pros, cons, and everything in between when making decisions
I appreciate that your florida laugh is your actual laugh.
I love the Florida chuckle
🤣👍 Man over board!🚣♂️🔥🕰⛵
*[a very british splash]*
John Brown's always have such historically charged lives in the USA, huh?
Omg this was SO funny. Loved it.
Good use of the coat that came with the dress blues
What is it about people named John Brown that makes them the greatest of mad lads?
BEST ONE YET!!!
God man he's hilarious and these are usually really, reeeallly great, there exceptional, excellent. But this one...this one towers above phenomenal. Its' comedy, as cartman would say, caused me to blow a funny fuse. 11/10. Damn thing was too good honestly.
This is great!👍
'I'm so sick of words in this sentence!'. Agreed!!!!
Yessss fire!!!
We need to throw some Rhode Island politicians in the Narragansett Bay. Maybe like all of them 😜
This is one of the funniest videos I've seen
This one and the last one about Nevada are particularly funny.
Dude my favorite part was “a very British splash”
History mourns, and is slight relieved, that John Brown didn’t live to create the uprising he wanted.
From RI myself, my Pa was best Friends with Henry Brown, descendent of John Brown. My dad's whole side of the family grew up in Gaspee Point in Warwick RI (beach community on the coast of where the Gaspee was burned). The Brown family still own land in Warwick RI to this day, only a couple miles away from where it took place. Cool vid.
Loved the accent regardless of who it may have sounded like!
It's official: Dick Van Dyke's accent in Mary Poppins is no longer the worst 'English' accent... You ranged from Aussie to USA, somehow managing South African on the way...
Still a fun vid, though - keep them coming!
I'm from Australia & I can tell you that is *DEFINITELY NOT* an Aussie accent. It's a 100% (although a very poorly done one) a Pommy (British) accent.
Please do one about oklahoma
Ben is the best 'british' person
XD holy crap. I loved this one.
Ben. Ben Ben Ben.. it’s roe-dylin.
LOL! Fantastic.
I'm surprised Florida didn't appear at the first mention of burning.
Florida was Spanish at the time. They didn't join the US till 1821, so they probably wouldn't have cared.
@@itwasagoodideaatthetime7980 your probably right. But the character he made for Florida is quite fond of burning things.
I don’t think I seen this one before lolololololl
Poor Jeff... and what was this accent? I´m dying XD
I think it's called 'channelling your inner Dick Van Dyke'. 🤣
2:52 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Tell me about the aliens
I am very amused that John Brown is wearing a Texas shirt when he's from Rhode Island in 1772
Rhode Island comes from what is now called Aquidneck Island. The full name of the state used to be Rhode Island and Providence Plantations.
*dies laughing*
Casey Kasem and one of the Animaniacs..
I live in Rhode Island. The shirts are 🤌🤌
The *Welcome to Rhode Island*
Your British accent could use some work. But you’re Boston accent is getting much better.
*Oy Issa revolution innit?*
Oh, man. I'm kind of digging how the British accent is just vaguely Cockney with a lot of "innit". Like the anime trend of giving quirky people weird sentence endings (believe it!). But I'd be curious to know how a British person would react to the accent. (Especially the English. Even odds an Irish or Scottish person would be chuffed to see the Queen's English good and mangled, I think. Sorry, Wales, you're there too.) After seeing the care and effort put into The Table, it was kind of a surprise how low-effort the British accent was.
if only history was teached in this format...
Do one about that time Vermont took down a fully garrisoned fort with 10 guys. Or that time we repelled the British by convincing them a group of islands in the fog were war ships. Ethan Allen kicked some ass. Don't fuck with Vermont or we will boil you in maple syrup
I'm tempted to say something like "Well that'd be a 'sweet' way to go". But I'm too afraid you'd sic Burnie on me.
*a very British splash*
RI was already pretty mad at England already. When we attempted to become friends with the natives and make true religious freedom they were mad at us so we became mad at them.
