I got this game about 4 years ago. and I love it with 5 or 6 players. with fewer players the tunnels and 'bump spaces' aren't as important. and I think there are better euro games with lower player counts. one thing missed is that on your turn you can trade with any other player. sometimes you might decide it's worth trading 3 gold for a teddy bear, especially if there's a faction already maxed out so you can get an instant star out on them on your next turn. and the turns are FAST place a die or retrieve your dice. you MUST pay attention or you will bog down the game. with 6 in my game group it goes 90-120 minutes even with one or two that are usually AP prone. with fast players you can easily have an hour or even 45 minute game.
Great review! This was my 1st real Euro other than Alien Frontiers. The game is very easy to grasp, but has deep strategy to be discovered. This is coming from someone who thought Agents of Smersh & BSG were very complicated. I tend to prefer Carcassonne & Flash point style games. The board is confusing, but halfway through my first game (PnP) it was easy & I moved on to discovering strategies. Played multiple 2 and 3 player games all of which 1hr or under & for me it seemed just as easy as AF.
dont think so. there's a FAQ or Eratta section on the publishers website which shows all the changes they made to various cards. many little rule tweaks and identical art
came here for an eroge review, left with a boardgame ordered from amazon.

This will be my first Euro game (besides Settlers of Catan).
Hopefully I'm not in over my head.
Great review Tom, you're just making the wait harder.
I backed this on kickstarter and love the idea. Thanks for the review!
My sister will be getting her own boxed copy this weekend, from me XD
i really enjoyed the anime adaption
I am SO GLAD I Kick Started this! I can't wait to get it!!
Jeez Tom you are a reviewing machine.
That lightbulb moment is a lot like Stonemaier's other game Scythe.
When I get a heavy Euro this will be the one.
What's the longest dumping the game on the table sequence you've ever had? This one gets my vote.
You should ship this to Ryan and see what he thinks since Euro's are his preference...
Played this for the first time today... Took me a while to understand it but in the end it was actually really cool.
Cant wait to get mine!!!

Love the theme!
I'm going to try this game with my friends today, this was a useful introduction. Thank you!
how did the game go??
That's a lot of pieces, but I like the cumulative theme.
Did the 2nd edition update the artwork?

Losing a die with a double six at the beginning would mean your INT level was 4, so I guess you should've been more careful with that.
Great review. I want this game so bad, but is out of stock. :(
I heard it coming for a reprint in February so keep your eye out!
thanks for the info.
red and yellow? the worst colour combo.
