Came from instagram. I am overjoyed in seeing this gathering of believers reading and responding to God’s Word. And, in regards to some Christians not being gracious, please pray for us all. Though you may not readily see it, there is rejoicing as you all strive forward in the race set before you. From those here and those above, that great cloud of witnesses from days past. Hold fast to God’s Word and count my prayers in addition to yours. God bless you guys! BTW you’re all cooked when you get to Psalm 50. I’m cooked, your cooked, we’re all cooked. Lol
David is my main inspiration as a poet who struggles with severe depression yet still loves God. I've often said that David wrote the "white girl depression" first, because of the verse where he says his bed is soaked with crying and his couch drenched in tears. But that's not something I say as a negative, sometimes it feels like the only reason I don't do the same thing, is because I run out of tears before my mattress is soaked. David is great for loving God while depressed

Ive just found you recently Bell and its fantastic finding someone that is kind and shares a faith with me, and one verse id like to leave hear for whoever needs it is Romans 3 specifically verses 23 and 24. Please go find it and read it yourself, but paraphrasing, all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, 24 and all are justified by his grace and redemption through Christ Jesus. All that to say, your past inst what matters , its what you are doing now, i feel sorry that not everyone can put the past behind them. Keep going stay strong
Question: When compared to versions like the KJV, what are the differences and similarities between the two? I've been fascinated lately by the different versions and how accurate they all are, so much so that I've been rather curious about reading them, though my go-to will always be KJV
So translations come in 4 different ways 1. Word for word That would be the KJV, trying to be as close to the original manuscripts as possible 2.Thought for thought That would be the NIV, trying to make the vocabulary and verbiage modern and less harder to understand 3. Paraphrase This is if I summed up the book of Matthew in a conversation 4. Secular This is scary because people try to add and take away from scripture , that be the passion translation or the Joseph smith translation A great video by Dizzy Disciple talks more about translations and why the passion translation is bad I think it’s called “ the most evil translation” Hope this helps
