Has become almost a St. Patrick's Day tradition. William James Nesbitt's charming Finten is the needed relief for us, the audience, and for his friend Micky O'Neil.
Thanks for sharing a great movie Paul, and the picture and sound quality is also very good which makes it even more enjoyable, seems to me like Blu-Ray standard rather than DVD. I thought that Ned Beatty was very convincing playing the part of Josef Locke, lots of great performances from the supporting actors too, overall an entertaining flick with the bonus of wonderful music. 👍
Great little film. Very much a cult film. Tara Fitzgerald's first acting job after leaving drama school. Great cast : Adrian Dunbar, Tara Fitzgerald, Shirley Anne Field, Ned Beatty, James Nesbitt, William Hootkins and David McCallum. Great story. Just a shame that Peter Chelsom has never sort of done anything as good as this since then. Sadly, the director's cut isn't available on digital media. I think it's only available on VHS.

james looks better now than he did back then but then as now tara was and still is stunning.
The trad music was genuinely great and the film was also great for anyone who remembers Ireland in the 1970s.
