In this video we leave the Italian Alps heading into Austrian Tirol.
We cross the Timmelsjoch Pass (Passo Rombo in italian) at 2509m with cloud at the top, low visibility and temperatures of 1 degree celcius (34F).
I ride until the toll and from there will be a new video.
Timmelsjoch is a toll road and one way for motorcycles is 15€ in 2021 while a return is €21. It is quite expensive, but these roads need heavy maintenance due to the harsh winters and that is what keeps the road surface good for us motorcyclists so while I would like it to be cheaper I accept that is a price to pay for good road surfaces.
Let me know in the comments what you think of the video.
More and more of you are asking me about gear and cameras so here is what I use:
    Cameras:
    - GoPro Hero 8
    - GoPro Max (360 Cam)
    - Insta360 One R (4K and 360 Modules)
    - GoPro ND Filter
    Sound:
    - GoPro Hero 8 Media Mod
    - Zoom H1N Portable Recorder
    - Rode Lavalier Microphone (with Deadcat)
    Bike Mount:
    - RAM Large Mount & Large arms

Thank you Vance for the awesome comment. It was perhaps one of the best days on the bike I’ve had. It was long and at the end I was tired but it was amazingly beautiful.

Thanks for the great comment Tony. Really appreciate it and glad you enjoy the videos. This was the first time I’ve videoed a trip like this so I’m hoping I will get better at it with experience. 😂 I don’t know your age but I once met a lady travelling alone in Portugal that was 76. I was amazed when she told me her age.

Thank you. Yes it is a super ride. From a scenic perspective I think is one of the nicest. Nice wide road too with good surface. 🔝

@Buddhima Nivantha I accidentally deleted your comment and there is no way to restore it... I still wanted to reply even if I'm not sure if you will see it. Yes that car did appear out of nowhere. Visibility was quite poor at the summit, especially when my glasses were fogging up too due to the condensation from the temperature difference.

Did this one time in North Carolina could only see 10’ in front of the bike. I turn around and went back crazy when you cant see anything on a bike.

Yes it wasn’t absolutely terrible visibility but yes that coupled with the low temperature and snow the night before I was worried about the road surface ice. Especially because it was off season and the road gritters weren’t operational (as far as I could tell anyways). Last thing you want is to catch a patch of black ice with a 1500m cliff drop by your side. 😂 😂 Part of the reason why I aborted the Otztal glacier road which was also involved in cloud and at higher altitude.
