Thanks, Foad. There are still a few of us left :) welcome to the club. 80s was the best time to grow up to love guitar...There were so many unique, great players, all came out around the same time. I am only scratching the surface of it so far
sonnyrocker The 80's was the ultimate decade for music! You had everything from Wham and Culture Club to Anthrax, Megadeath, and Motorhead and everything in between, all happening at the same time! It's probably THE most eclectic decade of music ever! But virtuoistic hard rock guitar was at the forefront of it all! At least in my mind it was! You play SO many of the songs I played back then. Some of which I had forgotten until I saw them in your list. Anyway, it's always good to converse with like-minded individuals. Take care and never stop rockin'. Peace. :< }
I know I’m super late on seeing this video but I had to comment because your the only person I have seen explain the album tuning!.. very helpful since I’m trying to cover this and wondered why it sounded off…….Aside from my mediocre playing 😊. Thanks dude !
+sonnyrocker Yes same here. First album was almost like an EP. High n Dry had a more complete song structure. The band definitely had come together more for the second release.
Great lesson, Thanks so much! I'm struggling with a solo from Kingdom Come Do you like it. I got most of it, by watching covers, but I can't get some of it. I can't find even 1 instruction on the solo. I'm SOS in need of help here, wonder if you can help me out. Pretty easy to play song, but can't quite get solo. PLEASE PLEASE HELP! Would be most appreciated! 😁
+MoreMetalRemains Thanks, moremetal. You can probably find the tab on Ultimate-guitar.com But if you listen to me in the video, I call out every single note of the chords unless it is just power chord, so it should not be a problem for you to follow the video.
+sonnyrocker jeez... I am a fools fool. I never made it past 2:00. did not realize you went back over all the parts later in the video. my apologies and thanks so much for responding!
Btw its not actually the tuning, that messed with me for years, when they recorded it they slightly sped it up and it messed with the tuning, just a fun fact.
Thanks, Kevin! Well, the Cort M600 itself is a great sounding guitar, nice tone and good sustain. I run it directly into my 100W Marshall Valvestate head through a 12x4 Laney cab, and that is it. Everything you hear is from my amp, picked up by the web cam mic.
@@johncecilia4517 thanks, John. It's just Marshall 100w Valvestate Head with 4x12 Laney cab loaded with celestino speakers. Recorded with the logitech webcam, that's it.
@@johncecilia4517 Treble 80, Bass 80, Mid 70, reverb 80, gain 90. The pickups are the ones that came with the Cort guitar. I think it was a cheaper version of the DiMarzio pickups.
It's nice to see someone with an appreciation of classic 80's guitar rock! You cover SO many of my favorite bands and songs! I love it!

Hi Stephen, you are welcome!
Good stuff! Thanks for the lesson. First 3 albums by these guys were the best. Just my opinion anyways.
+MrOldnslofly I totally agree with you that the first 3 are the best. I like High N'Dry the best
+sonnyrocker Yes same here. First album was almost like an EP. High n Dry had a more complete song structure. The band definitely had come together more for the second release.

11:30 solo
any possible way to get tabs? I am having a hard time seeing some of the chords and can not read music. much appreciated, great video

+MoreMetalRemains you are very welcome, MoreMetal. :) Thank you so much.

A lot of bands did that in the 80s.
man your setup sounds awesome ! what are you running for gear?
Thanks, Kevin! Well, the Cort M600 itself is a great sounding guitar, nice tone and good sustain. I run it directly into my 100W Marshall Valvestate head through a 12x4 Laney cab, and that is it. Everything you hear is from my amp, picked up by the web cam mic.
Это бессмертный трек!!!!!!!!!
hey dude thanks for the tutorial. one quick question... how sharp does def leppard play in this song? half step? quarter step? thanks and rock on
hi Chase, thanks for the kind words. just slightly sharp. not even half step. it is still in E, but a little sharp
+sonnyrocker Awesome man thanks
Chase Watkins you are welcome, Chase. Try to set your tuner to 441 - 442 instead of standard tuning of 440.
My tuner uses dots, not numbers. 14 dots between each half-step
+Chase Watkins then move two dots over to the right
Great sound, what amp?
+Art Sal Marshall Valvestate 100w with Laney 4x12 cab

@@sonnyrocker Cool,
I have a Valvestate 2x12 combo but sounds different from video. Their fun amps to play
