I saw an interview with Phil Taylor who said he had know doubt Adams could have won PDC events .
Wolfies a legend, would've won even more dare I say it if he wasn't so nice in temperament. When he's on form though he's top class.

i met wolfie a few years back and he is such a lovely bloke. glad that he won the bdo before it went to pot.
Obviously the PDC won’t even allow Martin Adams to go to Q-Schoo at this point.
Taylor would wipe the floor with him when he was at his best. Phil Taylors prime was on another level the records and darts averages dont lie. Adams was a good player but a bit of a bottle job, and was a 95-100 avg player at best, For me its just a shame how watching Taylor losing against nearly everyone he would of normally wiped the floor with.

Adams played in the 2001 PDC World Matchplay and World Grand Prix and Taylor did wipe the floor with him. He reached a semifinal and quarterfinal which is pretty good.
@@LucifenaQuinnhow is what i have said bs, its facts to anyone with any knowledge. As was said when they met in 2001 in the world matchplay Taylor beat him 17-9.And Taylor wasnt even at his best. Taylor is a huge reason why darts is as big as it is today, When the PDC first formed there was an argument the BDO still had the better players, But Phil Taylor carried the flag for the PDC. They even matched up world champion vs world champion 3x, where Taylor destroyed Bernett, Fordham, and Barney proving he was the best in the world, so the thing is people want to watch the organisation with the best player in it, And the averages dont lie he still hold a lot of records like the 110 average in a world final. He was posting 110+ averages when it was a hell of an achievement for players to be hitting 100. He would still be wiping the floor with them all today if father time didnt catch up to him, because during his last ever season knowing he was going to retire he went on to win the 2nd most prestigious darts tournament in the world matchplay followed by being runner up in the world championships, beating Van Gerwen in the matchplay and grand slam. He is the goat there is no debate, Martin Adams was a great player but not on Phil Taylors level. thats a fact.
It’s great for every senior player to feel the long awaited victory against Phil Taylor. What people don’t understand is that Phil Taylor was the best and the highest level consistent player there ever was during his time before his retirement. All of that high level stress and retired at I dare would say at the oldest retirement age of pdc just took a toll on Phil Taylor. It’s no doubt at all that Phil taylor deserved that rest + he took a break before coming back to seniors lol. If Phil didn’t take that break from years and years of hard stress then play seniors, it would’ve been like playing in the little leagues for him.
I think Adams is a good bit older than Taylor. Anyone know? Of course, both have medical issues.

Great bloke and really good player,but when he was at his peak let's be honest he didn't want to test himself against the best,he was in his time the best of the worst and I mean that not in a disparaging way just an honest way.

@jonahehlers1673 Honestly mate I am in no way shape or form knocking the man,unbelievable career,but he didn't want to step up with the big boys,as I said a really nice guy,meet him years ago at the Scottish open and couldn't have been nicer but lets be honest he would have been a quarter or semi finalist at best in the pdc,you might disagree but the problem is we will never know,horrible to say but it is better being the top of a bad lot than bottom of a good lot.
Phil said himself that Martin was in the top 3 players in the world at his peak
@liamreilly3873 Yep but the truth is he wasn't,I'm sorry he was a good player but I honestly think he would have struggled to be in the top 10 in the pdc at his peak,but we will never know and that's a shame,still had an amazing career in the bdo,so no one can ever take that away from him,but as I said you're better being the top of a lot of mediocre players than the bottom of great players.
