Text by Maggie Wilkinson
I. My heart; a bleeding paradox.
More love to be given when
there is no one to be held by.
I gave you keys to all the rooms
I learned how to survive in. Alone
turned into lonely by the window.
I sit still, where you would
look if you wanted to find me.
II. Slowly, I return to someone
I have not been in a while.
I do not know how to care for
this breathing body, I brush
her hair and bathe her in oats,
but she still weeps. Speechless.
Is there a word that means I
understand and I will claw my way back
to you, just give me time?
III. The ceramic breaks on the kitchen
floor. Gift for the second Christmas.
Kiss in front of the fireplace. Used to
be warm. Used to be. Your mother said
I was her favorite. I do not miss you
but I miss the days I thought I would.
IV. Bravery is a fistful of pebbles and
my body is the bottom of a river.
The last dozen times I told you
I loved you it was not a lie but it
was not the truth either, I wade,
barefoot, in the enormity of my
existence. Tomorrow will bring
cooler days. I wonder how many
must pass before my heart
surrenders to the frost. - Видеоклипы
