I visited Kisumu in 1977 and stayed for a month at the New Kisumu Hotel (does it still exist?). I was impressed then and I am more impressed in 2022.

What is now Kisumu Hotel was known as Hotel Royale back in the seventies. It's still there and is now owned by Maseno University. Some major renovations were done after the acquisition by the university.
