@@richardsimmons6470 No, it has not. Literally the only thing updated from the partworks model is the brass plates around the hull portholes. Everything else is like the partworks, even the deck planking is the same: wooden sheets cut up in portions small enough to be able to fit in a plastic sealbag with the magazine.
Looks awesome! Didn't know a combination of wood and plastic/resin exists. Is this basically the same kit as the Hachette/Agora one with a wooden hull instead of metal? Also do you think this one is more or less detailed than the Trumpeter 1/200 Bismarck?
Yeap it's a little bit from everything LOL and yes it's the same Kit Amati made for Hachette with, I think , some small improvements . As far what I have heard, you need to buy the expensive Detailup Kit for the Trumpeter Bismarck to make it more realistic and with that the Amati Kit is much cheaper
@@davaoshipmodeller Did some picture comparison and it seems that the Trumpeter + detail kit is just a tiny bit more detailed than this one, especially with all the photo-edge parts from the detail kit. But it's also around 100 euro's more expensive. That said, this Amati kit is doing a great job in detail, but is a lot more work (and fun in my opinion) for building the wooden hull! What's your experience till now with this kit?
@@Maikel098 that might be right . As always it's a decision of personal preference if you go for Wood or Plastic . Up to now I am very surprised regarding the Amati Kit , it went together very easy and quick since the Hull Shape is very simple . until now I've encountered only tiny Problems which come up on every Kit . nevertheless I am very interested to do also bigger Plastic Kit in the Future ( especially the Trumpeter 1/48 Scale U Boat ) . Happy modelling, John
Hi, I am a new subscriber to your site. I watched a few videos and quite enjoy watching you build the wooden ships which I am interested in also. Thank you for your expertise which while watching you work is obvious. One question I have which will help me decide what glue to use in each application is which glue do you prefer when planking a wooden ship’s deck and hull? Yellow carpenter’s yellow glue or white glue or cyanoacrylate (super glue)? Thank you sir. Jim Semertzides
Thank you for subscribing James . for gluing the Deck Planks I use white Glue ( PVA ) because he will cure transparent , different to the second Layer of Hull Planks ( if required ) , for that I use Super Glue ( CA ) because it safes a lot of Time and is in my Opinion the cleanest solution . If you have more Question , feel free to contact me . Happy modelling
without a doubt the most detailed, accurate model available. I built this as a partwork years ago.
Fantastic, I hope you enjoyed it
this is much better than part works its been totally updated
BUT why so much detail in everything but the Funnel Upper is really sparse
