Can maples adapt to growing like vines? I've tried my best to look up what's happening, but I have a maple that by chance took root under my deck, but when it hit the stairs at about 5 feet, it started to VINE. It's crawling around the ground underneath the deck, it's crawling over the wheel barrow, and the tip of it hangs limply over the edge of the wheel barrow. I sincerely think it adapted to growing like a vine, in order to survive the harsh environment under my deck. I think it's a norway or sugar maple, as it has 3 points with rounded edges, and one little point at the bottom of the leaf, on either side, like a norway, and it also truns yellow and brown during fall. It's so weird though; I really think it adapted to be a vining plant, but I've never heard or seen anything like it, and I can't find anything about it online at all. Do you anything about this?
Jenna Young Hey Jenna👏🏾 You know what, this question came just in time because I will be heading back to the Maple tree Farm this weekend. I will take your specific question to the co-owner and expert of those trees and he should have a direct response for you. Make sure you subscribe to my channel and hit the notification bell, if you haven’t already. I should have the video up probably within the next week or so. So be on the lookout for the response. Thanks for your question.
I was actually surprised by how much dry “stuff” you got out of there as it certainly wasn’t visible from the outside! I love Japanese Maples, so glad yours just needs a little more water. Thanks for sharing 😊
Me too! I thought that it rained enough here in the area for me not to have to do too much babying with the water. But I see that I will be increasing the amounts. Glad that’s all it was.
This is super insightful! I'm really glad it was just a dryness issue and nothing more serious. My mom water's her plants every night, you may have to create a regular "watering" schedule.
I have 2 Japanese maples in my garden - one is by my Japanese rock garden pond section and I love it to bits! The other one is recovering from a bad pruning job I did ont 4 years ago when I didnt know any better. Yish I'd had info like this bcak then. Thanks for sharing!
Thnx Andrew! Glad I made you smile. I figure it’s enough gloom in the world so why not try to have more fun. Please consider subscribing, if you haven’t already.
Always love your energy and camera presence, you're so fun to watch. 😀 I can tell how much time and effort went into this because you started with the sun up and the end it was night! Glad you found a solution, such a beautiful tree.
Thnx Ermin. It was so hot that day that I waited until way later in the afternoon (cooler) and it just kept rolling on into the evening. So, I like to just get it all done and over with so I kept going until it was completed. I’m glad it was a simple fix. Thanks so much for noticing all the hard work.😀

Love your channel, new friend here! Nice video so many people have this issue. They are so delicate needing water on the roots like the tree Doctor said. Japanese maples dont grow well here in Florida . I sure wish they did. 😊👍❤
Yae! Welcome in! I am so relieved that’s all the problem was. Gonna be sure to pile on the water (without flooding🤣) I could imagine~Florida sun would bake and fry the poor tree.😀Thanks for watching and engaging!
Yes, beautiful & unique tree for sure. Well, I usually just water every other week or so but it seems in the summer (drier weather), I need to increase that amount and ensure it gets to the roots. Definitely taking advice from the tree expert I spoke to.
I was told not to remove the dry leaves. They should fall off naturally because removing them will damage the growth of the bud for the replacement leaf.
No sweat. You got this. These trees are resilient! Water water 💦 in between branches too. That was part of my problem. Make sure the trunk area is free from debris/mulch. You got this! Thnx for subscribing!😀
You are over grooming your poor tree. You should only trim off dead branches and what is lying on the ground.you are taking too much off the top, saw in another video where you were cutting way too much off the tree. It’s dry in there because it needs water, but also needs a lot less grooming. Good luck, hope it lives.
Hope it lives?? Really??? My tree has been thriving since I inherited it over 17 yrs. ago so thanks, it’s “living” just fine. Thanks for the view & your comment.

Yes, it’s so lovely.

Nice tree I hope it gets better soon.
Me too! Thought I was safe since I live here in the Seattle area with all the rain. But, I guess it takes a little more than that. Lesson learned.
Great vid very informative...AMD especially luv your INTRO
Thank you! Glad you liked it! 👋🏾
What a beautiful tree. This is my first time seeing a Japanese Maple Tree. How do you determine what the correct balance of water/moisture is?
Yes, beautiful & unique tree for sure. Well, I usually just water every other week or so but it seems in the summer (drier weather), I need to increase that amount and ensure it gets to the roots. Definitely taking advice from the tree expert I spoke to.
Great video. Thanks :)

Probably a good idea, but I had so many dry leaves, it was blocking everything on the tree. Lol.
My tree has no leaves on it, it is kind of a large tree, the bark is falling off. Is there anything I can do before my husband cuts it off
Uh-oh! Let me ask a tree rxpert this weekend & get back to ya. Ask your hubby for a week extension.🤗
Good job
Thnx so much! Don’t forget to subscribe, if you haven’t already.😀
very enjoyable
really like your content
let's stay connected
Good thing the tree is not in jeopardy and only needed water as a solution.
You’re right about that! #hugesighofrelief
I'm gunna try watering more but it looks very sad.

Bet its overwateered. Randomly drying leaves is overwatering
How is your tree doing?
It needs a major pruning right now. Huge!!!!!
3’30!
Thanks for watching😀
