Blessed are the gentle, for they shall inherit the earth.
I've discovered the only thing greater than Dave Allen's humor is watching you laugh in delight to it! 🤣
Totally agree with you there.
Seeing someone watch it for the first time and enjoying their reactions is the nearest we can come to watching it for the first time again ourselves
Yes, so much of her is having a good time.
Wow. Almost scary. But actually, nice, and infectious.
That’s true watching her laugh was a spiritual experience‼️😊
Dave Allen was one of my favorites, he had a weekly show on TV here in Australia in the 70s and 80s.
I wish you were a feature in all my comedy dvds. Brilliant!
Dave Allen at Large was compulsory viewing when I was growing up. His sketches were as good as his monlogues. This 15-second gem stuck in my memory: ruclips.net/video/BkIT0umjPtU/видео.html.
And while we're on 1970s Garden of Eden jokes - What were Adam's first words to Eve? "Stand back, I don't know how big this thing gets!"
Fantastic reaction
honestly i have seen all of your reactions and its so nice to see you laugh so much ....- please react to 'The Four Yorkshiremen' trust me - you will love it
He was a comic genius. Were he still with us, I honestly think that he could tell a joke about any faith, including Islam, and even Muslims would be laughing.
I doubt it to be honest. Dave would be living with a Fatwah on his life just like all the others who speak out against that cult!(:
@@1wannabee1 That would not have stopped him.
@@OneAndOnlyMe I never said it would have. What I said was, that the followers of that ideology would have threatened his life and also possibly his families. (its what they do!)
@@1wannabee1 Sure, but so what. The world is full nutcases.
@@OneAndOnlyMe The term 'nutcase' infers that a person does NOT know that he is doing wrong. The followers of this ideology 'know' that what they do is wrong, but 'believe' it is 'ok' to do because they have been 'told' from day 1 that it is the will of their God.(HUGE difference!!)
You won't get him, Dave died a while back. RIP.
my mom loved him
I don't think you should watch any more of Dave Allen - I worry for your breathing!!!!
Lol!
LOL!!!!😆😆😆😆😆😆
I think it'll be a while before anything gets another laugh like that last one. It's joyous!
I grew up in an Irish American Catholic working class family. My father was a good catholic and a good father but he used to get the biggest laughs from Dave Allen. Dave is quite funny and takes some good natured and non offensive jabs at the church. One of our local UHF stations carried his show every night and brought him much happiness. Your reaction took me back to some of the best days of my childhood.
David Huber, WTTW in Chicago used to air Dave Allen At Large almost every Sunday night, usually preceding Monty Python's Flying Circus with the opening announcement: "The following program, "Dave Allen At Large", contains comedy sketches and jokes which may be unsuitable for younger and more sensitive viewers". Great stuff.
Dave Allen is my all time favourite Comedian ... such an intelligent comedian who told such great stories.... He was rarely on tv but you would huddle around to watch him when he was. RIP
Him and Billy Connolly for me
@@chrislyne377 yes another great story teller. Billy was my father's favourite comedian.
He had a weekly show for a couple of years in the UK. I think he did more TV in Australia from what I've read about him.
It's so nice to see someone really appreciate and understand what made me laugh so much as a kid... You ROCK!
Not seen this in years. The worlds funniest man with a missing finger!
The funny thing was, despite being an atheist, Dave would sign off his show with the words "Goodnight, and may YOUR god be with you."
He didn't believe, and he lampooned the Catholic Church in his sketches, but he respected people's right to faith.
Spot on Tom. Tolerance is what it's all about, which is which is why I loathe intolerance.... ahem, if you get my meaning.
@@nigewood4945 Pretty sure i do Nige 😉
Well it could be taken that way, but it could also be taken to mean "good night and take your bloody God with you.", i.e. feck off all you God botherers. I suspect that's how he really meant it, but being a mischievous wee fella made it deliberately ambiguous.
Me personally? when he said them words? he was pointing out just how rediculous and pathetic 'all' religions are. (and he was spot on too)
Apart from one time! One week he did no religious jokes or sketches, and got letters of complaint! so the next week he did nothing but religious jokes and sketches. At the end of that programme, he said "Tonight I think I'd better say, Good night, and may my god go with me"
ps, having read the other comments: I never took it as an insult to the audience. To me he was saying, May whatever god you believe in comfort you
This was an amazing reaction, I love seeing how hard these jokes hit you. Great stuff as usual, thanks for the laughs after a long day of work.
Your laughter is golden!! I adore Dave Allen but your laugh made me hysterical! 😘🤣
Hysterical!!!!!!! Love your laughing!
I miss this show. It's been ages since I've seen Dave Allen.
Same.
As a little kid grew up seeing Dave Allen, Pau Hogan and the Two Ronnies and they were all awesome fun for a kid in late 70's.
I used to love Dave Allen so much. Being allowed to stay up late on a Saturday night to watch him in the early 70s was such a treat.
I used to love watching Dave Allen, especially when he did his ghost stories. They'd lower the lights, put a spot on him and off he'd go with a spooky tale.
O,M,C! that sooo takes me back. :)
I grew up enjoying Dave Allen's humour. I am so glad that i did. To enjoy another hilarious graveyard sketch, see Smith and Jones Grave Sketch.
Filmed in a small Hertfordshire village called Aldbury and the great thing is it looks exactly the same today as it did when the sketch was filmed in the 70s. You can visit the pub by the duck pond and the churchyard where the sketch was filmed.
Dave Allen was originally from Ireland. I think his family name was Mahony or O'Mahony! A true class act. Rest in peace, Dave, and thanks a million for all the laughs 😃. Love your reaction. God bless from Ireland 🇮🇪 🙏 ☘😅😂🤣
O'Mahony, yes.
The 'black cat in a dark room' joke is the most succinct, perfect encapsulation of religion. Absolutely skewers it.
I personally think the line he finishes his act with, 'May 'your' God go with you', says it all about religion and the insanity of them.
It's a delicious joke.
The one he sets up with "god sees that Adam is happy.."
It's genius. 👌🏼
“We still do...shhhhh I’m catholic “ brilliant 😂🤣😂
Thanks hun my dad loved Dave , I used to watch his show with him whenever it was on tv
Grew up watching both Dave Allen and Benny Hill ... Classic!
Thanks for sharing this. I laughed so hard with you my side was hurting.
Absolutely loved watching you lose it to Dave Allen. Such a great laugh! Subscribed 😂
Glad you enjoyed
I love Dave Allen and remember sitting and waiting for him to come on TV, my girls knew not to disturbed me until his program was finished. Watching you enjoy him and your honest and unabashed reaction has been a joy to watch.
The cat joke is so profound, but the bishop's shoes one is soooo good.
Please explane the black cat joke. In the Netherlands we say, het kwartje valt niet ( the penny does not drop) 😄
@@Maya9396 Not sure if it is a UK saying, but the implication is the man will never find the cat because it doesn't exist. Yet the pope claims to have found the cat, god, despite it not existing.
Your reaction alone forced me to subscribe...such joyful genuine laughter...I laughed at your reaction as much as i did at Dave Allen!!
Look at Dave Allen Telling The Time, it's fantastic x
Yes that is a hilarious clip. He was a genius.
Yes the third hand is the second hand
@@davidpickford515 one and two do not make three lol.
I've seen all these before when I was young but I am sitting here laughing so much at your reaction to the great Dave Allen lol. These are from 70's and 80's. Best comedian that ever came out of Ireland.
I don't know what was funnier; Dave's jokes or Sincerely's reactions.
I remember watching Dave Allen with my Grandad when i was a child, we were both rolling with laughter, this brings back so many memories.
I absolutely love your reactions, your laugh is the most genuine thing on RUclips....
Lol - best reaction ever. I've been watching your reactions (mostly music) for a couple of years now, and this was absolutely priceless.
Love Dave Allen, him George Carlin, and Chritopher Hitchens were three that helped me realize being an Athiest was fine.
I agree but Hitchins was NOT a comedian! (far from it)
My favorite Dave Allen joke: The Catholic Priest and the Church of Ireland minister greeted each other daily as they road around the parish on their bicycles. One day the priest sees the minister walking up the road. “Where’s your bike?” he asks. “I don’t know," he said. "I think it was stolen.” The priest said, “Here’s what you do. Next Sunday preach on the Ten Commandments, and when you get to “Thou shalt not steal, lay it on thick. If the thief is in your congregation, he’ll surely return it.” A few days later the priest sees his minister friend riding up to him on his bike. “Did it work? The Ten Commandments? Thou shalt not steal?” “Not exactly,” the pastor replied. “When I got to “Thou shalt not commit adultery,” I remembered where I left me bike.”
I was just a kid, maybe 15 when I discovered Dave Allen on PBS. He was the funniest, cutest thing I'd ever seen. Instant fan. These reactions are a total hoot.
I’m glad you enjoyed Dave Allen, he was a favourite of mine. I was honoured to meet him once and can truthfully say he was a lovely man.
(laughing away here). KSO? I've watched quite a few of your reaction clips and I can say, hand on heart, I have NEVER seen you laugh soooo much and soooo hard as you do here. I liked the way you were ahead of Dave when he was telling the story of Adam and how and 'why' God made Eve!!(you know what I'm talking about I think!!) :)
Well, your laughing is more entertaining than the jokes. :-)
Love your sense of humour - I've seen Dave Allen's religious jokes many times before but your laughter brought it all back - I nearly cracked up !
I loved your reactions! As a specs wearer myself, I know how hard it is to laugh so much - but Dave Allen will do that for you
Watching you lose it in tremendous laughter is a show in itself !! 👌🤣🤣🤣🤣🤪 That's a compliment KSO 😁
@SCENE'crly, K.S.O. Please react to "Dave Allen on Religion" it's the second one and the best. It's on the channel Brian Darling and has over 2mil views. It is even funnier than this one and is taken from the Dave Allen standup show that ran for years. You will love it. 🇬🇧👍😊
My 1st wife was Catholic and all I heard was I was going to Hell and they were going to heaven cause once born a Catholic always a Catholic and it did not matter what you did with your life. Always though that was funny. LOL
Yep. Sadly there are many a family who have been torn apart due to religion. (:
Ok, it is clear now (after about 4 of your videos) that you are the life of the party even when you are alone!
Awww Hunni.. lol.
You have to realise that unlike America the UK as a whole is not religious,We moved on.
He was our greatest ever comedian, thank you for showing.
I'm sure I could walk a hundred miles just to see and hear you laugh. I love your smile and the way you see the world. I love this channel. Thank you for being here for us.
You are so kind
Ooh..........!.
Been watching you for awhile.
Actually-my bad-should have subscribed waaay back.
This one made me check!.
CHECK!!!!!.
What a classic!.
Luvya!.
Zebedee from Down Undah!.👍
Your reactions are often funnier than the clips you're reacting to. Once the tissues come out I know you're enjoying the clip or the song!
It was your reactions that totally made this for me...
I used to watch these with my dad and just laugh and laugh... A brilliant man and one whose humour we desperately need today.
Thanks for bringing back these childhood memories, K.S.O.!
I am 65 and grew up watching Dave Allen. Still find him hilarious. Clearly you do too, more than 55 years later.
Dave grew up in an Irish village called Rathfarnham in Dublin, his childhood home is still standing.
A comic genius well before his time.
@@lfcgero35 I'll 2nd that.
Hi K.S.O, sorry dont know you real name, just wanted to say whenever i feel a little bit down i return to this reaction, its the best I've seen and always brings a smile to my face. Its good that you can have a good laugh at yourself now and then. Your laugh is really infectuous :-)
Welcome back Darling, much love!
Lady, that just made my day, watching you repeatedly crack up over religious jokes by Dave Allan. Thank you very much for that - Lovely-Jubbly...
So what if you went a whole 35 days between exposure to Dave Allen-- I think you'll be delving into what he was so comedically trying to point out soon.... That the hyperbole of religion (*any* religion) is laughable, at best, and harmful to the masses, at worst..... Blessed Be, & Peace!!
Please look further into Billy Connolly, i think you will be AMAZED! Peace.
Billy is Fabulous but it really does need saying that, DA was ahead of his time and I think Billy certainly took many things from Dave's performances and his material.
Sincerely K.S.O. Love Dave Allen. I love your reaction. It's a deep rabbit hole dear. I'm sure you will enjoy. Keep searching . Full shows are available Dave Allen At Large is a good place to start.
I utterly adore reactors who are so easy to laughter.
I enjoyed watching this! Seeing you laugh has given me what I’m sure will be my best laugh of the day!
Dave Allen was brought up in the Catholic faith in Ireland and they were strict,I worked with Irish girl's in the 60s and they went to confession on Saturday and church on Sunday.
“Good night, mate your God go with you...”
Dave Allen was my Dad's favourite comedian. This bought back happy memories of him. No one beats him for a unique take on religion 😁💖
I love Dave Allen, however, I have to say that watching you laughing and loosing control is so much better! Thanks for sharing
The car used as a hearse is a Citroën 2CV, I very much doubt Volkswagen would like to be associated with it.
Something tells me you kinda enjoyed this. I don’t know, I just get that subtle vibe…..
Watching Dave Allen in my early teens helped me develop a sense of humour that respects diversity whilst being able to poke fun at our idiosyncrasies. Thanks Dave. RIP.
Actually, when I was a kid in Ireland, Dave Allen was banned from the national TV network largely because of his religious jokes. We used to be scrambling to the British channels to get to see him.
(is'nt that just terrible?) (:
Brilliant reaction! Growing up in the UK when Dave Allen was on the TV was a blessing. He was also a really nice person in real life too, if you read the reports. Dave Allen was on the BBC in the UK, when the Catholic Church was still all powerful in his native Ireland. I refuse to believe in a God that doesn't have a sense of humour. Just look at all the "jokes" he has played on us over the years.
Dave Allen is brilliant I'm church of England (protestant) and he does make jokes about us aswell but we have to be able too laugh at each other people get offended all too easy these day's.
Loved Dave Allen show in the 70s Brilliant comic🙏❤️😂
You keep reacting to Dave Allen - we'll all buy shares in the tissue company!😅
My Dad was a huge fan of Dave Allen in the 1970s and 80s. I would hear him laughing from my bedroom in a very similar almost breathless way to how you did 😆
There are so many videos of his you’d enjoy watching but I can recommend Dave Allen telling the time, Dave Allen on Religion and Dave Allen on Airplanes.
He is awesome. Grew up watching him. You r so awesome too.🤣🤣🤣🤣🇬🇧🇺🇸💕
IF YOU SEARCH FOR A BLACK CAT IN THE DARK ,THAT ISN'T THERE, AND YOU SAY YOU FOUND IT .....THEN YOU'RE LYING
Dave Allen always had me falling off my chair! He was so great! xx
I think Kleenex are going to buy you a Dave Allen box set. Hilarious.
Of course he reads the bible; reading the bible is how atheists are usually made in the first place.
You have the most infectious laugh! Thank you for reacting to this, and thank you for making my day.
Your laugh is so infectious , I've watched this over and over again , thank you for making me laugh . Dave Allen was a much loved comedian
I love your laugh, it's quite infectious
The second joke you didn't get because you were still laughing when he started it :(
I can't stop watching this reaction KSO. You are hysterical in it. I shared it with my Catholic friends on Facebook. They got a kick out of you laughing. In the name of the father and son and into the holy ghost. Bishops shoes🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Thank you Darling, 😄It was into the HOLE he goes.... burial reference😄😄😄
BREATHE, GIRL, BREATHE!!!😆😆😆😆😆😆
I recommend you look at his 70's heyday, Dave Allen At Large. Oh, happy memories of sneaking a watch on my old Black & white portable TV the night before school. Hilarious man, comic genius. My favourite is the 'Who farted in church' sketch.
I used to watch him on television in Britain late night with my Dad but years later I actually met him he came in our shop it was Newsagent he was telling jokes to the Paperboys and girls.
I like the fact that you still giggle about things you may not like xxx
Lovely to rediscover Dave Allen, enjoyed your reaction to him.
I love this lady
I freakin love you ! Thanks for this !
Ahh, his description of his first day at school is just soooo funny. Great man, sadly missed.
Not a Volkswagen, but a Citroën
Dave Allen has been dead now for quite some time so it is great that we have all of his material on RUclips. He was really one of a kind. Edgy but not vulgar.
Wonderful to see you enjoying this humor.
That Volkswagen is a Citroen....
