Hi ! Thanks for the review ! :) What about the holder ? i have a 13 pro, and the holder is not very good, not very stable. (My english is not very good sorry). Greeting from france !
Completely subjective and impossible to answer. One reason I try not to do that here is because I don't want to rob someone of something that works better for them. The Huion is thinner like a tablet, the XP-Pen is closer to the Cintiq type classic build with the red dial. Both have express keys and similar pen experience. I did not have any driver issues with either and both have fully laminated displays. They even both have a 3-in one cable. You just need to choose with is right for you. I have reviews on all of them. Hopefully is answers some of these questions. One thing I see other reviewers do is say I like this one better and they get hammered for being shills. You don't really see that here because I treat them all equally.
Create Now Sleep Later • 1 second ago The Kamvas Pro 22 is just a bigger version of the 16. They share the same upgrades from a year ago. I would make the decision based on size and if you need to travel. The other thing is you can't put the 16" on a Vesa arm so you need a stand. That might make a big difference to you.
Yeah, I try to avoid the brand warfare. I think it’s just there are so many things you can do with a pen display. Once the lines were fixed, its just a good tablet.
Hi John, there is something important you miss here, and I hope you give it more exposure here. I've bought the Kamvas 16 pro, after watching all reviews available including yours, but one thing nobody mentions is how pro 16 tilt functions work. If you put the pen on one point and tilt it 360, the cursor actually MOVES (even on normal use) and continue painting, this imho is very very bad, wacom tablets doesn't do this. Tilting is supposed to move change only the angle, not moving the cursor, and you don't have any option to turn off tilt either. I hope they can fix it in driver updates, but if they can't, then it is absolutely more inferior than cintiq. No amount of laminate or parallax can fix this annoyance, people change angles all the time during painting, hence your tip and cursor will not always align in Kamvas pro 16. Which is why you can't exactly calibrate your cursor perfectly either, because the calibration take account of your tilt angle. If you click it while your pen is perpendicular to the screen, and tilt your pen slightly while painting, then the cursor will not align. And if you calibrate while your pen is tilted, then when you stroke/dot in perpendicular angle, your cursor will not align. It is a small annoyance for some (like me), but for those who uses a lot of tilt, and want stroke accuracy, this flaw might break your purchase. You might want to put this detail in your video, especially in cintiq comparison, it will help many people, cheers.
I thought I covered it because I pointed out that I didnt not experience it like older models. Maybe it was the 22" I covered it. You are sayng you get the cursor offset when tilting?
@@CreateNowSleepLater I believe you didn't cover it in the 16 pro models, otherwise I would have heavily considered not buying, since it makes using it rather annoying. Yes, which means that the pen tip alignment with the visible cursor takes into account of your pen tilt, regardless of your calibration. If you calibrate the pen while it is perpendicular to the screen, the the tip will be accurate when you hold the pen while it is perpendicular to the screen, but not aligned when you hand is at 45 degree angle. And if your tip stay stationary in one point and you rotate your hand while tilting, the cursor will move around according to your tilt, which shouldn't happen at all. This makes it frustrating as you are not drawing according to where you put your pen, instead you have to be aware constantly on where the on-screen digital cursor is, because people's hand change angle all the time. Whatever laminate feature is rendered useless because of this. I've emailed Huion about this, and they are checking it out. Meanwhile, you can check this short vid i record to Huion to get more clarity. streamable.com/k0bnn

Hi Katie, no, if its just a pen display you need your Mac Book Air. The only options really are the iPad and the MobileStudio Pro to operate without a laptop or PC.
@@CreateNowSleepLater ok but I am planning to have a graphic tablet and I don't understand what do they mean by "cintiq alternative" So... Any suggestions?
@@tiredhaze All it really means it Cintiq is made by Wacom. For many years Wacom Cintiq was the only options for digital art pen displays. Thats why Cintiq alternative is used widely. All it really means is a non Wacom pen display.
I can see it in your pictures but it’s hard to tell how it is in motion. I think a lot of people have their first pen experience with a Huion vs a Wacom now. If you look at the Wacom reddit, you always see people posting issues. I could have some of what you’re seeing but I don’t see it in motion because I’m a long time emr user. Emr has classic issues like cursor lag, parallax and offset to a degree. Some of the more expensive devices, less so. You said in your post you returned it, are you considering other brands? Did it impact the drawing experience for you? Like if I tilt, the cursor adjusts and will offset for a second but it doesn’t interrupt my line.
@@CreateNowSleepLater The problem is my current location. Here the Wacom Cintiq 16 costs almost 900 bucks in Amazon. Curiously, the Cintiq Pro 13 is in 800 buck right now. XP-Pen only sales the artist 12 in amazon and nothing else. Huion have in more or less way, the same prices than in USA. I testes the apple pencil and the ipad (pro and 7th generation) but I pay for my current drawing program (PaintToolSai) and I only work with it. I'm a freelance ilustrator and I really want to upgrade but the cintiq 16 or the Pro 13 are out of my buget. Maybe into a few months but not right now. Should I give tho the Kamvas Pro 16 a new chance?
@@CreateNowSleepLater yeah i like the metal coating on the huion, but design wise i think the red wheel on the xp pen + the 2 additional hot keys are a better buy, plus its slightly cheaper too.
@@CreateNowSleepLater Not possible, maybe you aren't paying attention to it enough. I've emailed Huion support about it, and they did acknowledge it. Huion's pen sensor is not near the tip, is slightly higher, so when you tilt it, the cursor will surely offset. My friend bought, same issue, and the issue is even more prominent near the edges, especially bottom of screen. Their support is also crap, till now the driver is still in beta.
To power the device as well? Hmmm, I don’t think so. I’m assuming you mean using your own USB-C to USC-C cable as a one cable solution? Is that the question? It might though because all the power/video/data do wind up going through that usb-c connection. I’m assuming you haven’t purchased yet? Why don’t you tweet them, or ask them on Skype. i have one... prolly one of the first that came to europe... 1- the calibration is exasperating: the calibration is a pain in the arse... cos you have to go through all 9 points each time.. and to get all 9 right to function.. you have to move a bit each pointer to the left right or top bottom.. and once you have one.. you have to remember the next time... when you wanna get the next one right.. instead of adjusting one by one the ones that are probably not working right each time.. annoying and super easy to sort out by any good programmer!!!! as a matter of fact.. just by putting some sort of small milimetrical color coded grid.. at least going through the nine points would be less of a pain in the arse! 2.- for whatever reason mine scratches like helll.. came with a scratch that was not a problem cos it was outside the drawing area and they offered me some stuff.. very kind an nice.. i asked for an extra pen.. that was what broke on my original 20 year old wacom. but last week found 2 more scratches.. right in the middle.. i don't place anything on top of it.. i don´t wear jewelry.. and i always use light soft jumpers and the glove... still working out if it was the pen who did it.. changed tips... but.. i´m not happy about that! 3.- it has a bit of light leakeage fom the borders... nothing annoying... 4.- as i use it as a second monitor to a LG27" 4K screen... when i try to open the settings.. once on the huion it always surpasses the area of the monitor... no button to adjust to screen... when i use the very last button, the one to calibrate the monitor... that is also is used to used the different 3 setting of the scroll bar.. the message shows up only in the main 27" 4K screen... 5.- every time they have updated, de drivers (the first number of the lot.. 16 - 17 -18), i had to go through all the process to restore the settings of the buttons for all the programs, cos the last saved xml with the settings won´t load... and that is unacceptable... 6.- i miss a mouse option, to work faster in a bigger 2nd screen and other stuff that is not illustration... for all the rest is a good tablet.. but i have nothing to compare with... i used it half of what i would.. because of the calibration issue.. its anoying going to open a a tab in a window and hit something else... i talked to a very nice and responsive woman at huion.. and said that she was going to get me in contact with a programmer, but never happened! if you talk to them and think that any of this could be sorted out.. please do.. i´m bored of asking already! thanks
@@CreateNowSleepLater i dont think anyone owns touch as a patent. Alot of companies have touch on their products. A surface pro is the closest we come to the product i want. But its not powerful enough.
errr "faster than ipad pro" seems like you dont know what your talking about, this is not a computer, its just a display. The ipad is all in one. The speed of the hurion is entirely dependent on the computer you hook it to, not the pad. If you hook it to a crappy computer with a celeron etc it will be slow, if you pair it with a threadripper workstation it will be lightning fast compared to ipad.
Which part are you referring to, the polling rate? If so, the speed at which the pen talks to the digitizer is faster than both Wacom and the iPad Pro. That is why gaming mice have a high polling rate.
@@CreateNowSleepLater That is correct but the lag people are normally experiencing and referring to is not coming from the tablet or its polling rate, its coming from the software and hardware being used to run it. Photoshop for instance is a heavy load program than some others and users on a slow computer will often feel it is "laggy" on drawing compared to another. Another case is the person thats running on a monitor displaying photoshop or their drawing software at 120,165,240 fps etc, and a person on an older 60 fps screen will only see an update on screen to the pen polling rate on roughly every 4th poll while a person running at 240 fps would see an update nearly every poll (given a 266 hz poll rate) so the 60 fps user and the 240 fps user can experience a vastly different user experience on the same tablet.

Can you hotkey the side buttons to quick switch to using eraser and back to pen?
One one button? You can have one button for brush and one for eraser. or you can program one button on the pen for eraser and switch that way.
Which one is better xp-pen 15.6 pro or the huion kambas 16 pro?
Which one is better: Kamvas Pro 16 (2019) or Kamvas Pro 22 (2019)?
Create Now Sleep Later

The Kamvas Pro 22 is just a bigger version of the 16. They share the same upgrades from a year ago. I would make the decision based on size and if you need to travel. The other thing is you can't put the 16" on a Vesa arm so you need a stand. That might make a big difference to you.
Very nice review sir
Thanks for watching!
@@CreateNowSleepLater should I get this or the xp pen pro 15.6? They seem to have the same features.
Slow but sure, Huion is getting closer to a Wacom in the mid segment
I did have this problem with my Kamvas Pro 16, too. All that you wrote here I did suffering this last weekend. I did have to send it back and ask a refund.
@@xof_ashMD I am only glad that you did. I bought it off a retailer, so I can't really refund the product now. But after using it for a month (because it felt like a damn waste of money to leave it there), it has even more issues. I just leave the link here, and hopes everyone that wanna buy it read this first: www.reddit.com/r/huion/comments/dcnto8/review_do_not_buy_huion_kamvas_tablets_its_very/
Dear God, I need this tablet. Bloody hell... good review though, mate!!!
Thanks for watching!
Create Now Sleep Later no problem. I’m glad you showed that line work test. Specifically in Clip Studio paint. If there are any affiliate links on your page, I’ll definitely use it so you get commission. And I’ll recommend the tablet to others if if performs as well as I’m seeing it perform in your video!
Awesome, thanks so much for the support.
Can it run on it's own? I mean can I draw on it directly? Without always use my Mac Book Air?
@@CreateNowSleepLater oh thank you
What stand are you using using this review?
Sorry, I missed this. I think this one amzn.to/2TJnRaD
How about the colors ? are they okay?
Yep, really good. I actually talk about very briefly in my comparison video with the Cintiq.
Create Now Sleep Later yeah you did, but you sad the cintiq has more contrast :/ Doesn’t have that contrast, would be problematic?
No, the cintiq is calibrated out of the box. The huion colors are fine, the gamut is higher actually but you’ll need to calibrate it.
Any good news about the offset issue?
Afraid not, I tried to reproduce it but couldn’t. Not the way you described it.
@@CreateNowSleepLater Do you have an email account to put in contact with you?
@@CreateNowSleepLater I posted this on reddit:
www.reddit.com/r/huion/comments/dm1k4d/huion_kamvas_pro_16_issues/
Maybe you can find it interesting...
Should I give tho the Kamvas Pro 16 a new chance?
how does it compare to xp pen 15.6 pro?
Not entirely sure although I prefer the design and Huion better than xp pen. Specs wise, they are close.
@@CreateNowSleepLater yeah i like the metal coating on the huion, but design wise i think the red wheel on the xp pen + the 2 additional hot keys are a better buy, plus its slightly cheaper too.
It’s truly a subjective decision, if those features tip the scales for you, go for it!
I wish Huion would make slim versions of their pens. Especially for these smaller screens, a slimmer pen would be nice.
Tweet them and let them know. They are good like that.
Which better? Kamvas Pro 16 or Kamvas 20 (NO PRO)???
Kamvas Pro 16 have a severe issue with the tilt and offset
@@xof_ashMD Thanks!
I don’t have any problem with cursor offset and tilt. It’s in the recording even.
Read my review here, I've used it for a month, it's crappy www.reddit.com/r/huion/comments/dcnto8/review_do_not_buy_huion_kamvas_tablets_its_very/
@@CreateNowSleepLater Not possible, maybe you aren't paying attention to it enough.
Great video
Thanks for watching!
Does it support thunderblt3 connection?
To power the device as well? Hmmm, I don’t think so. I’m assuming you mean using your own USB-C to USC-C cable as a one cable solution? Is that the question? It might though because all the power/video/data do wind up going through that usb-c connection. I’m assuming you haven’t purchased yet? Why don’t you tweet them, or ask them on Skype. I don’t have anything with TB3.
I just pinged them for you on Skype.
@@CreateNowSleepLater Thanks! The new macbookpro has a Thunderbolt 3 interface, and I think it should be able to support Kamvas pro 16,I haven't purchased Kamvas pro 16, I don't know if anyone can answer:Does it support thunderblt3 connection? :)
@@sevenzhang6466 Huion can answer it. Ping them on Skype. I did on Friday but its the weekend.
I just heard back. It does not support thunderbolt 3.
i have one... prolly one of the first that came to europe...
1- the calibration is exasperating:
the calibration is a pain in the arse... cos you have to go through all 9 points each time.. and to get all 9 right to function.. you have to move a bit each pointer to the left right or top bottom.. and once you have one.. you have to remember the next time... when you wanna get the next one right.. instead of adjusting one by one the ones that are probably not working right each time.. annoying and super easy to sort out by any good programmer!!!!
as a matter of fact.. just by putting some sort of small milimetrical color coded grid.. at least going through the nine points would be less of a pain in the arse!
6.- i miss a mouse option, to work faster in a bigger 2nd screen and other stuff that is not illustration...
for all the rest is a good tablet.. but i have nothing to compare with...
i used it half of what i would.. because of the calibration issue.. its anoying going to open a a tab in a window and hit something else...
i talked to a very nice and responsive woman at huion.. and said that she was going to get me in contact with a programmer, but never happened!
if you talk to them and think that any of this could be sorted out.. please do..
i´m bored of asking already!
thanks
Why do people use that glove thing
So the screen doesn’t get oily from your hand and it helps with palm rejection.
I ams till wating for a touch version... just sell it for 100 extra and add touch damn it!!!
I don’t know if that is a patent issue or not.
