This seems like such a good alternative to cintiq! Especially with the price point!
"
also i bough a 24 cintiq and it broke, they didnt validate my guarantee.
My brother bought this just after it was released. And as someone who's obsessed with drawing tablets/displays i was iMPRESSED by it. The parallax is almost gone and all in all it's better than most wacom displays imo but so much cheaper at the same time.
He's lefthanded too (just like me. Yay lefthanded squad) and we tried to figure out how to turn the screen for 2 whole days. (It was even more complicated with his old laptop) Always the biggest fear when we buy a new tablet "please please please let there be a left hand mode" :')
Question does it still work?I hear alot people say huions die fast °-°
@@Randomperson-ke7xh works perfectly fine! the pen had a problem a few months ago tho but he replaced it (i think amazon payed for that but i'm not 100% sure.) and he draws almost daily so it's been through a lot x'D
in the driver they have the option for left handed by just click the screen rotation to 180°. I use Huion H950P, but Im definitely sure that it has the same driver tho
@@angellysteffynalaurenza3392 we tried that. and i can tell you we've tried everything. it was long ago so maybe they changed it but i remember that it didn't work back then. will tell him what you said so maybe he can fix it now so thank you :)
@@angellysteffynalaurenza3392 just checked it. it does have the option to rotate the screen. problem is the same tho. it doesnt actually rotate the screen, no matter what you do.
Thanks stranger. This review sealed the deal for me between Huion, Kamvas, and XP-Pen's Pro variant for this size.
Woah, digital art! It's been a while :O
It has!
Thank you for explaining the left handed part....not many videos explain that and since I'm left-handed this is good to know!!
Thank you so much for your review! I was considering buying a drawing tablet, but I couldn’t decide on a good one for a good price. I’ll definitely look into this one!!
Thank you for reviewing as a left handed person! There are many of us who need this point of view.
Great review Jel!! And I hope they update the drivers for left handed compatibility soon. I've had this particular model in my wish list for quite sometime now. Hopefully I should be able to buy it in December or January next year.
i have really been looking into this tablet and i really want to get into some good digital art! this review helped so much and has helped me even more decide that i definitely want the HUION kamvas pro 16 for my drawing tablet!
By the way, love your art style and creatures!
You provided a lot of clear points. I watched a number of reviews on this product. It appears that this canvas tool can be for anyone, not only for digital art specialists however when it comes to software applications you have to know your way around and there is no built in drawing and painting program.
Thank you for such an honest and informative review! XP-Pen is another brand that has tablets very similar in specs to Huion .
Unlike wacom Cintiq 16 , XP-Pen Artist 15.6 Pro tablet with screen 16" has hot keys and a touch wheel that can be used with various modes. I personally would go the Artist 15.6 Pro- it's cheaper, has more functions, and I personally wouldn't invest too much into small screens.
I just purchased one of these used. It'll be my first tablet ever. I feel much better about it after seeing this. I had a tight budget and a very hard time deciding what to get!
I always appreciate these videos bc it shows there are more than the mainstream (*chough**chough*Wacom lol) tablets! Thank you Jel!
I love this tablet. It is amazing. Great review! 👌🏻
Just bought this tablet today. Was $389 on Amazon with no stand, and an Amazon coupon for $58 off. Got the Parblo PR-100 stand for $38 - I liked the adjustable of that stand better than the Huion. Tablet should be here tomorrow, stand on Wednesday. Can't wait!
Hey! May I ask how your opinion towards the Tablet is? :3
@@yichan6340 - it's actually quite nice. I only have two complaints, and they're minor.
The pen tip seems to be a little loose, so it's a little noisy.
It's prone to parallax. At least once a day I have to calibrate the tablet.
Beyond that, it's well worth the money.
Brian Blake thank you for your reply! I really appreciate it dude!
@@yichan6340 no problem. Hope it helps.
You can adjust the closeness of activation by popping the pen buttons off with a tiny flathead screwdriver. Under there, you'll find a small screw head which you can turn one way or the other (in very small amounts) which will adjust the activation level.
it seems a pretty flash fancy tablet.. its on my list of things i want .. I am actually left handed so i feel your pain with that.
Left Handed mode is available in the Driver ... but it's not called that. It's called 'Rotate Settings' under the 'Work Area' tab and has 4 different orientations: (in degrees) 0 - 90 - 180 - 270.
Good luck and Enjoy!
Great review!!
Good review!
Just an update on this: they added the stand to the current package and the drivers now support left handed artist. Also a lefty!
I'm left-handed too so this video help me a lot, thank u
The tablet itself has a left handed mode through the display settings! But the whole settings UI is a nightmare to navigate, lol.
Also, I don't get why they even made a variant without a stand, an included stand should be a standard for drawing monitors. I got mine from Amazon that came with a stand and it was the same price because of a sale they current have there.
Display tablets nowadays don't have included stands. Mostly for portability reasons. It's easier to take these tablets anywhere, even tho there are a lot of cords and you still need to be hooked up to a power source. I have Wacom Cintiq Pro and I am glad it doesn't have a stand included. It makes it easier to draw in bed or have the tablet in my lap. Some people actually need a stand, which is understandable. It's mostly about portability though, even with the drawbacks of cords.
Yeah, I don't personally feel these products are portable to be honest. Unless in the sense that you're going to your workplace and just need to take your drawing monitor, rather than having to pack your computer, drawing monitor and bunch of cables. Might as well just buy an iPad at that point.
To each their own at the end of the day.
I remember Huion and XP pen or any other Wacom alternative would have a dedicated stand (not inbuilt) included in all of their monitor tablets regardless of the size of the tablet. I think it's just recently that they've stopped doing this for whatever reason. My guess is to reduce the cost price but paying an additional 30-50 usd isn't a huge difference. I fear that they don't follow Wacom's business model too much I wish they would go back to providing the stands along with the tablets.
@@MangaSamte I don't think it's about a business model. In my original comment reply to this, it's more about the portability. I have seen a lot of huion tablet reviews before they stopped including stands for some of their offers on tablets. A large amount of creators stated that the stand would be too much to carry around or that the stand didn't fit in the case that was provided by huion. Huion did advertise these tablets as portable. Also, this is very normal for some monitors. Creators or gamers will upgrade their monitor a lot to keep up with the technology. Some of these monitors don't even have a stand on them or you can buy it without one, because of one reason: They switch out their monitors a lot. They don't need to have a new stand all the time. Even JelArts stated she used an old stand on her new tablet. If you already have a stand, then you don't need a new one if it is the same exact stand.
@@PhoenAstra: Something this big would do good with a vesa mount, or as an option.
I just snagged this. My tiny square wacom handmedowm died a while ago. I was learning drawing from no experience so I was only at shapes and the like. But this year I money and after shopping around for weeks and talking to my artist friends I decided on this one. Two days ago I saw it lightening deal for 270ish. I also bundled it with a good stand and a spare glove and onlyaid 335. So in super excited to start learning again
thanks for review, ill got this one
Etched glass feels so freaking good
congrats on the new tablet eyy
good review, I prefer the drawing surfaces on the huion tablets because of the tooth, feels like drawing on paper, makes it easier for me to use the tablet
My mom bought the KAMVAS pro 12 for me on my birthday. I’m very impressed, but I do need to recalibrate sometimes.
Jelarts!! My inspirational artist ..I love your art..😍😍hi😅✋
Fun fact: the tablet DOES come with a stand but you have to get it off of amazon (I believe it’s still separate in their website but together on amazon)
Last year I picked up the Huion 950 & it was great until the USB C stopped working & seemed to refuse to use any other USB C cord I had. Then I picked up the Huion Inspiroy witch worked OK. I could never get the pressure sensitivity to work on it though and had issues with the drivers constantly which is why I put it down and spent the last 5-6 months going back to paper and pencil just working on my fundamentals. Now I'm really getting the itch to get back to my digital work & decided enough of the cheap simple drawing tablets which seem to crash after a few months of drawing on them. I'm ready for an actual display monitor tablet. As much as I would love one of those professional $2,000- $4,000 20+" monitors, I'm kinda poor but I've been saving up and can now afford something in the $250-$400 range. Basically nock off a zero from my dream machines and that's my budget.
The US links for Amazon you gave do come with a stand.
Thank you! that was so informative. Is this the 2k model?
I'm kind of stuck deciding between the Huion Kamvas Pro 16 and the XP-Pen Artist 15.6 Pro. I currently use a Huion H950P and my old tablet that I used for more than 10 years is a Wacom Graphire II Bronze (which still works but features are dated).
Very good review, which camera do you use to film?
Except for iPad Pro, there's nothing close to Wacom Cintiq line... even the current entry model, Cintiq Venus line (Cintiq 16 and 22). The screen texture, the parallax and cursor position, display and color quality, the driver, the consistency, the pressure sensitivity, etc etc, and the most important thing... the PEN (it's SO NICE to hold).
I'm lucky enough to participate in a wacom/huion workshop, so there I can try all Wacom Cintiq 16 and 22, also Huion Kamvas Pro 12, 16, and 20. All side by side, and I can take all the time I want... so I can really tell the difference. Nothing beats the Wacom.
The only reason you want to choose Wacom alternative is... the price. Understandable since we all want to best bang for our bucks. I myself bought Artisul D13 (though that was one year before they released Cintiq Pro line, let alone Cintiq Venus), I don't want to buy overpriced Cintiq 13HD.
If you have enough budget to buy Cintiq (and series enough to warrant the cost), go for it, you won't regret it. If you have tight budget or just starting out as hobby, Huion Kamvas pro is more than enough and it's much cheaper.
I just ordered one on Amazon and got a stand and glove, im excited to finally be able to draw on something other than paper! It was still a bit pricey in canadian $ though, but it did have a 120$ coupon that helped take down the price a bit. Do you use yours with laptop or desktop? I only have a desktop and am kinda worried I won't be able to hook it up to it.
Whats your Display settings? brightness, contrast etc im really struggling with mine. Dope video🔥
i really like the colors
Never been this early
I can tell Huion has come a long way in their tablet production. I really like that this includes a battery free pen instead of a rechargeable one. That was one of my biggest nitpicks with Huion tablets when I still used them. I do think that all tablets should have a left handed mode that is easy to find. Many artists and the like are left handed, and it's unfair in my opinion to not always have options easily available for BOTH left handed and right handed users. I also don't really understand why they don't just include a stand with the tablet by default. Maybe it's a price thing, but I feel that stands are pretty important for tablets like these.
But overall, from what I see, this tablet looks really good and seems like it's still a great alternative to a cintiq.
it has a left handed mode... you just lfip it and thats it >>??
@@Userdoesnotexit (Haven't used a display tablet before) But then everything on the screen would be upside down (like file menus) and you'd have to (a) rotate the screen or (b) hunt down a left-handed mode
Just found this video and missed the coupon sale by one day. :( I have the Kamvas gt 191 and it works well on my laptop but I need to use it on my computer, and that's not working right for me. I loose control of my pc when I plug the HDMI into it, and the pen does not do anything on my tablet. Any idea what the problem is? And I might return it and try to get this smaller one since it seems to be a bit better.
I wish I had a tablet like that
Hey, planning it as a gift for my kid. Does it work on the go or not? Specs say it's not a standalone tablet. But it's seems you are using it separate from PC. Pls let me know. Great review BTW. Thanks!
Hi Jel, would you recommend a tablet-laptop like a Microsoft surface as a workstation?
for the last part. try on different program for picking colors
The Canadian amazon page comes with a stand
What program you using to draw with? Believe you covered everything but that.
Paint tool sai!
What art program are you using in this video?
Great video 😊 What drawing program did you use? Because I also want to get into digital art☺️
paint tool SAI
What program do you use? :D
what tablet have the better quality in general Huion kamvas 16 pro or XP Pen artist 15.6 pro?
I will buy the 16 pro but without a stand, because i alredy have one... muda muda muda mudaaaaa!
anyway, thx for the review!
Can’t the screen orientation be flipped to sort out the left-right issue?
How to fix color inaccuracy? Pls help I'm using the same Huion kamvas 16 pro.
Left hand mode is included in Huion driver.
I am so interested in display tablets! I have the one where you have to look at the computer and draw with the tablet at the same time. They are just so expensive for a broke college kid 😭
I think you can just wait the next Black Friday
XP-pen has a lot of budget display tablets
i do think sending a separate stand is good, especially for people like me who would rather just 3d print one to save money. i mean personally i feel like 50$ just to hold up a tablet is kinda eh, and i believe they advertise their portability so personally it would be nicer to have a built in stand so you have the option to use an external stand
Omg, you're left-handed. Can you tell me what that is like? great video.
Hi! I loved the review and I'm getting this tablet, I wanted to ask you what were the display settings (for the colors and stuff) you configured since it's my first display tablet and I don't really know what it should look like or what to do to make it look good
Which one do y'all think is more worth it? this or an XP-PEN artist 15.6 Pro?
Odd question we draw with both hands at the same time. Is this possible with this tablet? Oops lol guess you answered this with left handed drivers. Ty
how about if you try to direct the pointer to the corner on display? is it still accurate? when i used huion kamvas 13 pro.. i have problem with that..
thankyou..
Hello. I bought this tablet recently, and I found that it has chromatic aberration - a slight blur of color at the contrasting edges of the picture. This is described as a normal thing in the user manual, but I think that this is a defect, and i constantly notice this chromatic aberration while I work. If you know, is this normal? Maybe all graphic tablets of this type have such defects, including Cintiq?
I don't really get the idea bout 1920x1080 on 16" pen tablet is actually better visual experience than 1920x1080 on 22" or 24" pen tablet. I am having a 24" monitor with the mentioned resolution. I am perfectly satisfied looking at it while drawing with normal drawing tablet. Everything looks clarity and sharp. (Dell Ultrasharp Monitor i am using.)
Is it Pen tablet resolution vs IPS monitor are actually very different experience or technology?
Is there a video link have a close up recording to explain these significant detail?
How reliable is huion in terms of not crashing and burning. As in will the driver commonly go to crap and will the pen or display run into problems. Huion displays. Not talking about the cheap tablets
how to get rid of the cursor, when you are using the brush the white arrow is always there following the movements, its irritating
Nice!!👍👍
Make a video about Krita! It supports tilting and is a great free drawing program
nice animation!
Which software you are using to draw??????
Great review, thank you!
On their site, Huion says this model supports left handed users. Just saying.
So... Does it have to be plugged into a computer to use it? Is it rechargable / portable?
Cody Bess it has to be plugged into a computer and it’s taller than most laptop bags so not great in terms of portability. the pen is battery free though which is nice
I keep hearing that the stand isn't included but I bought this tablet & it came with a well-built stand & I only paid $350. Huh.
Sometimes when you buy from amazon, it’s verified huion reseller (so its neither refurbished or fake) and its sometimes cheaper
Mine didn't come with a stand and was 400$
How's the brush tilt? I have a kamvas pro 22, and a cintiq 13pro, but brush tilt in wacom is far better, completely another league. Kamvas has the tilt but the accuracy and feeling is not even close to wacom.
Does it support thunderbolt3 connections?
Will this work if I'm left handed?
I’m getting this for my birthday! :D

Great video! Do you still use this tablet? I am moving to Canada soon so I was wondering what option regarding the charging cable you use in Canada. Is it the one for USA? Perhaps I should buy the cable for USA instead of the one sent for Australia. Can I somehow power it without connecting it to a power point? Thank you 😊
I’d get the 2021 canvas if you really wanted because I’m assuming people haven’t used wacom because the parallax is pretty horrible on this notice she says it’s “been reduced” most Huion reviewers have been paid out and have to only say very specific things they want you to say, personally I’m not sure if she has this case but if anything I’d probably try to play it safe and stay away from other tablet brands besides Huion I guess if you desperately want a Huion tablet because all these non wacom tablets mostly literally come from the same company and always have the same issues and tons of quality control issues basically like gambling
@@moraeza Thanks for the info - I will save up for a Wacom then. It seems buying a Huion isn't a good/lasting alternative to Wacom :/ such a shame though. Wacom tablets are insanely expensive.
@@eillync01 im actually getting the kamvas 16 tomorrow just to try it out because I do need a tablet for my major, and nothing I’ve tried so far doesn’t work. as far as their 4K displays a 4K monitor that size alone typically goes for around 600, it seems so I get the price in a way, as well as it coming with their Wacom remote but I do think it’s a bit much, but for everything it has, not really. I had the cintiq 16 but for 1080 not really worth the price, if you want a display maybe go for wacom one? It seems like a somewhat decent option compared to cintiq 16 with 1080p display :/ I’m thinking about posting a review to here on the Kamvas 16 2021 so I’ll let you know my thoughts. A RUclipsr here I watch allot who doesn’t really seem to be ever biased, seemed impressed with it and it doesn’t seem to have many bad reviews yet so I’ll see what happens.
