...drove out there from Port St Lucie yesterday and today for the gun show...I love this town...went into an Applebee's and saw four guys sitting at a table - all wearing big Stetson style hats...I love the old Florida town ambiance & cowboy heritage...

Moved here 2yrs ago to escape city life. I am in buck head ridge on top of lake. Lots of canals. Even though I am in glades county we have an okeechobee address and most services from okeechobee. 7 minutes on st rd 78 east to okeechobee area. Just wonderful.its a great place to live. Totally happy and no day to day stress. Try it.

Born and raised in Chobee. Left in 1985 at 16yo. It has changed a lot.

I lived in this town a couple years ago it looks really beaten down since I was last living there looks like a lot of the restaurants i used to frequent have closed down and a bunch of shops and things have shut down including even some of the ranches looks like they’ve been bought out. Anybody local have any insight on how the town is doing? what happened to Cowboys? Southern accent Ranch Farms?

Florida economy downhill, because the Mother Nature and the current political atmosphere
