I’ve lived in Asheville literally my entire life! I have never seen any of your videos, but this one popped up in my feed. 😊 thank you for visiting us! I’m glad you enjoyed 😊
Honestly coming from a California native living in NC currently, I will say Asheville is my favorite city in all of the state. If San Francisco had a hippie little sister that would be Asheville for sure.
My sister and Mom live near Ashville and they love dinning there. We grew up going to Ashville every summer vacation. Great memories and was fun watching this video.
Glad you enjoyed your visit! Just want to point out to your viewers that Wicked Weed (Funkatorium) was local but sold to Anheuser Busch InBev. Wicked Week, Green Man, and so many others are great places that are locally owned. Having said that, I do love me some Sierra Nevada and I'm grateful for the breweries that expanded into Asheville rather than converting what was local to not local. Thanks for coming and making us look good.
Well.... thanks for taking me along with you guys, but I got so drunk 5 minutes after the video started I could hardly sit in my chair. I started recovering from that and then a couple of minutes after that I started getting drunk again. Man, what a ride. Thanks a million.
I live in Asheville and yall should check out nine mile!! My mother works there and our family friends own it!! Its super delicious and allergy friendly! (Ps. we have 3 in asheville!, but the one in montford is the best!🖤🖤)
Loved Asheville, visited fam there back in August and my cousin knowing how much of a craft beer head I am, took my to Eurisko, Burial, and Hillman to name a few. Can't wait to get back!
Thanks for the Asheville and RV content! We’re upgrading our rig this week and Asheville is on my bucket list - it’s a good 2-night commute distance from home for us. I can’t wait to check it out soon! Hope to see you there someday.
We did a trip to Asheville about a month ago. Day 1 was Sierra Nevada in Hendersonville, which I highly recommend. Day 2 was Blowing Rock Hard Cider was different and very good. The ladies enjoyed the cidery a lot. Day 3 was downtown Asheville where we went to Wicked Weed, Asheville Brewery, Burial and Catawba Brewery. All 4 were outstanding with Burial the best. The last day was spent at a Burntshirt Winery. I'm not really a wine drinker but it was very cool drinking a nice glass of wine overlooking the vineyard. If you ever travel to Williamsburg, Va, you need to check out Aleworks. Also you may want to check out Charleston, SC. We have several very good breweries here (I'm a local) along with some of the best food in the US. I enjoyed your video, next time I'm going to New Belgium and White Lion!
Sounds like you had a blast and made the most of your trip! Yes Sierra Nevada is awesome - such a huge place! We haven't been to Catawba, how was it? Yes VA wine country is interesting. Beautiful and there are some good wineries there. - Liz
@@EatSeeRV Catawba has good beer but the atmosphere of the bar is pretty bland. Here's a link to Charleston's brewing scene www.charlestonaletrail.com/. If you like a porter, Holy City has one of the best called Pluff Mud. We also have a distillery here producing small batches of vodka (Cannon Street Distillery), Deep Water Vineyard and Charleston Tea Plantation which is the only tea maker in the US. We went to St Augustine Distillery in August, 2018 and that was a good time too. Anyway I look forward to seeing more of your videos!
Liz, wow how are you guys! was looking for place to eat in ashville since Im heading there this weekend and I was like I know that couple! Say hello to Dennis for me! Congratulations on your YT channel, subscribed! Hope you guys are doing great!
That was a cool video. Have y’all ever thought about traveling around the country to hit little spots like this and doing reviews of places to get a good beer and good food? I’m sure that would keep you busy and putting on the miles not to mention the views and people that you would meet. Stay safe and sober if y’all are driving. Cheers!!!
What a great review of Ashville. Thank you for doing such an interesting and complete video of a great looking place. That is definitely on my list of places to go.
I'm working in Arden (South Asheville) right now. These places look really awesome. I wish that I could do something other than work because that's about all I do.
There are at least 30 craft breweries in Asheville. I've been to a few. All the ones I went to did not disappoint. My latest one is Ginger's Revenge. Yes, they have ginger beer, but they have other flavors as well. ALL their flavors were very distinctive and delish! My partner had the Hybiscus & Lavender. I taste-tested hers and, as I said, both flavors were present and very distinct - spot on! I think the person doing this video mentioned it, but every brewery I've been to has had very reasonable prices for both food and drink. They all are constantly competing for your business. I've been to some other cities and, frankly, I was disappointed by some breweries. While on a recent road trip, I visited a bistro in Indianapolis who advertised having their own in-house brews, and I was so disappointed. The quality of their brews was so sub-par. Not all breweries are created equal.
Gonna visit western NC soon. I'm only a few hours east of there in Raleigh. Guess I like to drive east more so than west. Haha, ya'll drank a lot of beer, had donuts and cheesecake with chocolate sauce, but you can't have potatoes. LOL.
Oh lord no we were cheating the whole time, hahah cheesecake, beer, and donuts are definitely not approved! But hey you only live once and we don't eat every day. Yes! You need to go west! - Liz
What a great variety of beers and foods! Thanks for your interesting video. But: Beer in a plastic glass? That's a NO GO. Greetings from Bavaria, Germany.
That is a no go too! But the city of Asheville had a boil water notice that day, so they couldn't serve beers in glass. Especially with how busy it was. I don't think that was normal at all. - Liz
You should try Zillicoach Beer Company! Nice place to hangout, drink, and they have a Mexican food truck right outside! Eat up some food Mexican food .
Wow! Looks like two amazing days! My niece & her family live there - we have been to a couple of breweries with them, but clearly not enough... just did a similar day in Santa Barbara, CA, enjoyed a few places then trained & ubered home.
Haha yes, if you do several breweries ubering is a must. Our 1st day (where we did the most) we Ubered. Sounds like you have a few more to add to your list! Enjoy and thanks for watching - Liz
Next time, Taqueria Muñoz for true authentic tacos and more. Gypsy Queen Cuisine for the best Lebanese cuisine. The shawarma is the best. Good call on Hole donut👨🏽🍳
fender you might not like what it has become, but change is inevitable, and it’s FAR better here than it was in the 70’s and 80’s when I grew up. More of a pain in the ass just because the infrastructure hasn’t been built up with the population boom and the ever increasing tourism but like I said, inevitable.
I have lived in Asheville all my life. I have seen all of these places but haven’t visited them . I guess that’s the downfall of being too busy with life. Thanks for sharing my hometown with me. Shame on me,,,,,,
moved to Asheville last year. I paid $500k for a 3 Bedroom single story home right outside the city limit. Property taxes are insane here.Since then my car has been broke into 3 times and the last time someone left a needle on my driver's seat. The Police said they are having trouble with the homeless doing heroin. Just keep that in mind.
We love ashville. Family is there. If you like Breweries and good food. Need to go see Frankfort ky. Is called the bourbon trail. Right before I deployed a couple months ago they opened up a couple new Breweries and microbreweries. Look up "Bourbon on main" will not disappoint.
Awesome! We actually visited Frankfort in our 1st month ever as full-time RV'ers. We did the Bourbon trail and visited a lot of distilleries, but no breweries. It's on our list to revisit and will give them a try when we're there. - Liz
It looks like you had a great time! You definitely hit some of our favorite spots (Burial & Dirty Jacks-aka the original Green Man) but we haven't tried White Labs Kitchen & Tap and Curate - that'll be on the list next time we head west to Asheville! Thanks for the video! :)
