My niece lives in Asheville. This side of my family have completely changed me from a California wine drinker to a NC beer drinker. That alien stout - right up my alley! We went to Oskar Blues years ago, but it looked totally different then. Cheers! 🍻
I'll be going to Asheville in September 2023 and, in preparation, I'm enjoying the educational videos RUclips offers of the area. You did a great job on this one.
We've only been to Asheville once, but definitely LOVED it and want to return. We stayed at Campfire Lodgings with the most amazing sunset view overlooking the French Broad. We totally agree about White Duck Taco, and will keep your other suggestions in mind when we go. We saw your live (but not live)...please know we will always watch whenever you choose to publish. Your videos are so professional, informative, and entertaining! We do ours just for fun and don't wanna be monetized but understand the burn out with YT. Be well!
Hey Liz and Dennis, how are you guys doing, it's Pedro? Love your vids, I was just in Asheville last week, so a great area to enjoy! Was at the Biltmore for the first time, really enjoyed it ! Hope you guys have a fantastic holidays and hope to see you guys soon! Take care!
I was born and raised in Asheville. I left there 5 yrs ago and everyone has said that I got out at the right time. Most natives know better than to go downtown after dark. It was once a quiet little country town. Most of my family and friends are scrambling to find a way out. Property and land are astronomical amounts now. I don't even go back for visits now. The town is too dirty.
you're insane downtown is so safe, much safer than it used to be. if you were born and raised here then you know pre 2000 it was legit dangerous in some places. i have lived all over the country and this city is straight up one of the safest places you can be,

Thank you Liz and Dennis. Barb and I only had 1 full day to explore and all 3 of your Asheville vids were super helpful. We visited the Funkatorium, Burial, Green Man, Bear's BBQ, Wicked Weed, Cúrate for dinner, and Pack's. (we put our sticker near yours in Burial :-) Have fun in Mexico.
Check out the surrounding areas.. from Burnsville, Black Mountain, Waynesville, to Weaverville.. all these places are amazing..they have wonderful places to eat, drink, shop, explore, hike, and drive. The Blue Ridge to Cherokee with the drive and going to parks .. Elk walks too. Hope you come back and do more.
I have lived in Asheville for almost 6 years now. I love it!! You guys went to some of the most amazing places to eat and drink here but there is sooooo much more. If you guys are looking for a short hike to watch the sunrise or sunset, Craggy Pinnacle is a sure winner. Our son has cold urticaria too! You are the first person, other than him, that we have heard of who actually has it. Great video. We are hoping to visit Asheville next April. We live in Alaska, and prefer temperatures below 70, so thought April might be a good time.
The colors were beautiful. I love Asheville too, and Brevard. That's where I honeymooned. Next time you're in the area check out Dupont Forest. Yeah, cold weather & scooter/motorcycle doesnt go well together.💖🙏✌

My wife and i have ridden there many times, the Blue Ridge Parkway is awsome but you just did it too late in the riding season. There are so many craft beer places in Asheville that it would take a quite a few days to visit them all and actually have a beer in them all,the food an entertainment is pretty great as well, parking isn't the best, you pay to park, and there is public parking, but you gotta look for them lol. I enjoyed this video, mostly cause my wife and i do it year round,we live in Hendersonville NC,less than 10 miles away so its familiar.
First from Shillong and I saw your first Savannah Georgia and I feel like that city I want to go.... Thank you Dennis and my girl you are the best blogger......
Haha or wear way more clothes than I do! Although we did have a friend who had to move from NY because this condition caused his throat to close eventually when it got to cold. So yes, maybe move. - Liz
Awesome video! Love the Neistat vibe B-roll! If you haven't checked out the outerbanks of NC its equally awesome. Duck, Corrolla, Hatteras, and Beaufort might be the best hidden small town at the beach
I was born in hendersonville raised in fletcher and mills river (all three next to brevard basically). Etowah is closest to brevard. So the white squirrel literally seemed to used to know the county line. Uncanny. Now u can see them seep into etowah at their country club and even into laurel park even. I love when i see one tho its def always cool like seeing a rare mistical creature. They r plenty enough to see one a day or so in this zone but not enough to where when u do zee one u always go theres one and spin around hoping someone else did. I type this from lake lure
Thank you for taking me with you on your journey from Asheville. Nice you place to visit and explore and do hikes. Food looked good too. If I ate a lot I would explode for one and the other I would go on hikes like you do. Ya it did look cold there while on your scooter. Glad you went back and got warm. The falls looked beautiful. The colors on the trees were real pretty while on your ride. Thank you again. Have a great week and have a Happy Thanksgiving!🦃
I have a place for you guys to go that is absolutely amazing… Not too far from where you are… It’s called the Highlands North Carolina. There are seven cascading waterfalls as you drive up the mountain if you go on the front side. And at the top is this beautiful little mountain town with great places to eat and a cute little diner in the back of the pharmacy. Excellent hiking.
I need to visit the Asheville area!!! I have Reynauld’s so I underhand the cold being more than uncomfortable. Have a great Thanksgiving! Oh, since you all have an interest in food and Native American history you may enjoy the Thanksgiving episode of Taste the Nation (Hulu). ✌🏻
Now that was some food extravaganza. Awesome. If you ever need a new job, you both would be great food critics. Ah yes, temperatures are dropping. Same here. Time to snuggle up and take a winter break. So enjoy discovering the world with you guys. Happy travels. 🙏 🇳🇱 🙋♀️ 🇳🇿
So glad you enjoy Asheville! From a North Carolinian, since you enjoy experiencing good wines, tour the Yadkin Valley Wine Trail. Not too far from Asheville. Many good local wines made from locally grown grapes.
Wow what a fantastic area there in and around Asheville. Looks like it could be a dangerous town for a guy like me already carrying a few too many pounds. LoL. But the hiking looked great and would definitely be needed. Happy U.S. Thanksgiving to both of you and your families. Take care, Peace and Calm Liz and Dennis. 👍🏻😎🇨🇦
You guys have an amazing collection of experiences in Ashville. Thanks so much for sharing. There is just so much going on there, I am sure even the locals heads spin when deciding where to go. We were a week ahead of you guys this year and after also staying at the Julian Price campground, ditched the RV for the weekend and met up with some friends staying at Grove Park. We ended up going over to White Labs (thanks for the recomendation) simply because the parking on Saturday afternoon around Wicked weed was ...well let's just say "Wicked". Next trip try one of the many walking food and brewery tours (not sure if they do this post COVID). It would make a great viewing for your followers even though you do a pretty nice tour on your own. I do think it would be a good public service announcement to let your viewers know about the draconian (just my Texas opionion) mask laws in Ashville even if you are fully vacinated with a booster. After returning from an 80 day, 8000 RV trip through the northeast, Ashville was the MOST restrictive around COVID taking things further than even Vermont. The lady at the hotel told me I would need to wear the mask in the room if we had any guests over! It takes a bit of the fun out of the visit, although if you are always drinking beer and eating, perhaps that's a good excuse for not complying with the mask mandates. :-)
That's a shame we missed you. How was White labs? We didn't get their kimchi fries this time 😢 yes agreed on strict mask policies. We still loved it though!
@@ashevillegeorge3316 well it's not hurting tourism traffic or the economy! We were just shocked that a place with such high vaccination rates still had a mandate, but certainly respected the local opinions on the issue.
I live an hour from Asheville. It's a wonderful place to visit...Biltmore House, Grove Park Inn, Pisgah Forest. But, I wouldn't want to live there. A safer and just as beautiful alternative is Morganton. Mountains, breweries, restaurants, hiking, and South Mountain State Park.
One of your best. I enjoyed that. I have a question though. I noticed your difficulty getting out of bed. What do you do in the middle of the night (in the darkness), after having spent the evening in the pubs, and you have to pee?
Lived near Asheville my entire life , and I NEVER go downtown as there is a lot of homeless and murder going on in the past 5 years or more . Be safe ! Maybe visit Waynesville NC it is SAFE .
Aside from the food and beer that made me drool, the hike location was awesome BUT your nails though…… Are those decals on your nails or is that stick on nail polish?
Haha 😆 I like where you're heads at. They're stick on nails called mani me and I LOVE them. They last 10 to 15 days and have such fun designs plus no harm to your nails like gels. link.eatseerv.com/manime
Surprised to see a new video this week. Asheville and the surrounding area looks like a nice place. Been there done that……freezing on the motorcycle. We went out riding on nice day in November which turned cold. So cold I could hardly put my feet down when we stopped. No fun to be cold on the scooter/motorcycle.
Hey guys! Asheville local here. It was so fun seeing this video and I love the places you chose to visit. But from someone who has been here quite a while and actually worked at the restaurant at Pisgah Inn multiple seasons in the past, when I saw that y'all were going to try to get to the summit going up 276 from Brevard and saw that it was overcast I was like, "oh no, they don't know". So the thing is, if it's EVER overcast in Asheville (~2300 ft in elevation) it is completely "socked in" with fog above about 3500 ft; and Mt Pisgah is at like 5000 ft. This also goes for the summer, which can make for some really cool ethereal dream-like walks in the woods. If you know the roads it can be kind of fun, but being cold and unfamiliar with them I'm really proud of you for just biting the bullet and turning around and heading back down the mountain to safety. And hey, next time you guys come to visit and want to have the best Italian food in town, come see me at Strada Italiano! Keep up the awesome channel, and I'm glad you guys had such a great time in our mountains. Cheers
If you think Asheville is nice right now you should have been here 10+ years ago before it got ruined in the 2020 riots. All those homeless people and heroin addicts everywhere, and it being dangerous to go outside in downtown at night. But in like 2010ish it was a safe and nice clean town where it was mostly bar-goers at night. Now there are gunshot victims every night in asheville. I heard a story recently about gangs of baseball bat wielding goons going around attacking people there. As nice as Asheville looks in this video, it's like Mad Max at night in downtown. I recommend tourists check out the parkway and beautiful surrounding area, but only go downtown during the daytime otherwise you're in for a bad night.
Unreal amounts of drugs, huge homelessness issue, hippies, beer, homicide, 2000+ a month rent, and just gas stations banks and fast food to work at. What a great town 😌
Asheville is overrated. Homeless camps are everywhere and cost of living is outrageous compared to what the city/area has to offer. I regret taking a job here and am looking forward to the day when I can move out.
I live in the area.. the AREA is beautiful. The city of Asheville is overrated tho. There are tons of little towns in the area that are cheaper and offer the same ( or better ) attractions, activities, restaurants ,etc…for example, the waterfall part is being shown in the video here it is not part of Asheville..its next to Brevard… Anyways, if you come to Asheville be prepared to see tons of homeless people, junkies in the streets and over pay for food and beer and hospitality. Oh I forgot to mention, crime is skyrocketing here…be careful.
Smaller towns around here are great. But the homeless from those towns go to AVL. It is not intrinsic problem to Asheville. Homeless are everywhere in US now. It is a nationwide crisis.
Asheville breweries used to be much better. Now its all overpriced and overrated but the tourists don't care. You can find better beer in Charlotte and even Knoxville.
Chai Pani was way better when the owner was the chef a few years back. Now, that he's expanded and removed himself from that role, the food quality and flavor that comes with Indian food is lacking significantly. This is also a problem in small cities where ethnic food places have no competition. Travel to any other large city and Chai Pani wouldn't even be top ten at best. Asheville had an Ethiopian restaurant that recently closed down and this was definitely the root cause, plus, it was overly expensive. Great video otherwise!
We know crime. Asheville is an oasis in this nation. For those who have shade on Asheville, welcome to the nation. Everything is expensive. Housing is out of control. Everywhere. It’s not Asheville- you just haven’t traveled in the last 2 years. So sorry you hate an amazing place.
I moved to Lake Lure to get away from AVL, I come from a Law enforcement family and am former military. They literally had a post in the paper that for assaults, robberies , and theft they won’t even send an officer, You have to go down and make a report. So this means if someone beats down your grandma, steals her purse and smashes up her car with a baseball bat, NO ONE IS COMING! I can’t count the number of overdoses in the posh woke food store bathrooms, let alone the street, it’s a toilet. I have friends on the force and the sheriffs department, it’s a sad state of affairs in the AVL PD. Defunded, undermanned, and overworked with tied hands from a “woke”city council that only cares about tourist money and lining their pockets with scams. Sad, I used to like it, now I steer clear. The needle is gone and they accomplished nothing but make an already sketchy city into a powder keg waiting to to be lit, but hey they “feel good” that they helped do something. Face palm.. useless propaganda devouring sheep.
We didn't have any tire issues but, we know friends who did. I would definitely figure out how to bring a spare along before you head down. It's definitely a good idea to call ahead to verify availability with the parks for sure. Glad you found us! Enjoy! - Dennis
Asheville overrated all these beer joints and food places but they don't pay no money around here the rent is ridiculous can't afford to stay here especially for a person who grew up here

They're second hand from thred up! www.link.eatseerv.com/thredup
One of your best. I enjoyed that. I have a question though. I noticed your difficulty getting out of bed. What do you do in the middle of the night (in the darkness), after having spent the evening in the pubs, and you have to pee?
Thanks, glad you enjoyed this weeks vlog!
We do the same thing. Gently fumble down the ladder, lol! - Dennis
Ugh no it's not! Yes we have some content we're obligated to put out and we're taking the holidays off (Christmas and new years) so posting we are!
Cheers
Thanks for the tips Kevin!
We will definitely put Strada on our list for next time.
Thanks for watching! - Dennis

Soap and Shampoo salesmen are apparently not welcome in Asheville
Lived here 20 years. It wasn't but it's too crowded dangerous. Crime is really bad .I'm moving too weaverville in a month. It's awful now
Unreal amounts of drugs, huge homelessness issue, hippies, beer, homicide, 2000+ a month rent, and just gas stations banks and fast food to work at. What a great town 😌
loL
We enjoy it 😊
Stay safe an stay away from ashville I live in waynesville we don't go to Asheville unless we have to for safety reasons
Safety reasons? What? You tripping. Don’t be so afraid of life people. Aint no boogie men here in AVL. Jeebus.
Damn y’all didn’t even go to the best restaurants in AVL
What's your favorites?
The tacos were gross
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
You will not find a better brewery in the US than Burial in AVL!
Asheville is overrated. Homeless camps are everywhere and cost of living is outrageous compared to what the city/area has to offer. I regret taking a job here and am looking forward to the day when I can move out.
Please stop coming here, y’all polluting an otherwise beautiful and clean environment 🤦♀️
Ew.
Go to Bottle Riot
Will add that to our list! Thanks for the recommendations!
It is folks like you that have ruined a great spot
Thanks again
We are not responsible for ruining Asheville lol. It's been growing for decades!
I live in Asheville. It's a beautiful place for sure. Just don't like the majority of people.
Sssshhhh
We know crime. Asheville is an oasis in this nation. For those who have shade on Asheville, welcome to the nation. Everything is expensive. Housing is out of control. Everywhere. It’s not Asheville- you just haven’t traveled in the last 2 years. So sorry you hate an amazing place.
Asheville sucks, I grew up there and it was great 30 years ago, but it's turned into the armpit of the universe.
to expensive to live here......stay in cali and stay in Florida .........quit blowing up the spot
Please don't move here.
We didn't have any tire issues but, we know friends who did. I would definitely figure out how to bring a spare along before you head down.
It's definitely a good idea to call ahead to verify availability with the parks for sure.
Glad you found us! Enjoy! - Dennis
Asheville overrated all these beer joints and food places but they don't pay no money around here the rent is ridiculous can't afford to stay here especially for a person who grew up here
Your intro is too long… sorry had to skip to another video!
It's literally 30 seconds but our channel isn't for everyone haha. Thanks for stopping by
