- The Bitcoin Halving 2024 is happening in 50 days! The Bitcoin halving event happens essentially once every 4 years, so this is a topic that needs to be discussed and analyzed.
Whether you believe Bitcoin is worth owning, I definitely think that it should be at least a small part of your overall portfolio as a speculative asset.

The reason the Bitcoin halving is such a popular topic is because the number of Bitcoin that miners are rewarded with are essentially getting cut by 50%. So instead of earning 6.25BTC per block, they will be earning 3.125BTC.
This is essentially designed to prevent inflation.
This is a huge event and could lead to an enormous increase in the price of Bitcoin...AFTER a price decline.

The $44,000 of two years ago buys about 20% less today, so Bitcoin at $44,000 today is worth 80% of a bitcoin two years ago. It would have to get to $50,000 to be equivalent. Bitcoin may or may not be inflation immune, but the dollar that it gets quoted in is not immune to inflation. Still a bargain below $45k, Get it while it's hot. If you missed the 2017, 2021 bull run.
Always kept an eye on crypto, hesitated due to its volatility despite being a long-term stock investor. Now that it's mainstream, I want in. How can a beginner navigate the crypto space with all these talks of a retrace? i don't want to buy the top.
You can start by dollar-cost averaging instead of buying a lump sum at once. Also, consult a fiduciary with crypto expertise for informed buying and selling decisions since talks of a bitcoin ETF approval. Time in the market is more valuable than timing it. Using this approach, I grew my crypto holdings from $50k in 2017 to $690k in 2023.

I've been making a lot of losses trying to make profit trading. I thought trading on a demo account is just like trading the real market. Can anyone help me out or at least advise me on what to do?
Trading on a demo account can definitely feel similar to the real market, but there are some differences. It's important to remember that trading involves risks and it's normal to face losses sometimes. One piece of advice is to start small and gradually increase your investments as you gain more experience and confidence. It might also be helpful to seek guidance from experienced traders or do some research on different trading strategies.
I will advice you should stop trading on your own if you keep losing.
If you can, then get a professional to trade for you I think that way your assets are more secure.

I don't think it is. Once bitcoin crosses it's all time high, it becomes the new bottom. Anything under 69k is a good buy. It's still advisable to work with a fiduciary advisor instead of relying solely on speculations
The only issue you might have is the fear of missing out, just like everyone else. The market is volatile at this time, But doesn't the Federal Reserve's monetary policy and low interest rates contribute to the current valuations? hence I will advice you get yourself a financial advisor that can provide you with entry and exit points on the share/ETF you focus on.
Agreed, my portfolio is well-matched for every market season yielding 85% from early last year to date. I and my CFP are working on a 7 figure ballpark goal, tho this could take another year. IMO, financial advisors are the most sought-after professionals after doctors.

What happens to the network and price of bitcoin when the last halving occurs and there is no longer a reward for miners? Would this this bad or good for bitcoin? Feels potentially bad, if the network is secured by miners and they no longer have incentive to mine

I started investing in the stock market because of dividends. What matters, in my opinion, is that if you invest and earn more money in addition to dividends, you will be able to live off of dividends without selling. I’m 73 and watched several Changewaves take place. Calculators, cell phones to smart phones, the internet, online videos, analog to digital, the eTrade IPO and more. Every time the general consensus was always ’just a fad’ and no one will ever buy things they can’t touch or hold first. Your chart projection is way conservative for several reasons. The biggest is people in your generation already accept digital currency and digital media appreciation for wealth that government can’t piss away (devalued) with no guard rails. Me, I am buying Bitcoin miners. The acceleration of information transfer will increase the value of Bitcoin exponentially. The ‘knock offs’ or coupon copy cats will disappear like Lycos and America Online which most of you younger cats never even saw come into existence or wither away.

72k to 232k (2024-2028) to 406k (2028-2032) to 507k (2032-2036) to 563k (2036-2040) to 580k (2040-2044) each halving was a 3x to 4x less increases. This calculation simply uses that same pattern of diminishing returns from the point of halving

What’s preventing another person from creating a coin that does exactly what BTC does, and is built on the same POW, with the same type of halving and limit?
Network effects. People have already chosen and adopted Bitcoin. There are multiple forms of Bitcoin. You can see how they have performed. Not well.
Looking at historical data over the past 3 halving I'd say Bitcoin could reach high 6 figures to low 7 figures at ATH. Then it'll drop down to low 6 figures.
I had more Bitcoin, but some was in blockfi which got EXPOSED to the FTX scandal so I’m waiting all their bankruptcy junk to finish up. With the other Bitcoin, I pulled it from the exchanges.

I don't see how it can be assumed that there would be any relation to the number of Bitcoins in the market or the pace at which they are added to affect pricing. Its not like its a commodity with limited supply that someone can't get their hands on any amount that their budget allows. Hopefully energy cost will become too expensive to even worry with mining these things. Imagining the amount of energy produced that has gone to make these stupid things that could have gone into helping third world countries or other effots is mind blowing. Personally I am shorting these things with BITI waiting for the hysteria to go down in a couple more weeks and pricing bottoming to the ~$25-30k range it really should be in.

Watching professional trading videos and most especially connecting with the right person the digital world is full of in unreal people I met some of them during my success journey. I’m basically a BTC maxi (as far as value goes) and the only thing I struggle with is when to cash out a portion of my BTC. I want the cash but I don’t want to miss the timing.
Im a big believer in some of the other blockchains but mainly as an investment to give me gains to allow me to buy more BTC.

When you can borrow against it and never sell. Similar to commercial real estate.
