Hi, I learn about this site by watching “Detour Shirts” video on RUclips. It was unusually long video, but every minute was valuable. Thanks 🙏🏽 btw, I use windows. Didn’t work well on iPad. (I think you said it’s on the way 😁)
You've simplified everything in designing, it's a great opportunity to learn the easy way which I thot Graphic design was a hard big task. Now I'm optimistic & excited. Lucky to found you in this wide World n i like you cool nature 👏👏 keep updating the software n videos. God bless 😉
Great video! As usual I learn more and more about the Heritage Designer. I use the short cuts all the time but being able to control how the textures work was new to me. Thank you!
Sure thing, moving forward just moves an object once, moving it to the front will place all the way on top above everything else. You can also see how it works over in the layers panel.
@@Kittldesign i guess what I’m saying is that the shortcut keys for Move to Front and Send to Back was the covered on your video. There’s no shortcut key on Kittl website. I’m not referring to move backward and bring to front. If you have 10-30 layers. That saves the users to skip every layers
Thanks for the video...on some tshirt designs you can clip the texture to the design, effectively removing it from the background and allowing you to put the design on a product without the texture being all over the place. However, other designs don't seem to work that way. I tried communicating this support and they send me to this video which seems to show how to remove the texture all together, not clip it to the design. Again, works great on some not on others...even when they are tshirt designs
figured it out...support noticed that some designs have multiple textures added by the original artist. If you delete all of those, and then add a texture in and click the clip content button on texture, it works great. FYI, really enjoying this app, I have designed 10 new shirts in a few days.
So glad you found Kittl! Right now, with certain elements, images and uploads, you can double click (or right click and select "crop") to enter the cropping mode. This ability will be coming in the future for vector assets with an erase feature. (You can also drop elements into masks in Kittl!)
hiii! new here. and literally OBSESSED with Kittl! Quick question, is there an easy way to invert an image downloaded onto the designer??? For instance i use a lot of traditional tattoo flash type designs that are heavy black outlines that i often need to invert to white for black tshirts or posters.
Hey there! Glad you like Kittl! In terms of inverting colors, as long as you are uploading vector graphics (SVG's) then that should be easy to do! If you are uploading flash sheets that are static images (like PNG or JPEG), then this is not possible in Kittl, since there are no "live" colors to edit so to speak. A program like Photoshop would be required to convert colors on a static image. Hope this helps clear things up!
Loving Kittle. I would like to know if there is a way to save my work to a folder of my choice on my hard drive? Right now it automatically saves to "downloads" then I have to go in and copy and paste it to my project folder. Sorry if you have already answered this but I was unable to find the answer. Thanks
Ok, I found the problem! I switched from my Toshiba to my Samsung and it is working normally. For some reason on the Toshiba the window to pick my folder to download to did not pop up. I tried using my Samsung and everything worked as it should! Go figure.
Great questions! We are working on a ruler and guide feature that will be coming in the future. As of now, if you want to cut the project in half, you will need to go change the sizing manually in the settings tab.
I feel so stupid. I am new to this so the simplest things are confounding me! Please tell me HOW you are moving the boxes around in the layers box to rearrange them?? looks so simple, I figured just click and move like everything else, but nope. What am I doing wrong? I can't get an answer from chatting with Kittl HELP. I only get referred to another videoAlso, should I get a wireless mouse rather than using the pad on my Dell laptop? Thanks (otherwise - this was very helpful!)
Hey there. It is just as you've said, to move the layers around in the layers panel, you simply click and drag them up or down. Alternatively, you can click on an element on your board, right click with your mouse, and select "move to front" or "move to back" which will bring it to the top, or bottom, of your layers panel. Perhaps you will need to try a different mouse?
Correct, when you select a layer from the presets in the left menu, it will cover your entire work and be locked to the top, where you can choose to clip your texture to the design itself. To continue adding textures and using blending modes, you can release the texture to move it freely, but keep in mind that you won't be ale to clip or mask it (until we release that feature soon).
Hey there, does your mouse have a normal scroll wheel? This is the easiest way to move down and view other elements in the panel. If you are trying to move to the left and right, there are also small arrows you can click, as most mouse features do not include a side-scroller.
Hey there, there is no crop feature yet. Coming in the future. :) (If you are wanting to change your artboard size, you can do that from the settings cog up in the top right of the screen.
I searched everywhere before checking the comments 😆 how crazy there's no crop! There's some minor tweaks it could use but Kittl is certainly a lot of fun so far.
I'm curious. Mac or Windows user? 🤔 Either way, these shortcuts will work, but I gotta know!
Las Vegas Mac User!
Hey there, Drew. I use Windows...Heritage Designer works great on it. Textures info was very useful in this tutorial. Regards, Sharron
@@SharronRogersexpressiveART Good to know! Thanks for watching!

Mac user here and these shortcuts are killin'!! Great video, very clear instructions!!
Glad you like them.
What an amazing thing you have done, I’m very much a Novice in designing but I cannot wait to sign up, thank you so much
You are most welcome! I hope you enjoy using Kittl!
Super illustratively presented.
Thank you Drew!

This program is a delight to use as a Mac user. You guys have done a great job, thanks v.m.

That's great! Really glad you are constantly getting more familiar with the Designer!
Very heplful for those who are not UX designer ! vielen Dank !
Glad you found it helpful! Have you enjoyed using the Designer so far?
Awesome tutorial, I'm used to most of the basic commands within using many graphic design packages, great to see these in use with Kittl 😎🤘
Super glad you enjoyed this! And thank you for using Kittl! :)
This is brilliant - thanks so much! :)

YAY this was very helpful thank you sooooo much

Yes. You can always add multiple textures, but releasing a texture makes in no longer available for clipping. Glad you like it!
Glad it go figured out 👍
Thanks for this video!

A cool addition for the illustration panel would be some gamepads. For people that may want to make a gaming logo, that would be helpful.
Cool idea! Have you searched "gamer tags" yet? We have some pretty awesome illustrations in there that are perfect for gamers.
just getting into kittl, but its already amazing!!

is there a way to see the project size as you change it within the work? also is there a way to cut a project in half?

I love this program. I am hoping subscription service will be available soon. I don't have 10 friends.
Yes, very very soon it will be available! :)
An Annual or even lifetime sub would be good!
As an update, billing is now available if you haven't see it yet! www.kittl.com/user/settings/subscription
Do you have an estimate of when "MASKING" will be available?
Hey there. We do not have a specified estimate due to the complexity of the feature, but it is currently being worked on as we speak!
@@Kittldesign mask with other pre-determined shapes? Or freehand/bezier curve drawn masks?? (Asking for a "friend" 😉)
@@jonkonves6299 For the first iteration, it will only be with shapes, not drawn masks.
Question: So if you don't "release" the texture, you can't move it to another layer? I'm confused.
