Fitting a rear bumper guard on a Hyundai Ioniq (all models 2016-2022)

- My Hyundai Ioniq has scratches and paint damage on the rear bumper where the previous owner has scraped the bumper when putting things in the boot. In this video, I fit a plastic rear bumper guard to cover the existing paint damage and to protect the painted bumper from future damage. I found two rigid plastic bumper protection guards and in this video I install the Automotiva product. This fits all Hyundai Ioniqs from 2016 to 2022.

That's a really tidy job. These after-market things often look a bit tawdry (I've seen several cheap-looking Ioniqs with cheap looking wind-deflectors on, for example), but this bumper guard really looks like an integral part of the car.
I’ve fitted ones like this on most of the cars I’ve had. No RGM one for Leaf unfortunately but I found an Avisa one instead (Polish company, via a German eBay seller) which is working great.
Nice will get one for e expert van
Once again very useful. You've prompted me to get one from RGM for my ZS EV.
Glad to help!
Useful video, I was looking at one for my i3. It is helpful to see the technique for applying it.
We used to have two i3s and I fitted something similar to both as that too is prone to being scratched on the top of the bumper.
Looks factory fitted.
It does
I have a blanket and it also keeps the ‘level’ boot of my e2008 clean but that’s a great idea. I will have a look out for what’s available!
Nice job but aesthically not for me.
Looks good and handy tip on how to fix it.👍👏
does look good. Have you got a rubber mat inside the boot as well?
Yes. Its just a bit of rubber matting that I cut to size. You can buy it on eBay.
Matt , many thanks just checked and cannot find one for an MG 4 unfortunately . Essential if you frequently transport a dog !
Might be worth emailing both suppliers and asking if they have plans for an MG4 version. I did that in the past for a boot liner from Hatchbag and they invited me up to take measurements from the car so they could produce the new product.
@@GoGreenAutos Yes I will try it thanks again.
Looks great. Could one use a transparent film (like used for wrapping) to protect?
Yes you could do, but mine already had some paint chips, so they would still be visible.
