In the UK we do say until the hour but once the minutes have surpassed 30. for example we will say 'It's 20 to (minutes) 10'' which = 09:40. in addition we have half past and quarter past and quarter to.
7:40 I got the answer I needed (I commented on part one) - ok so Polish "half to", whereas in the UK we say "half past" - this is definitely something I need to make a note of - dziękuję bardzo!
Thank you so much for taking the time to do these videos.I love the way you break the words down into two or more sounds,It make it much easier to pronounce everything. My Polish friends have complemented me on my pronunciation so it really works. I see you haven't done any videos for 5 months have you stopped now? I really hope not, Please do more.
Hi Sewelina, I am Nishantha from Sri Lanka. I am training to come to poland for job. your lessons are wery useful and very essay to understand. only one week i have stuttered to see your videos. Still i am going in your basic videos. Thank you very mach sewelina and may God Bless you.

Hey ewelina we want another video of polish language you are really great teacher I have learned so much from your videos Love u alot❤️😘 Please🙏 make more video
hello Ewelina, im learning polish as my boyfriend is polish and it would be great to learn the entire language and communicate with his family. ive been trying to learn polish for good few years. im now getting myself really into it but im still at the basics and your videos are helping learn the pronunciation. but i suggest if you do a video regarding asking questions of 'would you'. questions like, 'would you like a drink', 'would you like get something to eat', 'would you like to go out'; as well as examples of answers or the beginning of an answer. questions likes these i feel like they would help because its the basics. Thanks x
Cześć Ewelina! I'm from South Korea who study Polish on my own. 4 years ago I met some Polish friends from China, and I get so interesting about your language. I was study on my own but I stop to learn it cause of my college studies. And this year I met new Polish friends, and I start to study again. Thank you so much to teach me and other persons to learn Polish. I really love your teaching Polish Channel. I want to learn so hard and want to go to Poland for study. I'll never give up it! XD I love Polish so much.
I'm finding these videos very helpful, I'm currently learning Polish with Rosetta stone and struggling a little. I just wondered if you had a video on asking if someone is ok after you have found them injured or sick? I had a moment last week where I was struggling to communicate with someone who had injured there leg, they were Norwegian but I'm learning Polish so thought it would be good to know how ask it in Polish. Some phrases like "Hello how can I help" "I'm here to help you" "where have you hurt yourself, do you need an ambulance?" "Do you have any medical conditions?" (someone may be diabetic or have allergies and other conditions that would need urgent medical help). I just think it would be good know, as you never know when someone might need your help and being able to communicate with them could make all the difference.
Hi Ewelina. I'm a fan of your polish classes and I'd like to suggest you, as a way to give more ways to the brain fix the words, once the polish for beginners is like a soup of consonants and words empty of signification. It would be great if you could add as a brief comment in your videos the meaning of the words (when they exist of course). For example: In spanish, the days of the week are related to planets (lunes (moon), martes (mars), miercoles (mercury) and so on), in brazillian portuguese are related to numbers (segunda (second), terca (third), quarta (fourth) and so on) or as in english (sun+day, Mon+day, etc). I heard about one polish month that's the name is a three specific of that month and that november is something related to the outumn. Well, keep doing this amazing job and helping us to learn polish.
Thank you so much, Ewelina for these beautifully constructed lessons. I have just started learning Polish for the first time with you starting yesterday. I have no particular reason to learn other than I have always been curious about the language. You teach in such an accessible way that it makes it fun and I like how you pause and get us to get the numbers, in your numbers video, that’s a great technique! I honour your patients and respect you so much!
You make it fun because of your enthusiasm and pace. I also love how you have the words appear on the screen and you’ve already explained the alphabet in your previous video.
Love your channel! can you make a video about what to say at the counter in grocery-stores etc? Like card or cash, what currency will you pay in? Do you need a bag or can I have a bag? That sort of stuff :)
Your smile is so much cute and amazing,I’m not a sweet talker but if I could say something romantic, you’d be the only one I’d say it to.you are my favourite teacher.I love your smile mam💝
In Germany the same thing, we count further than 12 o'clock when it comes to telling the time in the afternoon or in the evening. I would have added kwadrans po..., by the way, in addtion to piętnaście po...
Czeszc Ewelina. See how funny it sounds like for us french when you say "dziesiatej" (it's ten o'clock). Sounds like "j'ai chanté" which means "I have sung".
Just because there are various ways to tell the same time doesn't mean we have to be bombarded with them all in the one lesson. My brain switched off once you started with alternatives.
Hej, Thank You For The Helpful Videos With Polish ❤ I'm Actively Learning it And Love Learning It!! I can't wait for Christmas In Poland!! I have a question regarding cases, they can get a little complicated even for someone with a Young Brain like me, Will I still be understood well if I do not change the noun in a certain sentence? A basic example like if I said, Jestem Dziecko, instead of Jestem Dzieckiem or something like, nie jestem pies, instead of nie jestem psa. Thank You So Much For Your Efforts And Great Videos, keep up the Great Work!!
any chance you can put some words in Polish behind you that we could also learn while we're reading and listening to you not just on the screen but behind you somehow either on the screen or physically behind you I don't know if you get the idea what I'm talking about but just to Aid us and learning we can read the words while we're Elsa learning different words for you suppose just as many words written down as your speaking great job keep it up thank you
I dont completely understand, because you say 14:30 in a way but later you start to say 13:30, 15:30 and again 14:30 but in a different way straight away. Im getting quite confused.
Hi Ewelina, I am from Indonesia (jestem z Indonezji) but I live in the Netherlands, I follow your video and I notice on delivery * How to tell time in Polish // part2 * You say 11:10 "Dziesięc po Jedenasta" on the screen you write "Dziesięc po Dziesiąta" I think it is not right!
Have you got any way of remembering that "clock" in polish is "zegar" - as I can never remember it on my flashcards. In English its easy to remember "clock" because we say things like "its one o'clock" or its twelve o'clock, (shortened from twelve "of the clock") but you never say things like "jest jeden z zegar" lol so I dont have any synaptical links between telling the time and "zegar". Every time I turn that flash card over I'm like "what was zegar again?".
Cześć Ewelina I'm here now in Poland .thank you so much because it's very helpful

Time: 10:30
Brits will say "It's half past ten"
Poles will say "Jest wpół do jedenastej (It's half till eleven)"
Killkor Similar to German which also has “half before” or “half until” but never “half past”
We (Americans) also say "half past"
We say "Half ten" in Britain too
Yeah this really confused me so much so I looked for answers and found these videos, they are epic!
dziekuje bardzo Ewelina ! ty jestes pieknie 😘
