Your English is so good! It’s honestly almost a 100% correct. What you said wasn’t a bad way of saying it. Here in the US, we have so many dialect and accents. People say things differently everywhere. I can’t always understand what Irish and Scottish people are saying bc it’s so different. You should be proud of how you’re speaking.
Wait, I love it when you say “wetten your hair.” I am a native English speaker, and while it’s not proper English, it’s clear what you mean. That saying could be your catch phrase honestly, it’s great. Don’t let the grammar police get you down.
I had hip length hair until I went through chemo 2 years ago. I had a hair Buddha haircut for a while. I used to complain about my hair, but I wish I had my long hair back, but at least I have hair again and it's well past the sticking straight up phase. 😅
@u4riahsc I do! I went from my natural level 3 (think so dark brown that without sunlight it looks black) to level 6 copper. I could never color my hair when it was long because it would have cost so much money or taken about 16 oz of color and a whole 16 Oz bottle of developer.
I went through chemo too! Lost my hair twice. For me, (and maybe just me, idk) it taught me not to be so attached to my hair and that as long as I’m healthy, I’ll rock a buzz cut if the feeling strikes. Obviously it’s my own thing, and I completely get missing your long hair. But hey, we’re here! And we’re beautiful with or without hair. When I see these people crying on camera over a bad haircut, saying it’s “the worst thing ever”, sometimes I want to shake them and tell them how much worse it could be! But that’s just me and my perspective, I know it’s hard for them. Such big hugs to you and congratulations on making it through! Here’s to a happy healthy life!!!🥰🌟🌸

I've been thinking about cutting my long hair (getting it cut - I have a fantastic hair dresses), but reading all the folks in the comments here about regretting going short or mid length after cutting their long hair has me reconsidering. I'm definitely going to hit her up soon, though, to trim my bangs and refresh my layers
I had my hair to my butt, twice. First time I cut it under my shoulders but the hair was damaged by constand home coloring and by no real care anyway so it was better from all sides. But second time I had my hair to my butt and it was in way better condition and pretty. I was taking waaaay better care, stopped to use color eventually and was lucky it faded in a way it looked like reverse ombre with faded auburn-ish bottom half peeking through and seemingly naturally blending into my natural dark blond/light brown-ish hair in the upper half, I knew better styles, in short, my hair looked GOOD. And I came to the hairdresser and said take it under my chin. She didn't really want to but I did and I was very happy, no regrets. I loved how my face looked, my hair also looked way thicker than usual, I was different but the hairdresser did it in a way very suiting my face. Also it grew quickly, I feel that it got under my shoulders again so fast.
Strengthen, lighten, dampen, shorten, brighten... Not one English speaker would be confused by “wetten”. I honestly wouldn’t worry about your English. You’re perfectly understood. There are so many irregularities. Who cares if it’s “perfect” or not when spoken as a second language? (Us native speakers can butcher the language often enough anyway. ;) )
We love the way you articulate things! We know what you mean and it's always great advice. You're also very kind with your assessments. I started watching during the pandemic and never stopped! ❤
The people that critique a non English speaking person for speaking English "incorrectly", probably also have a hard time differentiating between there, their, and they're. And are insecure a-holes. Love your channel Hair Buddha ❤❤❤
I’ve been cutting my hair since the pandemic. Going to the barber next week for the first time since COVID. My mother helped me to curl my hair and complained about all my layers. I can cut my aunts hair (and she loves what I do) since I can see what I’m doing at every angle but it’s hard to cut your own hair since you can’t see every angle of your own head. I can cut my hair, but it’s just not as good as what I can do for my aunt and what the barber can do for me. I can feel this woman’s pain since that’s kind of what I did the first time but with a razor. It didn’t look too bad, it was just very edgy and I looked emo lol but these things never go how you want them to especially on the first try. Anyway, Happy Eclipse Day, Hair Buddha.
I preferred her hair long. But to each their own. I have cut my hair from long to pixie a few times...years ago. I always regretted it. I cut it in a bob about 2 years ago (it was about 10 inches past my shoulders) I liked it for about 2 days and then I regretted it again. I want my long hair back!!! I'm letting it grow. I only trim the ends about every 2 months.
Language is fluid and always evolving. English is a mish mash of many languages. At one time "wet your hair" would not have been considered proper English. Wetten, I prefer wetten. Means to make something wet with water. I like it! Please Hair Buddha, keep 'wetten' in your vocabulary. I 🫶 it!
I think you are perfect. Your English is great. I love watching your videos, I just wish people would listen to your knowledge from having a salon. I wish you lived in the states. 4:35
Of course my Monday morning HB and coffee routine ☕️. I’m extremely anxious about these dangerous storms coming this afternoon in East TX, so I’m happy to have a short distraction.
I am In Cape Town South Africa and we have also jad some violent storms since Saturday. One road along the coast had to be closed because of the wind. So much beach sand has blown across a very busy road making it impossible to use. Some schools closed cos the kids can't get there. It's WIIIIIIIIINDY with a bit of rain.
@@CurlyCrowie oh no! Sending prayers your way! We are under a level 3 risk for storms, so high probability of hail (possibly up to baseball size), high winds, tornadoes, and flooding. 😫 starts this afternoon, and will go through Wednesday.
@@karenneill9109 it’s set to start right at the end of the eclipse, so everyone will still be able to see the eclipse happen. However, anyone who traveled here to see it is in for a rough trip back home.

My cuz messaged from the States telling me about the storm warning there after she was bombarded with pics from SA
I did this last week: cut my long hair to my shoulders, but I used hairdressing scissors and did small sections at a time. I started longer than I wanted and cut a bit of length off at a time til I was happy with it. Then I sectioned it, pulled it upwards and layered it a little. It turned out ok. I should've filmed it and put it on tiktok. LOL
I love the way you pronounce words in English. They might not all be correct but it is you and perfect. Besides, very very very few people that speak English speak it correctly. Very few. As for the cut …. Yikes! The sound of those scissors cutting her hair was worse than nails on a chalkboard. She looks good with long and short hair but the short looks better on her face.
Awwww I saw this girl and her videos before!! And she looks sooo cute. I would die for hair like that. I also don't think the cut was bad, just the method.
I love listening to u talk. Anyway, no, its not just hair. I think im going thru a thing right now where the only thing i like about myself IS my hair. Its curly and when younger, i hated it but know, its cut right (i did it myself) and it curls soooo nice and lays just right. If i didnt have my hair or it couldnt/wouldnt do what i wanted it to do, i dont think i would go out much at all and i dont mean that to sound vain, if it does. I am just getting older, 59, and like i said in the beginning, i think im just going thru something right now and at least my hair doing good gives me the bit of confidence i need to be able to go out for groceries and to doc appts and other necessary places. I dont go out to enjoy myself or anything so, yea... maybe its just me. 😢

Well, most of us English speakers know that "wetten your hair" is simply Hair Buddha's way of saying "get your hair wet." We know what you mean. I personally like it when those who speak English as a second language make grammatical errors. It adds a bit of "personality" to it. I'm familiar with Hair Buddha's way of speaking, and that's what makes it charming. I'm sure Dutch and German speakers think the same about my imperfect way of speaking their languages.
Thank you for bringing up cancer. I lost all my hair and have a huge scar on top of my head. I’ll never have nice hair again and I had nice curly ringlets before. Now it’s just thin frizz no matter what I do 😢
I’m very lucky to be able to have long or short hair, and dark or light hair. I recently went from long dark hair to the middle of my back to platinum pixie of about 2 inches in length. For those wondering, it was not a chemical cut😂 I cut off my hair a week before bleaching. No regrets!! 😊

i could feel her hair screaming in agony while being butchered 😆 i've been cutting my own hair for like 15 years, but i always need help to get the back straight. it's physically impossible to do that while you're moving your head and arms around. Mom to the rescue!
Please do not change the way you speak. It sounds lovely. Also, it helps us English speakers understand other languages sentence structures. Then when we start learning words, we have a better understanding of how to say the words correctly in a sentence in the native language. I watch this Korean woman who does a lot of cooking stuff on her channel. She speaks in English, but still uses the Korean sentence structure, and its so helpful in getting comfortable with that type of sentence structure. So please don't change! Plus wetten your hair sounds fine in English as well. English speakers know what you mean.

She had so beautiful hair!!!! 😭😭😭
You know what, usually these people that are picky about the grammar of others, are those that only speak one language. You’re doing g great, J.
Every time I see one of these, I am so glad my Sister is a licensed Hair Professional.
Girl shouldn't have done anything to her hair. It was perfect for her. Perfect color and haircut.
The people that critique a non English speaking person for speaking English "incorrectly", probably also have a hard time differentiating between there, their, and they're. And are insecure a-holes. Love your channel Hair Buddha ❤❤❤
Also "you are" and "your"
hair Buddha is my favourite way to start the day
also I love it when you say wetten your hair it's become like your "tik tok" pronunciation it's iconic!
3:45 I looooove this dejected look of Hair Buddha 😂😂😂 It's like he's silently saying "Gone case"🤪🤪🤪
The look on your face is priceless! love it!!
Please don't stop saying "Wetten" referrering to 'to make your hair wet'. We love this phrase & use it ALOT in our house!❤🤗
I 🫶 it!
I LOVE this channel....truly I learn a lot here.
I think you are perfect. Your English is great. I love watching your videos, I just wish people would listen to your knowledge from having a salon. I wish you lived in the states. 4:35
Solar eclipse 🌘 and Hair Buddha what a day ❤️
Of course my Monday morning HB and coffee routine ☕️.
At the same time as the eclipse!?! Enjoy the amazing power of nature!
@@karenneill9109 it’s set to start right at the end of the eclipse, so everyone will still be able to see the eclipse happen. However, anyone who traveled here to see it is in for a rough trip back home.
@@karenneill9109 thats what someone posted on one of the community pages.
House roofs were blown off about 45mins drive from me. I am 15 mins drive from where the beach sand is in the road but we do not need to go that way. Where I live it's quite safe from storms.
My cuz messaged from the States telling me about the storm warning there after she was bombarded with pics from SA
She looked good with the bob cut. Suits her face. Love the video HB😊
People that criticize our HB don’t have to watch 👋🏻. Never change , we love you just the way you are 💙
I did this last week: cut my long hair to my shoulders, but I used hairdressing scissors and did small sections at a time. I started longer than I wanted and cut a bit of length off at a time til I was happy with it. Then I sectioned it, pulled it upwards and layered it a little. It turned out ok. I should've filmed it and put it on tiktok. LOL
NOOOOO! I LOVE 😂your way of speaking! Every time you say “You need to wetten your hair” 🥰🥰 I LOVE IT & SMILE! Btw- I do agree about learning.
I love the way you say things never change ❤
You can always braid it when you are going to sleep. That's what I do.
Hip/thigh length hair here - I used to braid it before bed, but nowadays I just toss on a silk bonnet. No issues with it getting rolled on!
She had so beautiful hair! Oh my...
Yes! New video from Hair Buddha! ❤🎉
If I had hair like that and wanted to cut it short I'd certainly be watching Hair Buddha videos prior to doing it!!
You are a classy, humble guy, HB.
I like “wetten” ur hair better to be honest, but anyone learning a second language should never apologise for a mistake its so amazing that your learning a second ❤ and love these videos 💕
Yay new hair Buddha video 👍
Well, most of us English speakers know that "wetten your hair" is simply Hair Buddha's way of saying "get your hair wet." We know what you mean. I personally like it when those who speak English as a second language make grammatical errors. It adds a bit of "personality" to it. I'm familiar with Hair Buddha's way of speaking, and that's what makes it charming.
I'm sure Dutch and German speakers think the same about my imperfect way of speaking their languages.
I always love when you say wetten ❤
Thank you for bringing up cancer. I lost all my hair and have a huge scar on top of my head. I’ll never have nice hair again and I had nice curly ringlets before. Now it’s just thin frizz no matter what I do 😢
I've definitely heard "wetten" from the mouths of native English speakers so I kinda just see it as a testament to how fluent you actually are
I’m very lucky to be able to have long or short hair, and dark or light hair. I recently went from long dark hair to the middle of my back to platinum pixie of about 2 inches in length. For those wondering, it was not a chemical cut😂 I cut off my hair a week before bleaching. No regrets!! 😊
I'm desperately trying to grow my hair and here are all these people chopping it off like there´s no tomorrow......and her hair was beautiful, the length, the thickness, the color
I also like my glasses, I love being able to see
😂😂😂
Please please please don't stop saying wetten, I now use it! I learnt a very little Dutch (Flemish though) so it makes me feel nostalgic annnnnnnddddddd it's so freaking cute
I love how u say wetten! Don’t change that! 😊
I like the way you say "wetten your hair." If you'd like, you could also say "wet your hair." Either way, I love your videos!
I would love her hair! The color and cut!
Ah no wetten the hair was the cutest thing ever 😢
How many languages do those people speak perfectly? Your English is FANTASTIC!
i could feel her hair screaming in agony while being butchered 😆
i've been cutting my own hair for like 15 years, but i always need help to get the back straight. it's physically impossible to do that while you're moving your head and arms around. Mom to the rescue!
Great tips & thanks Hair Buddha 😊👍✂️
I love `wetten your hair` xox
Please do not change the way you speak. It sounds lovely. Also, it helps us English speakers understand other languages sentence structures. Then when we start learning words, we have a better understanding of how to say the words correctly in a sentence in the native language. I watch this Korean woman who does a lot of cooking stuff on her channel. She speaks in English, but still uses the Korean sentence structure, and its so helpful in getting comfortable with that type of sentence structure.
So please don't change! Plus wetten your hair sounds fine in English as well. English speakers know what you mean.
She could braid her hair when she goes to sleep. She is such a beautiful girl with such beautiful hair. But I get it. It's hot and heavy. But at least go to a hair dresser when you really want to get it cut. Dutch speaker here too. From Holland though. 😄
