    I have so tried to follow many of these philosophers certainly Marcus Aurelius is one of my favorites. There is much to be learned from meditation on a deep level, life will reveal itself to you. I thank you for all your research and teaching of these brilliant men. The morning holds many certainties, I welcome the morning in a different way now!🌹❤️

    Epictetus, one of the most influential Stoic philosophers, emphasized the importance of focusing on what we can control and accepting what we cannot.

    1⃣ I did good.
    2⃣ They received the benefit.
    3⃣ 🤔 Where is my recognition?
    Marcus Aurelius:
    1⃣ ✅ You did good.
    2⃣ 🎉 They received the benefit. Awesome!

    55:01 loving it. Wanted to chime in. I actually learned alot from listening to other peoples needs. Is how I gained my powerful eyes. So as a kind of stoic myself I understand the difference between the first and second arrow. That is the first arrow is objective the 2nd is self inflicted. But from this position I'm also like a mirror and I can through that mirror see another's reflection of that moment only. This gave me insight into cause and effect, dependent origination, body language, and how a person goes about constructing a self. It's like with scientists that study apes in the wild. I am at heart an agnostic scientist. I have done many paths like stoicism meditation psychedelics dreaming self inquiry archetype yoga and these were all great studies. But I find studying human interaction more exhilarating for some reason. I would go homeless to mingle with homeless people just to see their minds unfold as a moment by moment arising so I could better learn to communicate with them. So luck factors into success more then hard work. Science is now uncovering this but I knew this long ago through these experiences I had with people. And by learning about these unfortunate circumstances I learned that sometimes it is not the flowers fault it did not bloom maybe its the wrong season or the soil was not up to the task. Certain events having not occured made the flower weaker or certain events having occured made the flower weaker. Then I stop expecting that they attain as I have. I have been on this road too long. For me the head guy in charge should probably do lesser work and more morale and welfare. It's how apes do it. Alphas are there to control fights console people in need and provide direction and provide a role model. They have tons of empathy more then females because they need empathy in order to better decide how to navigate their environment. Ceos can learn a lot from apes. Notice how you go but it's their fault. Question that. What is cause and effect? What is liberation from cause and effect? Not to say we are ever free but to say how do we come to control ourselves as we navigate it. So the role model of highest efficiency won't say its their fault. They will say still needs time to mature before they are free. Its a way of saying noone is at fault but we can do better and the best way to do it is not to say it but to show it. That's a role model. Too often is talk considered the only way to communicate. Virtue exists for a reason and morality is inferior to it. But in their memories what they see will determine how they view. The man of virtue knowing this becomes the example and avoids talking about it unless the other is ready. And consistency and integrity are what shine brightest in memory.

    45:37, I think that the reading aspect should include the rereading one, which was pointed in another video. There are different types of readers, of books and of motivations. Reading isn't the sole way/mean of obtaining knowledge. Reading is just a way for someone to transmit content or obtain it. The stoics offered verbal lessons, oral history and education was a big part of that era as is way one of the few ways of obtaining knowledge if not the sole way. Now, writing can be tricky as it works with abstract notions, but, aren't written words based on oral words? So, in the end, books are a way to store and easier transfer knowledge.

      Entry level stoic philosophy can bring many people to the meaningful stuff you like. You probably started somewhere slightly embarrassing and now you're commenting like a lot of people who will also eventually comment about that next step towards the true philosophy we all need. Interesting how you're so critical of Trump but seem to ignore Churchill's atrocities. Churchill's role in the Bengal famine, where millions died, and his staunch defense of imperialism are well-documented. Isn't it a double standard to condemn one leader's flaws while overlooking the crimes of another? Care to explain?

    • @Chris-fn4df
      @Chris-fn4df 24 дня назад

      It isn’t about the leader, it is about the message of the one action. Every person has something wrong with them, and we don’t throw the baby out with the bath water.
      If you can find something Trump said that resonates with stoic philosophy or something he did that resonates with that, why don’t you let us all know about it?
      Instead of complaining that we don’t see something you want us to see, why don’t you point it out to us?
