as i mentioned earlier in this vlog, i intended to go out west to launch a new shironuri series, where i create a look based on my experiences and observations traveling somewhere new. i'd love to go to more faraway places in the future, but in the meanwhile i traveled to washington and yellowstone on the cheap by mostly camping, buying no souvenirs, and keeping eating out to a minimum. or at least i tried not to eat out as much...also i need to go on a diet for the next 7 years after how much i ate. good grief.
anyways, this isn't my only destination this year. i plan on going to the east coast in december...wonder where i could be going?
see you soon!

I'm so sorry love, it's over 25 years since my Grandma died and I still miss her. It's really hard and really difficult, but holding on to her memory is something I'm sure she would love to know you intended to do. I also really understand about the anger and frustration you feel about not being able to afford that final trip to see your Grandmother. My Dad died 5 years ago and we had the exact same problem. I don't think I'll ever stop being angry about that, especially when my family could have afforded to help us out.
Don't suppress your feelings, they are totally valid and you have every right to have them. You will slowly figure out a way to hold those feelings in a more comfortable emotional place in time. I look forward to seeing what work you pull out of your memories and experiences of this trip, I hope one day to visit those state parks myself. I hope one day you manage to come over here to Scotland, we have so many amazing and beautiful places to visit and camp!
I've lived in Washington my whole life, and seeing it through tourists eyes was a treat! I love my state and I'm grateful you could enjoy it as well. Come back soon!
Also, I'm sorry for your loss. I bless your family with love and light.
This was a really beautiful video. I'm so sorry for your loss and wish you got to see your grandmother one last time. I understand what it's like having grandparents in another country. 3 of mine died when I was under the age of 10, and I never got to meet them. I only ever met one, and she didn't speak English well enough for me to say anything other than hi. She died like a year later and my mom wasn't able to afford to go to her funeral either.
Oh Ann, I'm so sorry for your loss, cancer is such a horrible illness. I hope this road trip helpped you find some peace. I really enjoyed this video from you you're such a great storyteller. I'm glad you got to come see the Pacific Northwest, I'm from Oregon, but Seattle and the evergreen state is now my home, and I absolutely love it here. Pike Place is so fun to check out I know it's touristy, but I still enjoy going. The Sam also has an Asian specific Art Museum, the SAAM in Volunteer Park, it's currently expanding and going under renovations until early next year. you also made me realize I need to be more grateful living so close to the ocean, the ocean and the green is definitely something I realized I took for granted moving away for the Pacific Northwest for a few years and I definitely need the reminder to be grateful for the beauty that I live right next to. I hope you're able to check it out if you visit again. Thanks for also sharing your bit at the Olympics, I've only been in the rainforest in South America so I've been itching to get to the Olympics and experience their rainforest. Again this was an absolutely beautiful video, your cadence and storytelling is a pleasure to watch.
Very sorry to hear about your grandmother.
Odd about the museum. Seattle does have a completely separate museum dedicated to Asian art, though. If you're ever in the area again, look up SAAM (Seattle Asian Art Museum)
Didn't know you were here! Hope your trip was good overall!
Thank-you so much for sharing your road trip with us, the footage of the beach was stunning! i'm so sorry to hear about the passing of your grandmother but i'm glad the trip helped you through the grieving process
Gorgeous footage of your trip! Thanks for sharing. Really looking forward to seeing the look inspired by your trip. So sorry for your loss.
I'm sorry for your loss! I really love the video, thanks for showing us!
this made me wanna take a roadtrip through the pacific northwest! Never been further north than San Francisco and it seems so damn beautiful! Happy you had such therapeutic places to go to after hearing the news about your grandmother :/ I'm fortunate that my grandmother lived close to me (although I didn't speak Spanish so there was a different kind of barrier there...)
Understandable to be frustrated about not being able to afford to see her when all these influencers have money to splurge on thousands of dollars of makeup all the while getting it for free (although it took lots of hard work to get there) But anyway, beautiful blog and look forward to whatever makeup looks come out of this
So sorry to hear about your grandmother. My fathers parents passed away in Vietnam, as well as my aunt. I haven’t been back since 2005 (time and money). I hope you’ll be able to go back one day. 💜💚
Thanks for sharing your journey. This vlog makes me want to go back out West and really explore.
So sorry for your loss hun. Last year I dealt with the passing of my great aunt who I was close with. I also encountered bed bugs for the first time last year at a sleepy hotel and it was so awful. I freak the fuck out when I even think there are bed bugs. I can understand why you'd never want to be in a hotel ever again. Don't even blame you. Take care
Kehinde and Wyeth 🙌
I love the way you film and edit your videos. I don't usually watch travel videos, but these are so calm and serene. Loved how you incorporated some of your makeup tutorial shot styles too. 😊❤️
I hope the best for you, cheer up and remember your grandmother with a smile! Love you
❤ my thoughts are with you in your time of grief
I'm glad you came and visited us up here in Washington State. Your trip looked so nice and relaxing. Looks like you visited Snoqualmie Falls. I still need to go see it. I'm very sorry about your hamoni. May she rest in peace. I laughed so hard when your hubby askef you to please not to tell people how he lives at 24:09. I hope you come visit us again.
Just beautiful!💚
there's a separate art museum, the SAAM (Seattle Asian Art Museum) in Capitol Hill that is specifically for asian artists
You haven’t seen the ocean since 2005???? Damn, sometimes I forget to appreciate I always live near the ocean :)
Sorry for your loss. It is infuriating that you couldn't even go see your grandma one last time, compared to this whole controversy about the beauty community...Also forget about the art museum, I'd say the real work of art is the nature and scenery you got to enjoy. I definitely think it's more inspiring.
