how 18 people could dislike Suzanne Bryan is beyond me! you are amazing and have helped me become a better knitter, love your lessons and your excellent teaching style ❤️
Thank you very much for this video and every video. You make it easy to understand. I'm still going through it but I'm writing notes here for myself and anyone else that it might like it. 7:16 various increases
That’s my favorite scarf pattern! I’ve completed dozens of them. Great explanation, thanks. My go to bind off is slightly stretchy and works well with this pattern. K2tog tbl - slip that stitch back onto the left needle and repeat K2tog tbl slip to left ....
Thank you for this great explanation. I am someone who really likes to know why and how things work so I very much appreciate this video. Helps to better understand what’s happening in a pattern. More please! 👍🏼😀
Thank you! As a fairly new knitter, this video explained more about technique and stitches than anyone else's. Having us watch as you Drew the diagram was a big help as I am a visual learner.
Not yet! But the pattern is in the tutorial that goes with this series of videos - www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/lacework---a-skill-building-tutorial
I want to knit an asymmetrical shawl for f dil w sections of different stitches. Do you have a video on how to incorporate different stitches while increasing & decreasing? Thank you!!!!
Thanks for the very clear tutorial! I’m curious to know what happens if you play with some of the numbers as I’d like to create a shawl/scarf with a narrower shape: what happens if you have 3 increases on the right side and 2 decreases on the left? I can’t visualize if it would create a triangle that “leans” to the right more dramatically and so becomes longer faster than it becomes wider? or if maybe it would spiral, which is not what I’m after. I hope I explained my question well. Thanks!
Get some graph paper and draw out your plan. Add 3 stitches on the right and remove 2 on the left and keep moving up. You will see the shape the is created. I use graph paper all the time. Happy knitting.
This is part of a lace tutorial that I have on Ravelry - www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/lacework---a-skill-building-tutorial. Otherwise, you find a design you like, chart it out and swatch it.
Hello Suzanne I just started knitting a month ago. Now I have my first ongoing asymmetrical shawl. I wonder how long/big it should be? Is there a recommended length please?
@@SuzanneBryan Also I have another question. I'm making one where the pattern says I kfb at the end. This is producing a wobly looking edge. How can I do this right?
This is one of several small scarf samples included in my tutorial - "Lacework - a Skill Building Tutorial" on Ravelry - www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/lacework---a-skill-building-tutorial

Thank you so much, Nilda! 😃
Clever, hiding the yarn over increase by knitting in the back on the next row. One is decorative, the other utilitarian. Thanks Suzanne.
You’re welcome 😊

Hi Suzanne, very nice video. Where is the video for the lace part you have on top of the shawl? Thank you!
Thank you! As a fairly new knitter, this video explained more about technique and stitches than anyone else's. Having us watch as you Drew the diagram was a big help as I am a visual learner.
Perfect, thank you! Happy knitting.

Your explanation is clear and interesting, Thank you...I would like to see about the white lace stitch...is there a video about this continuing part?
Not yet! But the pattern is in the tutorial that goes with this series of videos - www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/lacework---a-skill-building-tutorial
Thank you so much I’ve been trying to work that out today & I was almost there 🙏🙏🙏💖💖💖
You are very welcome Debra Cursaro! Happy knitting.
The drawing helped me tremendously.. can this scarf be done on straight needles ? The circular needle is tough physically.

Very informative! Thanks for sharing!

Colleen Coover Creative mind!!! How did it work out for you?
You are a great teacher always, thank you. But I'd like to find how did you start that beautiful white design?
This is part of a lace tutorial that I have on Ravelry - www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/lacework---a-skill-building-tutorial.
Otherwise, you find a design you like, chart it out and swatch it.
If possible could you do a RUclips video tutorial showing how to make the myra shawl by dominique baril-tremblay
I can add this to my video todo list.
Hello Suzanne
I just started knitting a month ago. Now I have my first ongoing asymmetrical shawl. I wonder how long/big it should be? Is there a recommended length please?
There is not recommended length, it is personal preference. Arms length is usually good for a full size shawl.
@@SuzanneBryan Thank you .
@@SuzanneBryan Also I have another question. I'm making one where the pattern says I kfb at the end. This is producing a wobly looking edge. How can I do this right?
where is the pattern for this shawl? please
This is one segment of a tutorial on lacework that I have on Ravelry, You can find it here - ravel.me/lacework---a-skill-building-tutorial
Thank you for this tutorial. I like asymmetrical shawls, and this will help me start one of my own design without using a pattern.
Exactly. Great idea! Happy knitting.
Where is this pattern?

Wow, so difficult!
Not if you just put one foot in front of the other and take one step at a time.
