If a man does not register, he can ...
    1. Be liable for upto $250,000 fine.
    2. Upto 5 years in jail.
    3. Can be refused federal employment for the rest of his life.
    4. Is not eligible for federal student loans.
    5. Will not be able to get a drivers license in some states.
if a woman does not register.
    1. No consequences.

The reason women are exempt from the draft is the patriarchy... Men doesn't think women are strong enough to serve snd should instead be at home. Not a single woman was part of making these decisions, its all men thinking thejre superior.
There has been multiple attempts to get women into the army but it's never gone far. And who's the reason for that? Men!
This is ome lf the the rare times the patriarchy backfired and made it worse for men. I think it'd only be fair to not make it mandatory for men also. Instead lf making it mandatory for women.

If you don't want to serve just choose a different gender - it's all the rage.
But women can join the combat arms now, so there is no reason not to select them.
Does the US have a law that says all places a law says "man" it can be read as saying women" and vice versa?

    • @billburr5881
      @billburr5881 Месяц назад +2

@@1337flite The law states only men are subject to the selective service. If they decide it included women then almost 70% of federal employees could face the sack! If a male federal employee is discovered not to have registered then he can be sacked!
The DoD/SSS have issued a statement about gender identity being irrelevant in their view, I believe.
The federal court has already issued a ruling that the men-only rule is uncontitutional but it was overturned I believe but never made it to the Supreme Court.

It wouldn't work I don't think, as an unwillingly army is worse than a small one with desire to be around

The Selective Service Must Be Updated to Serve ALL Equally!
IOW, qualified males & females would be required to serve a minimum of two years PERIOD. Such service would be located at a site at least 1,000 miles from "home." Not all would serve in the military and such alternative public service might be in hospitals, outreach programs and other public service entities.
It's time to spread the load and responsibility evenly.
I'm just tossing this concept into the ring to adjust the need to maintain the country's needs for all...
