I really enjoyed the series, a short yet entertaining watch. The ending was really unexpected and sad, my boy lost everything and even got thrown in jail. Its really different from the other martial art animes, and has really good animation (The most realistic ive seen so far). I hope they make a season 2 and give Fujimaki justice.
@@Han-nk3ioI actually liked this version of Fujimaki say better than the one Itagaki wrote. @leonardomarquesbellini I read only one tome of Garouden source novel (cause it's in English), but even from just that it's evident the characters of Tanba and Kajiwara were simplified and made tasteless basically. I don't think it was sloppy, but definitely reckless. Felt like it was his ace. Like how Fujimaki baited Oleg into that first Ko-ou. Himekawa did a reckless bait taking a Ko-ou to set up the ace
Himekawa won the fight because master Izumi had previously taught him the "white tiger" maneuver. This resulted in the planning of a counterattack, which otherwise would have been a juzo fujimaki victory.
Yeah, Himekawa trained with master Izumi and was familiar with Takemya moves. Juzo is a perfect all rounder. He has decent striking and duude his grappling is top tier.
They fucked it up,we didn't get any of the FAW fight card or the full Hokushin tournament , we got cheated out of so many top quality fights & interesting characters. This Netflix adaptation is a D- ,I'd give it an F if the fight choreography wasn't good & arguably the most realistic of any MMA anime/manga ever.
Yeah no kurama, sakura, only one frame of tatsumi was dissapointing. Also them completely changing nagata's storyline. But the animation go hard as hell so can't complain much
This isn't based on the manga adaptation - this chapter is a adapted spinoff from the original novels with Fujimaki Jyuzo's perspective, without getting too involved with anyone else. Iirc, the Crybaby Sakura arc was mostly a manga invention and didn't have much story on that from the original. This anime is probably closer to how the original novels went, but from a different POV. If this continues with Season 2 , maybe we'll see Tanba's story
I liked it, I do feel it’s strange they chose just Juzo, since we missed out on so many others! Here’s hoping for the “Fighting Wolves” someday instead of just the “Lonely Wolf”
This anime was cheesey in places but overall really, really enjoyable. This was a good climax to the end of the season, and the fights overall felt quite real, especially with the sound design. Looking forward to seeing it continue
When both the Ending song overlaid with the opening, this fight erupted into being peak, just incredible. Juzo both confronting his past and his inner beast while looking forward, sees the mistakes he made in the past while gaining the strength to face forward finally. While he loses the fight he gains far more in the form of being able to accept what’s happened and being granted a future both with the tournament but alongside a cleared conscience and the bonds he’s made.

It is crazy the move he killed a man with defending his (ex)wife is used on him to knock him out dropping him head first (not into a stone) has shown to be a super effective in this series. Subtly the second best move and the only move in the show explicitly shown to kill.
