    As someone who was brought up in Russia and lived there for the majority of life, I can totally relate to what the "Russian" Candy was talking about. It is heartbreaking there, guys. It is true that homophobic men sometimes find young boys on gay dating websites - and once they meet up, boys have no way to escape and after humiliation or rape they can't even go to the police. Like they really CAN'T, because copes might be supportive of the abuse and violence. When my female friend got raped for coming out, she didn't report it. She lived in a small village where pretty much everyone was homophobic, and she was ashamed of her orientation too.. so imagine what it would be like for her to go to the police
    When you live in bigger cities, it is easier, yet small towns are just the pure hell for the lgbtq+ community. So yeah, it was really sad to watch. Thanks for bringing up the topic. I needed it.

      Катя Марченко I'm truly sorry for that, I am devoid of the ability to even fathom that place and that mindset. From the bottom of my heart I am truly sorry, I'm not a religious person, but I'll pray for your friends and you yourself. We'll never met in real life, but you'll be in the back of my mind for the rest my life. I mean it, I'll pray and I'll hope there is a way out for the People you know and love, and that they and yourself get Closure after that hell.
      If me saying this is worth anything at all, know everyone is (you, loved ones, all survivors)A HUMAN BEING. We all feel pain, regret, doubt, anger, and hatred towards an unfair world. So we are all humans to beginning, middle, and end. I don't care if you pay attention to me, I hope you have nice day and a wonderful life more then anything else.

      This is the kind of things I worry about. I'm not gay, but I hate hearing someone got beat up or worse for being who they are. I believe in God though I wouldn't call myself a christian cause I kinda hate some of the dogma & etc. that entails. One of my oldest friends is BI and I am terrified for her sometimes cause the world can be a cruel place. America can be just as bad as Russia there's a lot of evangelical Christians that believe that the way to "convert the gays" is to make laws against it. There are also a lot of hate groups in america that would probably do something similar to what you said. It is getting better, the supreme court in america has made it illegal to make laws that forbid states from making laws to keep same sex marriages from happening. Though there is a lot of crap that still needs to be sorted out. I hope that once my generation comes into power in america that we are a little bit smarter.

      Even in America this happen. It scares me to be out even on the internet because at any moment someone could find out who iam and hurt me and the people I am in a community with. Plus there will people that will support that violence. History isn't in the past. it happening right now and it's breaking my heart. When you live in an area that mostly a hatefully community you are terrified everday.

And sure, things could have been way worse (but I doubt I would have lived through that..) but if things hadn't been the way they were, I wouldn't have been as.. developed I am right now. I'm sitting here in a hospital bathroom trying not to cry as I type this. I love this show to pieces and up until this episode, nothing felt so personal. I moved ten times in three different countries before I turned 18 years old and I have lived in the US for the past 12 years now. Every time I left behind friend groups and schools, I always felt a profound loss I could not name. Fast forward to now, I am a 22 year old post-grad with no job who feels like I am disappointing so many people. I was the golden child, I was the great investment, I was supposed to do better. I could have been ten different Tramaine's but here I am. The one who is in a hospital bathroom crying her eyes out and learning to let go of what could have been. I thank God for what is and I swear this episode empowered me to stop cursing and limiting myself. I am trying and sometimes, that is all I can do. Thanks Winston and godspeed 🤘🏾

      I fantasized about being massaged by an ancient bone-setter. He questioned me on all the sprains and fractures my body bore traces of. I answered truthfully, since he wasn't a person who registered much in my day-to-day life. It seemed each injury had resulted from an act of selfishness: a meanness here, a self-gratification there - and he responded to my hazy confessions with a brief nod: a nod both non-committal and yet damningly judgmental. I could explain them all. All except one - a badly strained back-muscle, whose origin I found I had completely forgotten. He said "somebody will know; wait here until they appear". I'm not giving any spoilers though; I'll just say, my bad back was the only evidence he could find of anything good I had done.

    Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
    And sorry I could not travel both
    And be one traveler, long I stood
    And looked down one as far as I could
    To where it bent in the undergrowth;
    Then took the other, as just as fair,
    And having perhaps the better claim,
    Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
    Though as for that the passing there
    Had worn them really about the same,
    And both that morning equally lay
    In leaves no step had trodden black.
    Oh, I kept the first for another day!
    Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
    I doubted if I should ever come back.
    I shall be telling this with a sigh
    Somewhere ages and ages hence:
    Two roads diverged in a wood, and I-
    I took the one less travelled by,
    And that has made all the difference.

I don’t suffer from depression, i wasn’t really an outcast growing up. I make pretty good money at my job. I got married in my early twenties. But now I’m 35, divorced single father starting my life over again. I work a job that stresses me out everyday. So I wonder how my life would be if I made a few different choices. It's nice to think that there is a core me that would be there n matter how my life turned out, and there would be, albeit different, triumphs and failures. That I'm not the "worst version of me.

The me that’s a hopeless drug addict, the me that didn’t take no for an answer from a friend, the me that just couldn’t take it anymore and died. At least I was better than them and I guess that’s still something to be celebrated, that I can live as a decent human being but decent isn’t good is it. I felt so much peace watching this series, like I have gotten a lot out of it, I'm definitely going through this moment in time where I'm focusing on self growth evolution and doing all the things I need to do for myself it's hard, realizing I'm standing in my own way with my thoughts, actions, and feelings. It's crazy, it's scary, it's humbling, it's all excruciating, growth, facing your shit and opening up to it, staring at the mess that you are and accepting it, forgiving yourself, loving yourself, identifying trauma, pain, vices, unhealthy thought processes, actions, literally everything. Getting closure, and or accepting that sometimes you won't get closure, that it's okay not to know what to do that it's okay not to be in control. Finding peace within self. I'm, I'm so messed up but I'm working on me it feels good to find something that shares all of these things in so many ways shapes and forms.

    That was a great analogy about personal sovereignty in relation to voting in other countries. Once again, Cracked has articulated the framing of a philosophy in a way that's difficult to find the argument to dismantle. Most of our elected officials are not on par with these writers. The realization of which is rather distressing.

      But, in that example, there is a very easy extension of it to see. If another country is enacting genocide, or similar, other countries do often get involved, well, if they can. I mean, I cant really think of an example that corresponds to that for the human body, but I mean, the potential for that extension is there I guess.

    • @kolbyjackcorgi

      @@theconeezeanemperor1619 This explanation is somewhat non sequitur and outside of the context in which she gave. One of the things that always pushes me through the tough times is the thought that I am the worst version of myself. Because if you really compare me and my life to others then I’m doing pretty okay. Things could be better I could try to control my anxieties and take more risks but the possibility of other better versions of myself mean that I have the possibility of doing better, being better. The possibility of change can sometimes be enough to keep me going.

    I recently watched a Wisecrack video on VR technology applications. One section talked about using VR as a self-therapy tool by showing you a room with 2 people inside. Sigmund Freud and yourself (a full 3D model of yourself). First, you explain your problems as yourself to Freud, and then you take on the role of Freud as you hear your voice and see yourself explaining your problems. The ability to "talk" to yourself about your problems helps you work through your issues. Similar concept, although not as cool as talking to alternate reality versions of you.

I would be trying to be the type of girl that people wouldn't say "oh hey look, don't trust that person because they're a crazy _____" I wanted to be "one of the good ones" in their eyes.
