Bahaha your folks at the end shaking their heads, cracks me up. Problem-solving throughout the building and overcoming these little hurdles can be rewarding and make the outcome that much more satisfied. Keep up the battle.
The wheel chuck was hilarious 🤣and yes sometimes you just have to stand back and see how it's coming along nice to hear your dad is recovering nicely...🙂👍🙏
Back in the mid to late 60s, I rode many miles in a Lark with dad driving. Days gone by. Keep on keeping brother , you will get done. Waiting on next update and all that follow. Take care of dad!
Dude. We watch your shit because we like the content! Most of us anyway, will understand that we’re all adults and most things in life are way more important than RUclips, all that to say we will be here whenever you are available to upload!
So, I actually like you showing all the little problems you have to overcome. It’s the reality of the work. If it’s never seen, someone who is inspired to take on a project like this will have unrealistic expectations and probably fail.
Man none of your subscribers are more important than your family, if they cant understand that they dont need to be here. Do you and we will be here for you when you get a chance to post a video. Wish your pops well, he took a hellova tumble and i admire him for continuing on with his car hobby
No worries brother! We here for the family! As mentioned in my prior comment, since the car progress content is slow, maybe do a property tour or “a day in the life of” mom, dad, brother, etc. That should be simple to shoot and edit. I’d definitely be interested in seeing it!
Calvin, I really enjoy the video's you make. The Studebaker is my favorite of all of the cars you build. The fact that you take the time to make video's while you are also trying to get wrenching done is awesome. Best wishes to your dad.
Please remember that a lot of us are here for the knowledge that you and your dad have to share. Videos don’t have to be about your current build and racing. It could be a simple tech talk. Suspension setup on one of cars and why you chose it. A specific tool and why you like it. 4200 tuning tips, cam timing, etc.
Looking forward to hearing noise! You’re not failing anyone! Everyone has ups and downs, stay positive, keep moving forward. That studebaker is going to be one unique hot rod.
First, this things gonna be a looker. I can already tell that - those wheels are just made for it. The sound those headers put out will rattle windows for a few miles away 🙂 As to your time between videos, don't worry. If it bothers you a great deal, just do a short or two using your phone. People who follow just want to know everyone's good, healing, getting better. Projects come and go but people... people are what matters here. All the best, take your time and strive to do things the safe way!
Hope your pop is doing better, he's probably chomping at the bit to get back working in the shop, more power to him. I think all of us that are building projects are dealing with parts issues, or just waiting on parts, good luck on the new motor project, always good to see what your dreaming up next.
Keep it up! Love these videos, I’m working on a 59 Studebaker Lark, and I want to build an L83. Not for the lark mind you but for my 89 Camaro. Watching these videos feels like double dipping. I get ideas for both projects!
To the important bit: No worries here, I'll still be looking forward to videos whenever they come out. Hope all the healing continues apace. Now on to my favorite bit: The internal rust discovery sequence was *hilarious*. I watch RUclips on the trainer and I almost had to stop my workout because I nearly fell off the bike laughing.
Man, you don't have to apologize for your circumstances. It's totally OK. At least with me. Take xare of your family and basic needs IRL. YT can always wait. Stay positive, don't sweat the small details too much and take care of your folks. 👌🙂👍
Failing us?!? No WAY, Calvin! Honesty, don’t give yourself extra stress trying to please us. Please yourself and we’ll be pleased that you are! Glad to hear Andrew is on the mend and looking forward to seeing this old girl bursting into life. 😊👍🏻
Mitch and Logan from Stapleton Auto has a very good series of videos about the 180° headers that were built for Sterling Marlins Daytona winning Kodiak Chevy The sound was and is so distinct for the 180° setups. Good job with the Studes Calvin..... I have always loved the Early Stude pick ups❤
Great progress on the car, don’t worry about your subscribers, family is most important. You don’t have to make huge progress videos, just throw up a quick in the shop video once a week, quick editing, even if it’s just going over things more in detail, you guys are way above the curve in tech videos, the more details the Better, give your parents my best wishes, I’m sure having your dad down is hard on your mom too, see you later
I liked this video because I am EXACTLY in the same boat and it was nice to hear the advice of just stepping back for a minute. I have been building my race truck for 2.5 years, have sunk every paycheck into it for that duration, have a MASSIVE OneNote document with parts, resources, diagrams, instruction sheets for parts I have yet to install or buy because I'm not quite there, etc... I have been completely overwhelmed and have a new clutch/flywheel assembly sitting on the ground while the cab is off the truck elsewhere. I will not have access to the 2 post lift that is near the truck now when it's time to install all of that, so I'll be back in my 2 car garage to do all of that. Have had the truck 3 different places doing work on it where and how I can and I am spent. I commented on your 180* header video and have since been done with that crazy setup, and that is just a drop in the bucket. Not trying to complain that I'm getting to build my dream truck as I always feel grateful for that-- but just stating the very draining and frustrating path that doing this type of thing can be for the average person. This is especially hard these days when you're surrounded by top tier builds all over social media that seem to just materialize and you're left spending a day fighting a few wrong bolts lol. I literally just got a Summit order and they sent me the wrong pilot bearing for my SBF to T56 Magnum. The frustrating part is that it would have installed because its that correct OD, and has a bigger ID, and I would have never known since it was in the right part's packaging, but I knew visually that it was the wrong type because I was shopping around. Could have wrecked the shaft. Right there with you. Anyway, thanks for the advice and video helping me at this moment in time on my build.
Blue faded paint with those gold painted centers on the wheels is down right awesome! Thing is going to be sweet! Can’t wait! 👍🤘👏 No need to apologize, we’re all living the same rat race… do what you can do… 👍🤘
Good call using the QuickTime rather than Lakewood -- they're way lighter and about the same size an OEM bell housing. The Lakewood ones are hydroformed, which is why they're so thick and have so much extra material, and probably why the holes aren't in exactly the right spot.
Just got the notification... Man your just a Hot dam Skippy jump away from getting where you want to be, I know how it goes. Been having problem solving err fun, yeah fun with my caddy, but she's back on the road, in the meantime I'm Always glad to watch your videos. Yep 👍🇺🇲
With the midplate installed between the engine and the bellhousing, I suspect you will need a different (longer) pilot bearing to ensure the input shaft pilot engages with the bearing.
So I'm not the only one that takes 3 steps backwards to make a 1/2 step forward. Lol As for the videos I keep them playing on loop in the shop lol not sure if that helps with views or not.
On the oil coming up through the pushrods, I always thought you had to rotate the motor to get them to come out of all of them (when doing a oil prime). Maybe that’s the case for the squirter too?!
No worries on the content Calvin. I don't feel like you've failed me at all. Did you have those ford 9" ends welded on by a shop? Or did you do them from home?
"Dont forget your wheel chock!" *PLACES SUPERCHARGER THAT COSTS 6 MONTHS OF MY MORTGAGE.* Don't worry about the delays; youtube might whine bitterly about the lack of "content" but frankly I think your fans prefer quantity over quality.

Bahaha your folks at the end shaking their heads, cracks me up.
Problem-solving throughout the building and overcoming these little hurdles can be rewarding and make the outcome that much more satisfied. Keep up the battle.
Your are doing great bud. We'll enjoy whatever you feel like showing us.
Take all the time you need. Don't rush yourself. Cherish the time with family.

Never apologize for dealing with life. Your family is awesome and involved with the channel. Keep up the good work. This is the way.
Just keep doing what you can and we will continue watching
The clip of them shaking their heads at the car haha😂 nice.
Do not worry about pacing, we'll just wait till you can make it. And enjoy time with your dad
Dude. We watch your shit because we like the content! Most of us anyway, will understand that we’re all adults and most things in life are way more important than RUclips, all that to say we will be here whenever you are available to upload!

I bought a 60 Lark 8 three years ago and we are putting a 500 Cadillac engine in now, crazy build
we missed you. glad dad is improving. again no need to say sorry.
All the best to you and your family ❤️
No need to apologize. Much love and appreciation to you and your family. Those 180 degree pipes will sound awesome.
Really like the shape & body lines on that car. Stance is killer too.
No worries my friend, take care of dad, we aren’t going anywhere, we’ll see you next time.

You do a great job! Always look forward to new videos, pretty sure everyone understands the current situation.
I appreciate that!
Do what you got to do bro I'll will be here no matter what
Thanks for the update. 👍
Just take it in stride.....enjoy the effort....
Murphy’s law hit hard. Perseverance is key. Great stuff!
Love the updates sir. Keep up the good work.
This Lark is the coolest car on RUclips, period!!!!!!!!!
Thanks!

Need me one of those fancy wheel chocks as well!!
The wheel chock😂😂😂😂
Make sure to use thread sealer on the flywheel bolts, sometimes the holes see oil flow from the crankshaft.
Yep. They do and I just did. Lol
No need for apologies! Nice wheel chock...
As stated below - we aren't going anywhere. Do what ya gotta do.
Nice work !
As always an entertaining watch. Have to chuckle at your challenges. So I’m not the only one. Take care Andy

Hang in Calvin. It will be worth it in the end.
Go with the flow man your good
Educational as always Calvin!
I cant wait to hear this run!
Me too. We're getting close.
No worries no rush i know you'll be back 👍🤠🪵🪨🎸
No problem with content time you do it when you can we can wait
a tip for removing a spool just put a rag in the gear and turn the pinion itl pop it right out
Good tip. Still needed to be able put it back in easily.
Very cool love the car!!
Wheels are 10/10 good

That was not required. It has good engagement

It really be like that sometimes

On the oil coming up through the pushrods, I always thought you had to rotate the motor to get them to come out of all of them (when doing a oil prime). Maybe that’s the case for the squirter too?!
Yeah. You do, and I was rotating it. Just didn't show it.
@@Calvin-Nelson Good deal thanks! I honestly did not know if that was the case for LS and LT...I just knew in general. Thank you!
Quality over quantity
love content no need to apologize
Make the videos when you can. You definitely have more important stuff going on than race cars. We (the viewers) aren't going anywhere
Watching
Take care of yourself first, Channel is cool but don't sweat it
👍
Could you have chucked the bolts in the lathe and shaved the heads down?
I would not want to risk having issues with stripping the fastener. Better to get the right part.
1 dude 1 stude for now.
The only concern I have is the short side is laid back so far will it turn the fuel. Factory didn't worry about turning fuel because it wasn't there.
We will see...
👍👍
I’m here to watch the haters of the 10 bolt. Don’t listen to the keyboard warriors.
Excellent video! Did you reuse the bearings? (crank, rod, cam). I assume you did. Thanks for the video!!
I did. They looked like they were brand new.
@@Calvin-Nelson Excellent! I figured so, they usually are!
Will a 4.2 out of 2006 Saab work for a good foundation motor?
Yeah. It's all the same stuff.
19:53 😂
The comment at 2:50- a prophecy!
Ha! Little 10 bolt never stood a chance. I jinxed it!
No worries on the content Calvin. I don't feel like you've failed me at all. Did you have those ford 9" ends welded on by a shop? Or did you do them from home?
We did them at home.
Are y’all selling the fiat? I saw that it’s posted for sale in PA, but not by either of you guys
Nope. The people that bought it from us are selling it
taking a break from the 4200 builds?
A short one. Going to be back at it in the near future.
If it was easy everyone would be doing it
Ain't that the truth.
Do you have a email I can reach to? Have some questions on me new ls build
Yeah. nivlac5700@gmail.com
Do not say sorry. Quality not quantity.
Can you tune my car remotely? Hp tuner
Sorry. No.
"Dont forget your wheel chock!"

Those LT4 superchargers aren't that expensive. That one was like $1200
