      Yeah. He’s really another CMC but on the defensive side. That’s who I would compare him with favorably, but let’s keep it real: he’s only going to last 4-5 years, max. He’s still worth it.

      @@DeCurtaRicanif he's as high IQ as people say he will be able to play longer than 4 or 5 years. The players who don't last long are the one ones who aren't smart and rely on athleticism. This guys athleticism is just a bonus. If he was slow he'd still be a quality LB.

But I'm not going to say he's going to surpass Ward. Ward is a different animal than Wilson. Wilson will carve out his own legacy here in Pittsburgh. Over the last 2 years we have been seeing a clinic on team building. In the first 3 rounds of 2 drafts they have gotten bookend OT's, a starting DT, C, and lock down corner. Yes half of it is on paper right now however from last year's body of work it would be smart to assume this class will shine as well. And lets be real here even if these qb's bust you will have a team built very much like the one Ben got when he was drafted for a new young QB. The trenches will be set and the D will be top 10.

      @@SubZero-pi4jr He's the third-leading rusher of all time. Look at Pro-Football-Reference's Hall of Fame monitor stat, and Gore is 11th all time at running back. On that list, he's ahead of Edgerrin James, Thurman Thomas, Franco Harris, Marcus Allen, Earl Campbell...ahead of Curtis Martin and Tony Dorsett and Jerome Bettis and Marshawn Lynch...Feel free to say that any of those guys were better than Gore - I'm not going to argue. But if that's the company he's keeping, he's getting that gold jacket.

      Nah…a lot of players have longevity but you also need to do something special besides survive.

    • @camicawber
      @camicawber Месяц назад +1

      @@DeCurtaRican What special thing did Curtis Martin do? Looks like he led the NFL in rushing once when he had 1,697 yards on 371 carries. Frank Gore's best season was 1,695 yards (on only 312 carries) - he just happened to do that in a year when LaDanian Tomlinson ran for over 1,800 and scored all the touchdowns.
      Both were 5-time Pro Bowlers. Neither was an MVP. Neither was particularly close. Both went to one Super Bowl, neither won it - though Gore had a significantly better Super Bowl performance than Martin did.
      Three men in 100+ year history of the NFL have accumulated 16,000 yards rushing. Frank Gore is one of them. That looks pretty...you know...special.
      If Martin is in, why wouldn't Gore be?

    • @foustreik
      @foustreik Месяц назад

      Frank Gore is a HOFer. Longevity is part of it. Emmitt Smith was never the best running back in the league during his time. He had the best OLine but he stayed healthy. If you have the 3rd most rushing yards in history, you deserve to be in the HOF. Bettis never had stand out numbers, but he’s in the HOF. Gore deserves to be inducted.

    There were definitely a few seasons for the niners where Frank Gore was one of the best if not the best back in the league. Heck his second season he had 2000 all purpose yards. 9 different 1k rushing seasons. He's a hall of famer. Maybe not first ballot but he'll get in.

    Roman Wilson has the physical tools and skills to excel in any role the Steelers assign to him. Despite being perceived as "just a slot receiver" or "incapable of being a deep threat," Wilson's speed, size, and ball skills make him a versatile receiver who can thrive both inside and outside. His athleticism and skills draw comparisons to Antonio Brown, with a few key advantages. Wilson's speed (4.38 40-yard dash time) and size (6 feet tall and 192 pounds) give him an advantage over Brown, making him a legitimate deep threat and a formidable opponent in contested catches and jump balls.
    Wilson's physical attributes and skills coming out of college are more impressive than Brown's, indicating a higher ceiling. His larger hands (10 3/8 inches) and similar ball skills allow him to make plays on the ball and catch in traffic, just like Brown. Wilson's ability to use his hands to make difficult catches, often snatching the ball out of the air, is a valuable asset in traffic. His athleticism and quickness are also on par with Brown's, with a 3-Cone Drill time of 6.20 seconds that exceeds the 75th percentile among NFL receivers.
    While Wilson's size is slightly below the average for an outside receiver (6 feet 1 inch and 200 pounds), his lean build and athletic physique compensate for this. His speed, ball skills, and hands enable him to stretch defenses and make big plays, while his strength and agility allow him to win contested catches. Additionally, his quickness and lean build make him a threat in the open field, where he can create yards after the catch.
    With a QB rating of 139.5 to 140.9 when targeted, Wilson has already demonstrated his ability to make plays in traffic and separate from defenders. He compares favorably to elite deep threats like Tyreek Hill and DeSean Jackson, and his hands and strength are similar to those of possession receivers like Keenan Allen and Robert Woods. Notably, Wilson's physical attributes align with the averages of these receivers: he is slightly shorter than the average height of 6'0.5", but has a similar weight to the average of 191.5 pounds, and has a faster 40-yard dash time than the average of 4.43 seconds.

    with Russ, better oline, a real OC...at a minimum +7 points a game, +7 minutes to time of possession which means less points for the other team...thats how i look at this offseason. my only concern is wide receiver and making up for DJ's production.

    Zach Frazer was the best pickup in the draft for the Steelers we desperately needed a center, Fautanu is a solid run blocker but is not consistent at pass blocking, Roman Wilson is a solid all around receiver and can be a key player if the Steelers use him correctly which I don't believe they will because they haven't used pass catchers correctly as of recently, Payton Wilson is good but we will not be bale to rely on him to be on the field consistently Steelers could have waited to draft him if he was a target. This draft was okay but I need to see it translate on the field and wins and playoff wins. Not convinced Russell Wilson is the guy and not convinced Tomlin can actually coach his team to success meaning playoff wins and a Super Bowl now or he will not be here and we have a new HC.
