- Winter’s arrived so I’m having to plough the yard first job with the new Case loading shovel so that we can get customers and articulated bulk tippers in and out of the yard. We’re situated on a hillside so we have problems in winter, we’re on a steep hillside with some steep approach roads, as well as steep slopes in the yard itself. There’s footage from my point of view as I load and unload wagons. I unload cast iron machines, strip the steel attachments and then move them to the breaking pit.
Another good video mate what a nice tidy scrap yard you have mate keep up the good vlogs love watching u all keep safe
Good to see Ken getting his wieght on Great video mark
Sir, your yard is absolutely clean and well organized! When I was a young guy I worked on a friend´s scrapyard back in 1980, also operating a grapple, but they were much more difficult to operate compared to today´s modern machines.
And environmental regulations were almost non existant 40 years ago and the yards were pretty messy. To save time and money, we just drained oil and fuel from scrap-vehicles, just by punching holes in gas tanks and oil pans with a pick-axe. Sometimes we even left the batteries inside and just scrapped the whole thing, either by ripping bigger vehicles apart or dropping a 2-ton steel plate on cars. At that time, nobody cared about environmental issues. Unimaginable today!
Well, as a young guy I had fun destroying things without being punished for 😂
It’s how it was everywhere, we operated within the law as the law was written at the time.
You have a better view from your high rise cab than i do working at sims metals in Stratford on avon.great video ❤
👍👍🙂🇨🇦
Why do you store so many brakedisks? Why not sell them for scrap?
Waiting for the right price as with all scrap dealers/sellers. I recall them having many more last year so they did move a lot out.
Piles of cast iron are worth more than money in the bank.
