Even volume-matched, I notice the same issue, Shawn: the Marantz is just too “bright” and less-refined. More convinced than ever that I chose the right amplifier for my personal setup at home.
If you afford CXA81, go for it as it will sound more control and enhance when volume get higher. PM6007 may sound more natural but will be harsh when volume turn louder.
Not sure if its just my iphone, does CXA81 really sound “thinner” than PM6007? Im actually considering either PM6007 or Denon PMA600NE or CA AXR100 for QAcoustics 3030i
Yes, CXA81 sound thinner and it may sound a bit bright for some ppl and there is no treble or bass tuning knob but for me it is still acceptable. I prefer CA than Marantz, so if you have chance to listen to AXR100 it may sound like CXA81. You may want to get higher power amplifier for 3030i which having larger driver. PM6007 only 45watts.
The time of music is much shorter than it can be concluded. Do you have a special reason for this or ... Also, there is still a problem with volume balance
Myself I prefer the sound when it pair with B&W 606 S2 Anniversary but this speakers sound bright and some people may not like it. If you don't like bright sound then you can pair with Dali Oberon 1.

This is the same video as another Marantz PM6007 VS Cambridge Audio CXA-81 but with more balance on the volume.
They both sound good. Which of these would you recommend?

Is this a sound comparison video or a volume video? Surely they have to be the same volume levels to compare
I have another video for more balance and longer version ruclips.net/video/f3B4F_BDjOE/видео.html

Thanks for your feedback, I just uploaded another longer version video and slightly adjust some balance too.
Wonder it will good with a turntable.
Sorry as I am not able to give any comment for that as I don't own any turntable and don't have any chance to hear with this amplifier.
