I have found Josh, that if you can not access a villager, such as a hunter being out of the village for the night, or a villager being locked away for illness. You can mail the quest item to them just like paying taxes. Majority of the time you do have to find them on the map, but the devs knew sometimes people are unable to be reached, at least thats what i've found, and i saw in one of your playthroughs, you had a quest to turn in to a sick villager and you could of mailed it in. Much love keep playing and learning with us! ♡
@@KotzyDay27 there's still so much to learn, its great to have a feeling of reward and exploration in my cozy farming life sims again~ I never knew about the soap honestly, and i did the exact same thing Josh did with smallpox, had no idea what 'indoctrinate' was for so i didnt do it til to late~
Tip about the Fishing Festival: I too had my fishing rod break that day. However the Mayor was selling them since he was "hosting" the event I guess. You can also keep fishing after the time frame to get more fish pieces to get the fishing rod. I only had like 450 when the event ended, fished a few more fish up, and ta dah enough to get my fishing rod. Trash did count as well, but only for like 1 to 5 points or something.
I don't know if its only on days when theyre actually visiting, but i fished up multiple gold dubloons near the pirates when they visited and they sold for 250g each. super worth early on when you're poor.
You can remotely send quest items to those villagers who are away on long trips, I think it's the hunters who do that. You will see their icon in the forest, not moving, and they will be missing from the village for days. Also, I highly recommend first time players (especially if you never played farm sims much previously) to turn off food and tool decay. Get a feel for the game first, and then if you feel like it, you can up the challenge. You can even turn off taxes, diseases, fishing minigame, adjust the aging. The whole point of games is to have fun, and not stress over the fact that you are broke, your tools are broken, your food is rotten, and you run around like a headless chicken, trying to keep your character alive and somehow manage a farm too.
I'd second this. I'm used to these types of games so I left it on. I was DELIGHTFULLY surprised about the rot and the fertilizer. JACKPOT. The fact you can turn it back on is just really nice. Some days... you really aren't feeling that. That, for me, gives Plum Grove a tiny bit of an edge over other games. That when I'm done being frustrated with my day, I can go back to that.
Thanks for the great video! Love the tip about not harvesting everything immediately - will make it easier to gather the required number of things for quests or crafting without them rotting in the meantime.
My friend recently started growing vegetables in her garden and the fascinating thing is that this game mechanic is actually realistic in real life. 😍 For example my friend has a raised bed in which she grows carrots. She can just keep the carrots under ground in there during winter and they will not rott for a very long time - so she can just pull carrots out of the earth when ever she needs some for cooking. It’s a small detail but I just found it so cool that the Devs incorporated this. 🥰 Such a sweet and beautiful game!
Yay!!! I love this!!! Great tips. I had NO idea about the wood twice a day! Thank you for making this awesome video, I am loving your Echoes content (love all of your content, though!) One minor thing -- you can also turn in quests by mail when someone is bedridden from illness or when they go on an expedition into the deep forest.
Just so people know for sure - you CAN INDEED visit the basement of the Potion House/Witch's place (after unlocking it ofc) of all times of the day every day
Once the beekeeper went up into the forest and disappeared, as I had all the mission items she just appeared to me on the map but it's as if she had traveled to the Amazon or simply bugged, then I saw a letter to send the mission items like this as it appears when it comes to paying fees to the mayor.
This game is so challenging but I still in love with it! I still in the mid of the spring but I can’t wait to make a beautiful farm asap thanks for the helpful tips!
If characters are in the 'forest' or unavailiable you can mail your quest to them that's the only time. (I almost wonder if that means they are about to die or something LOL)
Excellant video Josh. very helpful and you explained it all perfectly. thankyou so much, I am new to plum grove and I found you by watching Kanz on the cosy up for wishes on Friday.
I've spent all my weekend playing this game I love it but I'm already starting to lose interest a bit as walking around the town or deep in the mines feels a bit slow and sometimes I feel like I spent my days just walking endlessly picking whatever junk I find on the way lol
Does anyone know if you can "turn" the furniture? Everything I've bought is facing forward only and I'm running out of room on the back wall! Can we not turn them sideways somehow??
Oh maaan, I have made so many mistakes (noticed them by watching your video lol) and a big part of me wants to scrap my game and start over (I am close to winter) or do I just want to crash and burn? :D TY for all of the tips/tricks :D
I looked everywhere and can't find an answer. Is it not possible to adopt stepkids? Adoption papers claim they can adopt orphan and stepkids but when I got married I could not adopt my stepkid and was upset over this.
Just started the game and apart from day one our blacksmith has been mia for 5 days. From looking into it it seems he is sick and by the bags under his eyes in the village menu the wiki is saying malaria or consumption... Not great luck there @.@ since the only other blacksmith is a school child I have been struggling HARD

This is exactly what I was going to add as well, but more precisely put! I didn't know the exact mechanics yet, so I appreciate the knowledge!! 😊

Wait--when can you start mailing taxes? Is it after the first tax payment to the mayor?
@@Vtuber_Xantherous You can already mail the first payment.
how?
Thank you for the video! Small Tip: Two Persimmon trees grow in the graveyard!

That last tip oh my gosh! I often visit Quentin just to pay my taxes I did not know you could do that! It saves so much time!
Thank you, Josh! 🍇🍇🍇
I was so shocked of this tip hahahaha

I got the game after watching your 100 day playthrough, and it’s been so fun!! Looking forward to a 200 day video 😄
Thank you so much for the crops tip! I had no idea and was harvesting and hoarding them like any other farming game. 😅
Echoes of the Plum Grove is like the Dark Souls of farming sims.

I started the game today and smallpox wiped out half the village and killed the guy i wanted to marry 😭
I got inoculated in game but for what wasn’t sure. Then everyone started dying of small pox… but not me 😊
Thanks for the tips josh. Been feeling a bit lost in plum Grove
This was so fun to see after watching your livestream. You just made my plauthrough a bit easier.

I was waiting for this before starting a save file ❤❤
Just got this game and your video is SO INCREDIBLY helpful.. thank you so much.
These are amazing tips, I'm gonna apply them to my playthrough
I hope you are enjoying the game so far!
There is some quest that will let you send it to there houses. But i think is when they are sick!
I think it should be mandatory to be able to craft/cook from the chests/fridge/storages 🫤 but all in all I like the game so far 😊
This is so helpful!! You honestly make the best tips and tricks videos!!!
Am I the only one who hesitate to accept the quest to be mean to 20 villagers?
it's pointless to do them though, you only get 5 coal as a reward I'd rather become enemies with Temperance and get a steam achievement.
@@MiguiMonkey Doesn't it maxes out the friendship with the villages that have the cruel trait?
@@abelielle9438 does it? that's an interesting mechanic if it did!
@@MiguiMonkey I’m not sure I heard that somewhere. If someone could confirm it, it would be appreciated.

Thanks! I just bought the game so this will be helpful.

I have been married for some time but they didn’t ask for the have a baby option. Is there anything that triggers it?
did you move in any family members with your spouse? households can only have 4 people
Make sure to go to bed before 12 am to get the buff it’s a 25% chance every day that it will pop up
It happened me on the first night married. We had maximum friendship and an extra spot in the household. Maybe that helps?

Not sure if this is a glitch for me or not, but my ice has never turned to rot. It always just disappears☹
I wonder if it was a bug his ice turned to rot since that wouldn't make any sense.
That's a really good point!@@suicune2001
No, ice doesn't turn into rot. It just disappears so if anybody's game is messed up it's Josh's lol
Very sad this game didnt hit the switch kickstarter bonus. I hope some day it will get a port because this game is right up my alley!
all good hints - Thanks!
can someone please tell me how to equip my fishing lure? i cant find how anywhere

Yes, press R on the keyboard to rotate furniture!

Another tip marry the mayor's daughter.
