This is a very good tutorial! I've seen quite a few and also attended a workshop on making pucker toe moccasins. Thank you for taking time to make this video!

I have forgot to add seam allowance before when making tall top moccasins, and they fit her daughter instead of her, so I made another set for her and gave them to her for Christmas

Cassandra, in making these I've noticed in video that when your pattern in folded in half it is not symmetrical, is it suppose to be that way?

Jus take a leather tube that fits your calf and sew them to the tops of the moccasins. It's all intuitive and you will lose some leather . They might not fit you perfectly but learn from your mistakes and give them to someone who fits in them.
      Best wishes.

You explained this so easy and I'm so excited to make some for me and my bf. Btw, pucker-toe is the style we wear too! I'm eastern Cherokee.

Wow. Easiest moccasins ever. Thank you. However you said you needed your foot in your hand you forgot to thank the deer for his hide. So the native American hunter goes out into the woods barefoot kills a deer eats his heart thanks him then tans his hide now he has shoes/moccasins. And some pants and a nice shirt. It was a perfect plan… Well you know the story.

I wonder if I make myself a pair, as a white girl, would I be appropriating? I keep my shoes for YEARS. Like, I have some from 30 years ago, and I still wear them. I try to make and invest in things that will last me forever. I wonder if I could get permission? Or maybe how to get permission? ❤️

@@alibobo2009 I appreciate that you even thought to ask...to me it was always appropriation. However, that said you could contact your regions NA office or even just talk to people at pow wows. If it's gifted to you or you were adopted into a family that would be ideal. But, that said, go to some of your fb pages & see how people feel about it as you go forward. I was not rez born nor do I have a # but I was taught to be respectful of other cultures so thank you! That said....were all Irish on St. Patrick's Day..lol and if you go ahead and make your shoes I ask you just to be respectful & try to walk the red road when you wear them...if you wear them out be prepared with an answer for "are you Indian?" & why your wearing them...

@@sadriski wow. You know that's interesting, cause I was braiding my hair in two braids for a little while (I didn't know anything!) And I got so much attention from Native American people, and I wondered at it, cause they used to ignore me. So, as I reflected, I started wearing only one braid, even though it's not as comfortable, because they might be so disappointed when they find out I'm just white, and I just wouldn't want to see that in their eyes. I got my buckskin out this week, in fact. Well, miigwich for your thoughts!!! Much respect.
