Gay or not, we all need a mother like this woman. Not perfect but one that can learn and grow. A fully functional and evolving person. Wish more Africans were like her instead of being stuck, jaded, judgmental and angry. I am African so I speak from firsthand experience of Africans from more than 23 different countries for all 30 years on earth. They can be wonderful a pinch but the rest is pepper and salt.
Most people are amenable to reason, tried convincing my parents for years wouldn't budge, however after the got to know a few of them it all melted away. No demons but human beings. Its fear at the root of lgbtq hatred only sustained advocacy will bring a new future.
The problem with this is who then rights these legislations because most people have a bias. People will never agree collectively what is right or wrong because there are to many influences from history that guide the world we live in. I hope we can start making the right decisions but it will be a lengthy process and I do agree with you.
what an amazing mother!!! hearing about how the community is condemned and even afraid to speak out so now the responsibility falls on their loved ones to advocate for their SURVIVAL is powerful.
Tears gathered in my eyes when the interviewer asked the Pastor if he has ever had a conversation with a queer person, and he answered No.
So I ask why this hatred when you don’t even know the people you are targeting?

It's not African culture for the most part. Just stay in your country. You can't force your values on people that are disgusted my them. The same way you feel about them is the same way they feel about you 10 times over.

This is a prime example of why you should never mix religion with politics and government because the second you do one religious group will start cracking down on things they don’t like for example homosexuality, and other religions that they don’t like or approve of.

The fact that that cancer called religion still gets respected in current society is baffling. It should not be given any respect by any government. It should be stripped of all authority. It should be reduced to something so spiritual, so personal and so small It does not spill past your home.

Nobody is born that way
@@liltree8382 I was born with both sets of genitals. Don't tell me what I KNOW about my body. My man genitalia were preserved while they decided that I should grow up a boy. I grew up thinking I was transgender. And once I grew up I had to undergo the surgery to correct the decision others made for me, when they should have let me make that decision for myself when got older. If you dont understand ask a question but don't just assume because you have hangups about people's private lives. These people are human beings, and your perspective isn't more valid than thiers. What you are doing is the same thing that American whites do to Black people in the USA, try to tell us what our perspective should be as if thier perspective is somehow more valid than ours, even though we LIVE in the thick of the issues, and are affected the most by racial issues. I did not choose to be born this way. And I wasn't Eve asked for my opinion, my body was altered without my consent and it made my life very difficult. Especially because that was kept secret from me until after my Father was dead in 2005. Do you know what that does to a person? To grow up with these issues, and depression to grow up with anxiety CONSTANTLY not really enjoying your childhood, because you get picked on because everyone sees you as a boy, but really your a girl, born intersex? I attempted suicide, a few times, grew up hating my Dad because he treated me like a boy, when I was clearly different. You just assume things because you were told about us by people who don't experience this. I am human. I went through something that I wouldn't wish on anyone. And to know that I can now not ever menstruate, or bear a child because my partial uterus and ovaries as well were REMOVED. All because one set of genitals was more complete. Do you get it now? To not even be viewed as a sexually desirable being, but a fantasy, something freaky, something dirty or deviant, when I'm just me. I find it sad, that instead of asking me to clarify you just assume. I KNOW there are more than one sex. And gender is a construct. Because I am both. Educate yourself. We are that inconvenient truth that you can't explain away or deny. If you hate us for what ever reason then just say it. But don't do that. Don't try and gaslight me as if you know more about me than I do. Are YOU my Mother? Were you there at my birth? Well my parents were and my Mom verified and showed me proof. I had to undergo a big surgery in my childhood that was risky and it turned out they even removed the wrong genitals. I love my Fatherland, but I living there will not be great for me. I'd visit, but settling down isn't an option for all of us, because of things like lgbtqiaphobia. And the I in LGBTQIA is for intersex or hermaphrodite. A is for a sexual, or people who don't have sexual feelings, or androgynous those who don't appear to either or or even both. So this isn't just about same sex love or changing genders. This covers everything outside the heterosexual western societal norms. There's a lot more in this world than just what you experience, and we are not bad people we are human beings. We aren't trying to plot against anyone and just want to live without being harassed or hindered when we try to do normal human being things like get an education, find a job, build a family, or find love. I don't understand why it is such a big issue as if it will change a person. Put yourself in someone else's shoes. Would you appreciate being harassed because you like men? Or to be considered a freak to not even get common respect just because you are a woman who has normal sexual feelings? To have your love not valued because society and what someone wrote thousands of years ago in a totally different time and context? As a Black Woman you should know how it feels when it comes to Black femicide, well that goes on in the LGBTQIA community as well. The anxiety we feel when we see a crowd of Black men at a gas station is the same you feel. But at least you have a higher chance of surviving. I was born this way. Don't tell me what you think you know about me because you were told something and you've formed an inaccurate opinion. I'm just as much a woman as you. I'm married and an AuntyMama. I've earned my place at the table with all the pain I've suffered as a kid. That doesn't mean those two are being compared that drawing parallels to get you to understand the things people that you don't know experience. If you want to be offended go ahead I really don't care, but don't lie on me. I'm well aware that there's a difference in how our white counter terparts experience life in this country. This is why we in the west need to center black and brown and indigenous voices in our local LGBTQIA+ communities. If the international community sees us as a white-centered movement, of course our queerness will be seen as an invasive western force when it's really a pre-colonial human experience (which has persevered due in large part to the efforts of brown, black and indigenous people).
It IS a "white paternalistic" movement like all leftist movements. 😃
So why the British pro LGBTQ + when no one else is? Non-heteronormative Gender identities are western social construct
Complete and utter nonsense

Why waste recourses for such ridiculousness seriously have they not learnt from history, people have always had differing gender identities it's part of our complex human make-up. I can't imagine such policy making actually happening it's like a horrible matrix - my soul aches for our Ghanaian LGBTQIA+ siblings

@Valkirye Brunestud Now, lets take minute to look at what you replied. Pikunat made the statement "there are nazis here". You asked, "so is everyone a nazi?". This is hyperbole, obviously being homophobic and expressing other kinds of hate isn't a only nazi thing, its also a generally conservative thing. Nazi is a somewhat un useful word in this context though as nazism is part of "white fascism". Which is specifically centered around white people trying to reach a society ruled by white interests. So can black people be fascist? Well duh, of course they can, just like they can be racist and homophobic.
@Valkirye Brunestud these aren’t “rules from a different country”, this is basic human decency. There are queer Ghanians! do they not deserve to exist in their home lands because politicians and religious activists view them as a western import? Do they deserve to be jailed for being themselves and not harming anyone? their existence should not be a punishable offense. queer people have existed throughout history. is it fascist to want to live freely in a world that would rather you be dead or in hiding?
@Valkirye Brunestud I'm sorry but your language is very smarmy and vague, moving forward you should be more "to the point" and throw in actual examples of what you just replied about. Edit: Nvm @a clout token helped me along. Essentially, this doesn't make them fascist because asking people of another country(idk where you got "force" from) to not take away rights from gay people is, if you somehow didn't realize this, antithetical to fascism. You can get off your false narrative.
@Valkirye Brunestud Also fascism is understood throughout academia as a right wing ideology. The amount of misconceptions one must have to think that left liberals can be fascist are, large to say the least. This suggests there may be a huge amount of ignorance on your parts and you may benefit from an honest conversation with someone more knowledgeable.
@@ACloutToken Ironically all that homophobia is 100% western since Ghana was a UK colony, of course they ended up with homophobic laws from their colonizers and once Ghana got independent, they embraced it!

That’s a big issue with lots of colonized countries. I heard from a Filipino friend of mine, in the Philippines it was considered normal for people to have unique genders, before they were colonized. Native Americans (although they strongly resisted and still have a rich culture today, open to LGBTQ still) were very open with multiple genders, they believe in a identity known as “Two-Spirit” or a person with the soul of both a man and a woman in one body. They even elevated these kinds of people to positions of high importance within the tribe. It’s colonizers who ruined many amazing cultures, with their stubborn beliefs and behaviors.

To my LGBTIQ Ghana community, keep up the fight for your rights & freedoms. You deserve the equal rights in your own country & society. Love from 🇿🇦
It's stories like this that remind me of a time when every living president, including Obama and Biden, opposed gay marriage. Clinton and other left-wing politicians also opposed it. Biden has even had stronger words against LGBT over his career. Even CA voters voted for a law against gay marriage.
Never knew that thanks for the info..
And those attitudes have changed bc socially the US citizenry has changed their stances. People evolve. What's funny to me is that homosexuality is seen as a western conspiracy to continental Africans. Extreme regression especially as Africans hold on to too many western ideologies like Christianity.
Tell me one thing Clinton did that was left wing. Clinton was not a left wing politician.
@@yellowplate4539 LOL Left for this country. Honestly, I don't think people THINK. In this country, you must be centrist to get anything done.
