Gay or not, we all need a mother like this woman. Not perfect but one that can learn and grow. A fully functional and evolving person. Wish more Africans were like her instead of being stuck, jaded, judgmental and angry. I am African so I speak from firsthand experience of Africans from more than 23 different countries for all 30 years on earth. They can be wonderful a pinch but the rest is pepper and salt.

The problem with this is who then rights these legislations because most people have a bias. People will never agree collectively what is right or wrong because there are to many influences from history that guide the world we live in. I hope we can start making the right decisions but it will be a lengthy process and I do agree with you.

@@liltree8382 I was born with both sets of genitals. Don't tell me what I KNOW about my body. My man genitalia were preserved while they decided that I should grow up a boy. I grew up thinking I was transgender. And once I grew up I had to undergo the surgery to correct the decision others made for me, when they should have let me make that decision for myself when got older. If you dont understand ask a question but don't just assume because you have hangups about people's private lives. These people are human beings, and your perspective isn't more valid than thiers. What you are doing is the same thing that American whites do to Black people in the USA, try to tell us what our perspective should be as if thier perspective is somehow more valid than ours, even though we LIVE in the thick of the issues, and are affected the most by racial issues. I did not choose to be born this way. And I wasn't Eve asked for my opinion, my body was altered without my consent and it made my life very difficult. Especially because that was kept secret from me until after my Father was dead in 2005. Do you know what that does to a person? To grow up with these issues, and depression to grow up with anxiety CONSTANTLY not really enjoying your childhood, because you get picked on because everyone sees you as a boy, but really your a girl, born intersex? I attempted suicide, a few times, grew up hating my Dad because he treated me like a boy, when I was clearly different. You just assume things because you were told about us by people who don't experience this. I am human. I went through something that I wouldn't wish on anyone. And to know that I can now not ever menstruate, or bear a child because my partial uterus and ovaries as well were REMOVED. All because one set of genitals was more complete. Do you get it now? To not even be viewed as a sexually desirable being, but a fantasy, something freaky, something dirty or deviant, when I'm just me. I find it sad, that instead of asking me to clarify you just assume. I KNOW there are more than one sex. And gender is a construct. Because I am both. Educate yourself. We are that inconvenient truth that you can't explain away or deny. If you hate us for what ever reason then just say it. But don't do that. Don't try and gaslight me as if you know more about me than I do. Are YOU my Mother? Were you there at my birth? Well my parents were and my Mom verified and showed me proof. I had to undergo a big surgery in my childhood that was risky and it turned out they even removed the wrong genitals. I love my Fatherland, but I living there will not be great for me. I'd visit, but settling down isn't an option for all of us, because of things like lgbtqiaphobia. And the I in LGBTQIA is for intersex or hermaphrodite. A is for a sexual, or people who don't have sexual feelings, or androgynous those who don't appear to either or or even both. So this isn't just about same sex love or changing genders. This covers everything outside the heterosexual western societal norms. There's a lot more in this world than just what you experience, and we are not bad people we are human beings. We aren't trying to plot against anyone and just want to live without being harassed or hindered when we try to do normal human being things like get an education, find a job, build a family, or find love. I don't understand why it is such a big issue as if it will change a person. Put yourself in someone else's shoes. Would you appreciate being harassed because you like men? Or to be considered a freak to not even get common respect just because you are a woman who has normal sexual feelings? To have your love not valued because society and what someone wrote thousands of years ago in a totally different time and context? As a Black Woman you should know how it feels when it comes to Black femicide, well that goes on in the LGBTQIA community as well. The anxiety we feel when we see a crowd of Black men at a gas station is the same you feel. But at least you have a higher chance of surviving. I was born this way. Don't tell me what you think you know about me because you were told something and you've formed an inaccurate opinion. I'm just as much a woman as you. I'm married and an AuntyMama. I've earned my place at the table with all the pain I've suffered as a kid. Have a seat have several, and if you open your mind, and ask I am more than happy to try and clarify, but don't try shoving lies down my throat I'm not the one.

Yet all you got was offense because you thought I was comparing being Black to being intersex. How utterly pathetic. I am 43 and I've experienced REAL racism. My first time was when I had a SHOTGUN pointed at my face for playing with a white girl. I didn't even knew what a ni663r was until that at age 7. I've been called all sorts of vile things and have been in terrifying situations that I still don't like to talk about. All you could do was get angry about the fact that LGBTQIA experience some common things with us as Black people. That doesn't mean those two are being compared that drawing parallels to get you to understand the things people that you don't know experience. If you want to be offended go ahead I really don't care, but don't lie on me. I'm well aware that there's a difference in how our white counter terparts experience life in this country. I didn't even say that I was suffering more than you, or anyone. All I said was you're acting like an arrogant idiot who pulled thier conclusion about people they never took the time to know out of your azz. And that we share some common experiences and fears. And one more point, I find it sad that your hate and bigotry against LGBTQIA people outweighs your love for Black people. Just because you aren't racist doesn't mean you aren't a bigot. And that is exactly what you are. We are part of the Black community whether you like it or not. We deserve to be a part of the community. You need to grow up and stop the childish idiocy. Not everyone is like you, or has the luck to be born with a "normal" body. People like you are the reason we can't advance as a community because you always trying to exclude folks. Calm down I wasn't your enemy. And even if I find it disrespectful that you tried putting that bullshit narrative on me I still don't consider you my enemy. So, I wouldn't take my stance based on that. Rather, I'd root it on our African norms. LGBTQ+ isn't a foreign concept forced on us, but something our African culture finds it hard to accept. As a disabled US Army Veteran and Christian, it never fails to to amaze me how some Christians seem to miss or ignore the fact that Jesus was not into forcing his beliefs onto others.. espically when others have different beliefs! ..Weather it's about abortion and same sex marriage or any other issues.. If your against same sex relationships or marriage, it's simple, don't marry or be in a relationship with one of the same sex!! Yet I hear over and over again "they must be punished" because they have different beliefs. How can anyone honestly relate or learn about another's situation when someone never takes the time or refuses to talk with someone on the other side of an issue?? Yet the Bishop(?) thinks or claims to know the situation and an answer to it?? Sounds a bit dismissive and arrogant when he talks about the situation.. We as Christians need to stop finding ways to divide and separating ourselves from others no matter what we believe or think about others and the way they believe or think differently. Immagine how much good could be accomplished if some of us turned the passion of criticism and hate towards love and charity just trying to help others different than ourselves... That's what I get from reading about Jesus the New Testament..then again, maybe more Christians should worry more about thier actions and behavior in there homes and community than about others around them that are different.. Just being HONEST!! God bless and PROTECT EVERYONE!🙏😷

Native Americans (although they strongly resisted and still have a rich culture today, open to LGBTQ still) were very open with multiple genders, they believe in a identity known as “Two-Spirit” or a person with the soul of both a man and a woman in one body. They even elevated these kinds of people to positions of high importance within the tribe. It’s colonizers who ruined many amazing cultures, with their stubborn beliefs and behaviors.

50 years ago Ireland was referred to as the 'most Catholic country'. It has now legalised gay marriage and abortion.
In 1980's it was illegal in uk to mention lgbtq (section 28 legislation)
In some ways Europe had a head start leaving homophobia behind because of increased lack of religion. But the homophobia exported under Victorian era colonialism is appalling!

@Valkirye Brunestud Now, lets take minute to look at what you replied. Pikunat made the statement "there are nazis here". You asked, "so is everyone a nazi?". This is hyperbole, obviously being homophobic and expressing other kinds of hate isn't a only nazi thing, its also a generally conservative thing. Nazi is a somewhat un useful word in this context though as nazism is part of "white fascism". Which is specifically centered around white people trying to reach a society ruled by white interests. So can black people be fascist? Well duh, of course they can, just like they can be racist and homophobic.

@Valkirye Brunestud these aren’t “rules from a different country”, this is basic human decency. There are queer Ghanians! do they not deserve to exist in their home lands because politicians and religious activists view them as a western import? Do they deserve to be jailed for being themselves and not harming anyone? their existence should not be a punishable offense. queer people have existed throughout history. is it fascist to want to live freely in a world that would rather you be dead or in hiding?

Edit: Nvm @a clout token helped me along. Essentially, this doesn't make them fascist because asking people of another country(idk where you got "force" from) to not take away rights from gay people is, if you somehow didn't realize this, antithetical to fascism. You can get off your false narrative.

    • @derpphil5400

Any africans that say any form of LGBTQ+ persons is a western thing, clearly do not know their own history as it relates to their country...
LGBTQ+ people have existed everywhere-- pre-colonialism, post colonialism, and in between. It's even been documented that certain African countries have (native) words/phrases for gay (man) that were used to describe men who have sexual relations with men. The word wouldn't exist if the people who the label belongs to didn't exist.
It is embarrassing for these so called "religious individuals" in Ghana or other African countries saying that LGBTQ+ people are "not part if their culture...it's against everything we (insert African country's people) stand for". Like shut up, your religion was given/forced on your people by White European missionaries/colonists, the language you speak (English) is not your native language it's Germanic (European), and your laws were implemented at the will of the British. All you stand for is what White colonialists wanted you to stand for... So my message to those type of Africans: "Sit down, shut up, and really think about the state of your country, the bigotry that you have been manipulated into projecting, and the "religion", you are a part of."

Such as incest like if a brother and a sister have a consensual protected intercourse. Yet incest is illegal in many western nations lool If you are a liberal and accept homosexuality but not incest you are a hypocrite by your own harm principle and further are inconsistent in your beliefs . If you are liberal and accept incest hats off to you at least you are not a hypocrite and are being consistent and in accordance with the harm principle if not using that and giving preferential treatment to one kind of non normative sexual practice frankly it does not make sense. Try and challenge me I have more 😂 don’t try and export your bullshit liberalism into Africa we know about your flawed ideology and will not accept. Bring the sword if you want. Most trans people are suffering what is a scientifically recognized disorder called Gender dysphoria, where a person feels significant distress at their own sexual and/or gender identity that was assigned either at birth or through societal norms. What trans people are engaging in by being trans is a gender transition, becoming the gender that their own psyche subconsciously identifies with. They typically do this through a variety of methods including hormone therapy, psychotherapy, major surgeries, and the changing of various identifies of gender in our society, like clothes, hair, voice tone, makeup, etc. The act of becoming trans therefore for most people is actually a drawn-out medical treatment that seeks to treat the Gender dysphoria that someone is suffering from.
Hope this helps you understand trans people more!
