The ripperkon XL backpack is very similar to the Mystery Ranch Blackjack 100 and the Warrior Assault Systems X300. I'm sure he designed it himself with his own needs in mind, but he basically took the best features of both packs such as the gear attachment points, the lid and the access methods, and dare I say it, improved on both designs. Great job ripperkon, you're definitely a person I aspire to be.
My Berghaus Crusader is rated as 90+20 liters, but it's way smaller than that. It's pretty hard to compare between manufacturers because of the differences in the way they measure the volume. I like your design a lot, no unnecessary straps etc flailing around!

Very nice crafted Backpack - respect. I always have to laugh at all the comments were user say they always carry at least 50+ kg around. Most of them would collapse after 5 km with a load of 25 kg.
Another pretty often overlooked factor is in my opinion *where* do you carry your backpack. Carrying 25kg at sea level all day is something completely different than being up in the mountains with such a backpack for only 1/2 a day...
I like molle because I can attach pouches for equipment, food, spare clothes, etc. Its handy when your on a mission at night because you have easy access to the equipment and you dont need to open the big chamber of the backpack. Nice video and backpack.

This is why I love sewing up my own gear-just pouches, a field quiver and a haversack so far but being able to design or customize for your own needs and equipment is a really useful skill. Plus it's not hard to find a grandma who will be delighted to teach you!
I’ve always wanted to do this. If I design and make gear myself, I can hand pick the materials and be certain that everything is high quality, rugged, and stitched for max strength. I’m saving up for an industrial sewing machine. It is a very useful skill and saves a lot of money in the long run. After all, I just have to pay for materials since I won’t need to charge myself fir labor

Ich habe einen alten militärischen Seesack den ich auf eine Lastenkraxe schnallen möchte, dein Video ist eins der wenigen die ich zu sowas auf RUclips finde, sonst gibts nur einiges zum kleineren lk35. Die Idee mit dem Zipper ist genial, ich will noch ein Schlafsackfach mit extra zipper machen.
Great video, the frame system is called a Manpack in the U.K. , you don’t see them so much now but as you say good for mortar rounds Radios, ammo boxes and Water Jerricans also You cannot beat an external from for air circulation , which is also important in cold climates. Your design is great for the uses that you intended. Bergans are a very individual thing, and what suits one person may not suit another person You have a comfortable carrying system that can attach different bags for different uses . When are you going to carry out a parachute jump with this Pack ? Some small detachable shoulder straps would make that floating lid a useable Daysack

Next time design one that can slip onto a mystery ranch frame. You can get them to fit your body as they come in three sizes. Plus they are a lot lighter, and you can put an Alice pack, FILBE, or any packs that has the sleeve for an Alice frame. Plus you got some points for designing your own ruck! That’s awesome! I’m planning on making one for the molle large frame. Or having it made by someone who’s is much more experienced than I. I’m going to take some design aspects of this into consideration. Except it’s going to be a roll-top design like the savotta packs. I just don’t have the money nor any knowledge of anyone who does this sort of work.

Wie immer, super Video :D Habe mich damals mal von deinem Rucksack inspirieren lassen und ebenfalls einen genäht. Würde den so auf 40L schätzen. Hatte aber keine Kohle für die Lastenkraxe und musste mir selbst ein Rückenpolster nähen. Die Schultergurte habe ich dann von einem TT Tropper Rucksack genommen. Danke, dass du mit den Näh-Videos angefangen hast. Mittlerweile ziehe ich es vor Sachen selber zu nähen als sie zu kaufen ;) Ich freue mich auf den nächsten Adventure Vlog!
Although I prefer internal frame packs for fit, comfort, and generally lighter weight, I've used external frame packs and like the versatility of being able to use the frame to carry items like jerry cans, chainsaws, etc.

I would have kept the full frame of the Lastenkraxe, I own the lastenkraxe and the accompanying rucksack that comes with it, it's more than enough for me. The L frame has been tremendous when used around camp to carry firewood, water canteens for longer stays(Here in Australia water is hard to find)
Awesome design. Simple and useful without to many fancy pockets, compartments etc. Slight advantage of having some molle on it is for camouflage, at least that's how I use the molle when I need to camouflage my backpack. It's easy to attach vegetation. Maybe having compartment on the very bottom of the pack for rain cover is not a bad idea.
I suppose you needed an industrial sawing machine (heavy duty sewing machine), to be able to sew this backpack? I have sewn/modified a CONDOR COLOSSUS DUFFLE BAG, with chest strap and replaced some straps with longer straps. I did this with hand sewing, and it took a long time. But to sew yourself a complete backpack, that's next level. I suppose, If you can't find one to buy, just sew one yourself 👍 Thanks for sharing.

That's a man skill there, can't find bag you like, so you make your own. Great video too. Some people barely speak 1 language well enough and you are crushing two.
You should find a partner and produce this backpack. I would defenetly buy it since it fills all my needs wich most other backpacks dio not. Great job!
The none modified lastenkraxe and the bag you can buy seperately is 70 litres, maybe 80L if really pack it well. Depending where you live they can be a bitch to find at a reasonable price but well worth keeping an eye out.
Hast viel Herzblut Geist und Arbeit reingesteckt. Sehr schön und bemerkenswert. Habe selber die Kraxe und finde sie ist besser als alle Rucksäcke zusammengenommen vor allem flexibler. Nutze meine mit einem BW-Seesack.Soll es mehr sein dann gehen bis 3 Seesäcke.Soll es klein und simpel sein einfach alles in die BW Dackelplane eingerollt und los geht's. Aber immer dran denken. Wer viel hat muss viel schleppen und wenn er nicht mehr kann bleibt viel auf dem Weg.

this is actually brilliant, I really need something like this but 80 liters volume since 120 is kind of too much for me.
