I bought this unit and now can't use it. It is extremely sensitive to rfi and in fact, back feeds into my other components. I have an isolator (choke coil) between the antenna and the meter but when working ft8 (20 watts) it will look like it is working on all but 40 m when it is actually causing fluctuations in all 3 readings (swr, power out and alc). On 40m it just goes crazy, shows double the wattage, swr near infinity etc. I remove it from the circuit and all of my readings on the radio (I have to switch to each individually) show good readings, no fluctuation and I make solid qso. It may work on other styles of antenna but it does not love my end fed at all.
Did you measure accuracy with other standing wave ratios by purposely detuning the loop antenna and comparing what you read on the Mini 300 ? And, why would you need to know SWR at QRP levels? (unless your feedline is lossy in that band) I wouldn't use any instrument with a microcontroller inserted into the feedline of my antenna system. They can't filter all the QRM/RFI unintentionally generated in that digital SWR meter. Any FCC mark or statement in its manual?
Nice little thing however I hate how thease people put switches on upside down, OFF should always be UP and ON should always be DOWN. The ON/OFF switch needs rotating 180 degrees
Hey Paul thank you for this review. Nice to see it works down to mW.

My one they programmed my Call sign on the boot up screen , very cool meter.
Nice review. I have ordered one to have a play with.
Thanks for introducing this SWR meter.
Much love 💕

I see you have the radio set on am. Can I test lsb?
If that could also display SWR as a bar graph of some sort, it would be a lot more useful. Particularly when trying to adjust your magloop.
That's true 😊👍 very good idea! I hope in the next FW update they could add this feature.
@@OM0ET can it be programmed? The USB just looks like it's for charging the battery
Thanks for that
Just a short question: When switched off is the power from a radio passed trough?
73
Yes, of course 😊
Well described Paul, thanks a lot! Vy 73, Ralf - DK9PS -
Muito boa explicação, obrigado!
Excellent SV2YJ
Muito bom este vídeo 😊
can i use it to test also 144-148mhz?
HF only
@@OM0ET what can i use for this frequency then ?
Nice
While it's open, mod it for CB
Tnx! 73 de Rumen / LZ2AF

???
nope, they got that right
TNX and 73 from UT5RQ !
Mine works well, Brian M6BAQ
