Characteristics:
Males: Vibrant red with a black mask around the face.
Females: Warm brown with red tinges on the wings, tail, and crest.
Size: About 8-9 inches (20-23 cm) in length.
Song: A clear, whistling melody, often described as "cheer-cheer-cheer" or "birdie-birdie-birdie."
Interesting Facts:
Cardinals do not migrate and are year-round residents in their range.
They are monogamous, and males often feed females during courtship.
Unlike many songbirds, both males and females sing.
