Dude I’m glade to hear your experience in collage with business administration degree is not complex . Never been to collage only trade school . Kinda nervous about going to community collage for an associates in business administration . Also nervous about owning my own business too . But my education is completely free , so I would be a fool to pass it up . I think this degree would be good for me on so many levels . The real estate business is challenging enough . My goal is to have as much rental property as I can . I feel like this degree may help me make better decisions business wise .
Great video, thank you! I will add that you mentioned you will own your own business. Eventually, every position from management and up is HR. If you look into the labor laws and some unemployment compensation, it has to do with hostile work environments, policies for handling situations where maybe the other employees/peers of an employee are mistreating another employee, benefits, and picking the right employees is all HR problems. The higher up in the chain of management the more important HR plays a roll regardless if there is a dedicated department for it or not, so when you say you have no interest in it, consider that. Upper management is responsible for putting policies that hand your company's human resources. It seems like common sense stuff but some things can get you tied up in a lawsuit over something stupid that could be avoided. Now I have no idea what HR class you took I can relate to it being of no interest but just know its important and if you are going to start your own business it is essential. otherwise great video! Keep them going! Would love to see your progress with WGU for I am trying to consider a school for the same degree program. I am at a point were I make great money and want to start to position myself to open my own business in the next few years and want a business degree before I go out on my own.
I start in November 2022 for Business Administration. Been 10 years out of college and now going back to finish. Thanks for the input. I’m very nervous.
What do you think about Business Administration IT Management Degree? Trying to get into IT. But I can’t get into IT the department at WGU, there asking me to have a IT Cert already unfortunately. I’m using the GI Bill as well
It’s a good program. You’ll learn a lot and get a lot of certs. The certs are the hardest part. What cert do they want you to have? I haven’t heard of them doing that.
Wow. That’s crazy. Have you looked into getting that cert? I just did some quick research on it. Not sure how long it would take you. Let me know if you have any other info on it or want me to discuss it on the channel
They do not ask for Google IT certification if your major is business IT management for admission. You can get it for yourself though if you want but they told me I don't need it
This is actually what I’m starting October 1st but I’m going to use Sophia and Saylor to test out on a lot of courses. Are you testing out of anything? Funny enough, I was going for IT/Network engineering before this. I just wanted a change.
Very nice. I was doing an IT degree as well but wanted to change like you. I haven’t been testing out the way you are. I’ve just been doing the PA exam then studying what I don’t know very well. After that I go for the Objective exam and pass.
@@RyanJander well I haven’t started yet. I actually have my entrance interview today in an hour or so. But yeah my goals are to test out of all general Ed classes and anything I feel I know enough about (intro courses, etc.) I’m super excited and nervous at the same time lol I have to figure out how I’m going to do it. Later today I’m going to put it all on paper and plan it. I think that’ll help me get in the right frame of mind instead of jumping in and not knowing how I’m going to do it yet. I’m definitely going to do what u said on the testing in the WHU courses themselves.
I think writing your plan out is smart! I think once you get things rolling with your degree you’ll see that there isn’t much to be nervous about. Are you just coming out of high school or have you been out of school for a while?
@@RyanJander no, I'm 38. 😆 It's been quite a while...lol. But idk, life happened, and I'm kinda just trying to get back where I need to be and move forward.
I understand. I just turned 30. Trust me, you’ll be able to knock out courses fast. A lot of them are just common sense that any intelligent adult would know. You can absolutely do this.
Good choice to start soon! I do have a list. I can see every class that I will be taking for this degree and once you enroll and pick a degree plan, you’ll be able to see every OA and PA you’ll need to take. Does that help?
Any updates; how much progress have you made towards completion? Also, did you have any credits that transferred from your previous major? I am close to finishing my Associates in Business Administration at my local community college and want to transfer after its completion or possibly right before. I'm 25 and wanting to find a decent accelerated program as an attempt to make up for lost time and find an entry level position quicker. Any help would be awesome!
Hey Ashton. So I'm 52% done with my bachelor's. I did had a few credits transfer from my other major as well and some credits from my military experience. You should look into WGU if you want to accelerate your degree. There are some useless classes but you can get them out if the way easily. Sounds like you're about halfway to a bachelor's right now. If you're disciplined enough to study at home on your own time, I'm confident that you can finish your bachelor's in about a year. Maybe less! Let me know if you need any other info please. And thank you for watching!
It's only taken me 1 year to get to my 3rd term. Each term is 6 months long. Signing up here as a veteran was very easy. You just need to make sure the VA and WGU have the required documentation.
I would suggest taking the PA for most classes right away and just studying the areas that you aren’t competent in. That way you can get classes done as fast as possible. A lot of college courses are just common sense and with a bit of reading and studying you’ll be passing classes fairly quickly
I also enrolled but I was looking at the requirements and it says I need a laptop for the recorded assessments. Do you think an iPad would be fine for daily assignments?
If you or someone you know receives SNAP/EBT, you can get free/discounted wifi and laptop. I pay $10 for Xfinity wifi and my laptop was $100. An iPad should be fine.
Just a heads up. Chromebooks are not allowed for the assessments. I am a current student. You can apply for the online access scholarship we have. T-Mobile sponsors it through our school
Hi there im starting in september for bachelors in healthcare admin.,Can you tell me how the classes are? Do you pick which classes you want to do first? Or do you just take the ones they give you? Is there a certain order?
Thank you for watching! So we have different programs but the classes are self-paced and if you study the material, you won’t have an issue with passing anything. There’s a ton of resources for each class you take and course instructors are happy to help you out anytime. You can sort of pick the classes you want to do first. I did this with my mentor before I started. You’ll get on the phone with your mentor and discuss what classes you should take in your first term. So if you want to move a history class to a later term, you can do that. Just talk to your mentor about it. There isn’t an order to taking classes although most classes will build on a previous class. For example, maybe you take a class on medical terminology and then another class in that same term might be anatomy and physiology. You’ll get the fundamentals in one class then more advanced info in the next. You can for sure mix your classes up though. But I don’t think you want to take a fundamental class and then take a more advanced class on that same topic in a much later term. Does that make sense?
Really thinking about starting this, do you think it will follow through construction management?
YES Absolutely!

It'll help you understand how decisions are made in the business world. I think it'll give you a decent set of tools to run your business.

Haha. I too agree on the HR class, it does have a lot to remember. Great video!
It does. Thanks for watching!
