Hi, what’s the drill attachment for / called? Thanks
Vacuum attachment
My apprentice used to drill fixed equipment Into courses.
Lovely scratch marks on the cable and cleats!
They're not cleats 🤦🏻♂️
He needs a poly mallet
Not bad for 30k
Need a laser level to follow a brick line ? ..
I’ve just spotted a 6mm twin and Earth cable outside the house inside capping up to 3m then just straight clipped to the outside of the wall for the shower. This comparison amused me somewhat. Good job the shower is now boiler fed so that can come out.
I never clip to the mortar joint it just fails too easily especially in old lime mortar
Dont drill in the brick unless you absolutley have too. Moisture gets more easily into the stone and when it gets cold, those bricks can break. Bit of mortar is easy to fill and skim. Cutting out 20 bricks is not.
@@Deiphobuzz but having a hole in the motor can lead to damp bricks in all the surrounding bricks so, drilling into the brick is so much easier, using the correct wall plug can delay that..
@@curtisrivers8302 just repeating what every bricky has ever told me.
You could use a dab of silicon
I would note that if it is a listed property drilling into brick/stone will get you into big trouble with English Heritage and the equivalent in Scotland/Wales. Basically, a mortar joint can be repointed a brick/stone cannot be easily replaced.
Literally marked/damaged the cables and the clips by using the wrong hammer.
He'll yeah unprofessional
Nah, literally no problem. It’s exterior not the Taj Mahal
🤣🤣🤣 shut up
what kinda hammer should be used. ?
I'm genuinely asking
@@finx2much rubber hammer
Marking with the measuring tape is really clever!
Always slam a delicate laser down onto a solid surface!
Where the sealer to stop water ingress to cavity
Or pull out of anchors
How deep do you think he drilled
How to turn an hours job into a full day job
Those clips are brilliant, used them when running a SWA to a garden building
What are rhey called? I need some. Never seen them in the netherlands.
The Linian clips look really tidy and are super easy to use…….. unless you have a change of mind and want to remove them. It’s impossible in spite of what they say about using carpenter’s pincers.
Close your eyes and pull.....or goggles lol
Nah but honestly
There is the 2 vice/clamp method
A free tip ... you never lean into a Hilti machine ... they are designed in combination with the bits ... to drill without extreme pressure on the back of the machine ... a one hand operation simple hold the machine firmly to prevent it from spinning around and apply just enough pressure to keep the bit moving forward ... this is something the rep should be sharing during the free demo ... how to use the machine correctly :(
Great tip thanks!
I thought you're suppose to use the brick and not the mortar.
To support load yes but otherwise why would you want to?
No silicone to prevent water intrusion? What if water inside that hole freezes?
There is absolutely no way those won’t slide straight out of there!
You don't need the impact function on just to drill mortar.
So what about the water that is now setting the the holes?
Not his problem.
' Linian Fire Rated Cable Clips ' you're welcome 😉
How to show a good products without selling it.
For perfect use a rubber mallet or hammer to reduce scratches and dents
Finally an electrician showing the proper tools and technique, keep up the good work
You don’t need a tape measure! Just count the mortar lines ! As long as you are within the minimum spacing for horizontal or vertical runs ! POP ! 👍🏼👌
you need the Matrix soundtrack when you put the glasses on! :)
Here in Australia we don't go to all that trouble. We just use tape and spray paint. Nobody can tell. Easy as mate. 👍
Do we now?
Don't like the mortar being drilled??
Give it a year that cable will be hanging off
Cable needs to have a slight ‘dog leg’ in it as it goes into the gland. This keep the cable perfectly straight as it enters the gland
This needed the top gun music
❤ that colour grading 😍😍
Love the fact you used both the handle and claw of that hammer for what they were never intended to be used as.
Yet, it is designed for that. Its not a construction hammer.
@@pikeyandclaire So you are saying that the handle and claw of a hammer were ment to be used to hammer in objects.Handles are meant to be held and claws remove nails.
Quality swedish workwear.
Great video. Thanks for your support Jordan 👏
Lol 😂😂😂😂😂
Do you not put something in the holes, especially the mortar to stop water ingress?? Like silicone or something like it
Yeah that made me nervous 😬
Naaa... the 30k bill wont cover silicone
Better than the old nylon cleats and plastic plugs
Oh bless you. It’s about time a video pops up of someone doing something with care....
its an advert, nobody would waste time doing this
@@SoSo-li6dn I 'waste' my time everyday as a remodel contractor delivering a premium product. I never had to advertise and I'm always 6-12 months out...
@@rjthomasindyusa whatever, but this is an advert, he got paid by someone for making this video, (it says paid promotion) he would never do it like that - you can tell because he is using a really expensive sds drill but he is going into the mortar with it lol.
Ive seen a sparky cut off a bit of cable and use that and a nail to make nail it on the joist...
Hey, Wouldn't that leave an opening for water to enter? It needs a sealing putty/clay.
I’d fill that with clear silicone first then tap it home or chance of water ingress
Conduit is a much cleaner and protective install.
I know it's not needed (haha yet) but an extra rubber slip on the clip would help out tremendously (obviously it's optional bur it would bring that little bit more relief I guess)
That's smart
He was doing really well until he started drilling into the mortar for fixings 🥺
10/10 for camera video quality
love it 👍
Avoid drilling the face of the brick, just in case of changes in the future.
Was the hearing protection really needed?
on the mortar joint must be the sparks mate haha
How well do them clips hold, never seen them before looks nice
Not very well into the morter haha
A lazer level for that haha
Nice,
Living up to the name as usual 🤩💚
nice🎉
Nice SDS that!
A sparky thats not messy you legend
There's a 30 grand job if ever i saw one
In germany we would use electrical conduit pipes
Amazing
If you see Hilt your either getting a premier tradesman or an expensive one. Or more likely both 😂❤
Pulls box out of square whilst doing it
What kind of drill was that ive never seen that one
Cute gloves
Step 1: Buy £200 Laser Level
Step 2: Buy £700 Hilti TE with £500 Drill Vac
Step 3: click off video
Real tidy job!🤑
Nice clips
Nice 👌
German here. My answer to this is : Nein!
The tension between the first clip and the stuffing gland is bigger than Russia/ukraine
Good that some bother to show a method like it or not
Really needed that laser 😂
Surely the holes need to be sealed? Otherwise water ingress and freeze/thaw cycles would make short work of it.
BRB going to go buy a Hilti and an electricians hammer because this video influenced me
That first horizontal marks just buggs me.... Just why lad?!
Let's see that in a Victorian house with lime mortar joints and soft London stock bricks...........an hour later still struggling to get the first clip to hols in place.
Choking the hammer too
I watch this stuff, and I look at the mess the electrician I hired left... and I cry
Like those clips
Great!
You forgot to give a little slack for warmer weather
What make of sds bit for red brick, any I use usually burnout ffs
Why not follow the course line, straight into the brickwork😢
Wowwww. Super neat finish.
Same bloke who wanted 30k for a rewire…. Start drilling mortar and your liable for water ingress 🙄
Sun glasses 4 drilling
That's nice and neatjordan
Thanks
Into brick that is. 👍
Lucky you've a cloudy day to see that laser
We use Conduit in Germany for almost all surface installations. The UK Way is not that nice
Do you think he's trying to compensate for something with that drill? 🤔
Great idea for measurement... Thumbs up! Cheers!
Thanks for watching!
Just follow the mortar joints. The reveal is all that matters
If only you guys worked around Hamshire!! Can’t even get an electrician to come out here let alone install an EV charger ! Ha ha
If you’re looking for a electricians in the Hampshire area I’d be happy to provide contact details to an EV approved installer that carries a registration as an approved NICEIC installer, CameSafe gate installer and Solar PV.
My god, all day doing it
Always drill into brick, not mortar
Anyone else think he looks like n older Ethan from Car Throttle?
Think you need a new pair of safety gloves mate👍🏼
Good lord, everything is too easy now!
We only had P clips, screws and Rawlplugs, no battery drill, it was either a 240 volt drill ior a Rawlplugs tool, when I was on the tools!
Yeah, we did transition to 110 volt tools and even a battery drill eventually, despite my boss being averse to spending so much money on a battery drill back in the 80's.
You can't beat the old raw plug tools for block work walls, I wish they still made them. We used to steal the 110v Bosch drill boxes and use them as a tool box.
Why not use mason lags and a stainless clip? Those little plastic tags are not going to hold up
What if you put some kind of sealing/expanding material in that hole to make it even stronger!
Surprisingly, it is really strong
Soft mallet please ur marking it all.. 30 grand he charged for that! 😂
I wonder where the circuit is fed from?….
I like 👍
But will it hold for +25 years...
