i've never seen a more unique person than Tyson. All of his success comes from a shitload of hardwork. Boxing...everyday. Every bit of fame he gets is earned. People act like they've forgotten about him. Like he's nothing special. He had THE style. Now he's just letting his name fade away.
tyson was one of the greatest heavyweights...he was that badass, angry guy that was hitting like a trunk and people loved him...he was what most wanna see...
Damn, this interview is amazing. It’s like sitting in on a therapy session with Mike. Michael Kay does a good job but the interview could’ve been even better if the show CenterStage was less constrained. When someone’s opening up the way Tyson did here, you gotta let that shit run free man. Great interview but missed opportunity to really hit the grand slam
Good interview, i admirer him but at the same time feel a little sad for him. He really didn't have anyone to help him after D'amato left earth. It's not easy to come from his background and all of a sudden be so famous. I'm glad he has his family to support him and give him lifejoy att his elderlys. God bless him!
@MrSpartan92 that's the very reason he was a great boxer... he has so much emotion but i've noticed that he can't even cry sometimes... that creates a lot of pressure in him, which he has to spend punching the bag
@socastar90 Completely agree with you . Mike Tyson was a phenomenally gifted boxer with a killer punch from either hand . Incredible defensive skills in his hay-day, and fast as hell . So exciting to watch and for many he is the best ever heavy-weight .
@martinhellfire85 Some people do, some people don't. I personally felt he was the best boxer in that particular era, but I think that particular era was one of the weaker eras of that century.
@JahLoveIsReal73 I agree with everything you said except feeling sad for him. I feel bad for the misfortunes he's encountered in years past but now, I feel very happy for him because he's on the straight and narrow, he's the family man he should've been all along, he's at peace with himself and doesn't have unecessary drama in his life and the man is in awesome shape and looking damn good. Compare him now to pics of him 2 years ago, it looks 2 completely different people.
i dont care what he has done, he has anger problems and alot of people have explosive anger and it has probably ruined their lives. Tyson is a good man
@TapOut1379 Very well said. Many people will condemn this man, instantly perceiving him to be as an crazy animal, but those people are the ignorant, judgmental types. These type of individuals are the ones quick to believe the media etc. Man, this guy is intelligent and although he may not be eloquent with his words, he says what he means and means what he says... He speaks from the heart truly. I hope all the best for him.
I DON'T THINK HE THINKS HE HAS TO APOLOGIZE. I think he through accountability and honesty You began to free yourself he is a father now and a older man., AND REAL MAN CAN NEVER BE TOO HONEST. MAYBE HUMANS LIE SO MUCH, WE HAVE TRAINED OUR MINDS NOT TO RESPECT TRUTH..OR WANT IT IN BABY AMOUNTS ONLY!
@bandit7498 i agree with you that fear and intimidation don't necessarily have to mean the same thing. I don't know if you are totally aware yet that Ali broke Foreman's spirit more so by not rematching him than upsetting him in Zaire. It is not necessary to consider that George was only 24 or 25 when he suddenly lost to Ali and this means that he was standing at the edge of his prime, but not yet so. Yes, wehave never witnessd GF in his absolute prime.
@luka03121992 His voice often breaks when he gets emotional and talks deeply. It's when he's struggling to control his emotions and you will see it alot when he talks about Cus D'amato. You should watch the Tyson documentary it's amazing.
@bandit7498 i almost agree with you, and would invite you to consider that everyone is or can be made fearful through hype. Ali as great as he was, nevertheless, displayed fear in the early rounds with Foreman, notice how he reacted when George swung at him in the first round, the issue is not FEAR itself, but OVERCOMING fear. Mike Tyson had an awesome marketing machine behind him in the 1980s and in most cases he defeated his opponent before the bell ever rang. Hype can do that!
@socastar90 he has no olympic gold medal, and Ali was the first 3-time champion (Tyson is "just" 2-time champion anyway)...BUT one of the the greatest, and my fav boxer!
Mike Tyson was uneasily at first, which is understandable because already how people look at him. Once you hear him talk, he's not the animal that people presumably think he is. Don't judge a book by it's cover people
@MrScottydabody Fact: Ali wasn't in his prime either when he fought Foreman. Also fact, Ali was forced into retirement as he was just entering his prime. So it's safe to say we never saw the best of Ali either. Dundee himself said we never saw the best of Ali. A heavyweight's prime is usually between 27 and 32 years of age. So who knows. As far as the rematch goes, Foreman was scheduled for a rematch and then he lost to Young. Ali never said no to a rematch. Foreman quit after the Young fight.
He had said he went out partying with Jay Bright after the Berbick fight, I believe... But how was that possible if Kevin Rooney was his trainer at the time? Jay didn't come into his camp til '89...
@leave12 damato built his confidence and his defence.. when he went, died. It took evertyhting from ali,his repect for defence boxers and him self,, but now he can only try to recover to get respect, but not as a boxer
@MrScottydabody You make some interesting points. But in his prime Ali was never intimidated by ANY man. If Sonny Liston didn't intimidate him, Mike Tyson wouldn't have. Ali NEVER showed any signs of being intimidated until the Holmes fight. He put on a lot of pomp before the bell rung, but you could see it in his eyes when Holmes got in the ring. Every fighter has fear. Prime against prime Ali had no equal. Frazier never faced a prime Ali.
@thetito626 its not what someone says, does etc even everyone can act nice,Its the vibe, the energy of the person, use perspicacity, feel things. When you're in any place, pick up the vibrations of people around you,you can tell a lot about people..Read the energy coming out of this person....know what i mean??
Mike was one of the greatest. After Rooney left you could tell he was elsewhere. Even Rooney recognised that Givens was draining him. Legend Mike Tyson.
u can tell when he talks bout cus d amato, MIKE always break down!!!...he sure miss dat GREAT MAN..smdh!!!,,,IRON MIKE RULES, nobaddy can BLAST like him!
@bluewhale18 Well, no, not really. He was once considered the best in the world, so by definition, it's not possible to underrate him as a boxer. As for you saying he's overrated as a human being, that's also flawed. Few people, given such power at a young age, are able to exercise such humility upon reflection.
I understand that you like Ali and I like him too. As you consider that Ali was 32 when he fought GF you can not say that he is old and washed up, he may not have been as sharpe, but that is on Ali for not training to be sharp. Actually, 32 puts him at the tail end of his physical prime. The bottom line is Ali did not want any parts of GF in a rematch, and I can't say I blame him.
@thetito626 met him is one thing, know him is another,im reading his vibe, his energy.Anybody can be polite on a good day.but you can sense that this person's basic character is not good,i actually sense it....
@veeseee128 i agree that ali would have beaten mike the majority of time throughout their careers, but at their very peak, i believe ali would have been intimidated by mike and that means that ali may not have been able to get the best out of himself if he was afraid. mike is a lot faster, stronger, skillfull than frazier, i do not believe that tyson heart is as big as joe's, but i don't know if any other fighter except george foreman would be able to expose it when tyson was at his best.
@MrScottydabody I never said Ali didn't feel fear. He readily admitted n several occasions that he was scared to death of Sonny Liston. I said he wasn't INTIMIDATED. There is a difference. But I gotta say I didn't see that fear you're talking about against Foreman. Concern maybe but not fear. So consider that Ali faced two of the most feared heavyweights in boxing history and not only was he able to beat them convincingly, he broke their spirits through and through. My guess, same with Tyson.
@leave12 well i have no intentions of arguing with you, for the pure fact that A tyson is my role model, B tyson was the reason i became a boxer, C i'm going pro in a few months, D I don't think there is anyone who has studied Tyson more than i have, and finaly before the douglas fight he was 39-0 in the heavy weight devision... that speaks for itself but don't get the idea of me trying to argue with you because i just simply don't care... i like TYSON and CUS D'AMATO... nothing can change that.
his been through it all... his an older wise man now, his crazy youth years are over... people did fuck him over, which is why he was so angry all the time i guess
At :44 interviewer Michael Kay says to Mike Tyson of mentor Cus D'Amato (069-16-1199): "This was the guy who was leading you". Kay's tone reminded me of the Oct. 8, 1988 season premiere of NBC's "Saturday Night Live" with host Tom HANKs, musical guest Keith Richards. Bush-Dukakis Debate sketch has JONATHAN “Jon” Lovitz as Mike Dukakis saying: “I can't believe I'm losing to this guy!”. LovITz turned 34 two days after Tyson raped DesiREE Washington in an INDIANAPOLIS hotel room. Unrelated: 851614
every interview iv seen mike tyson in, he cries everytime he talks about cus... he misses him soo much! thats love!
I.chi with himmm
damn man, you can really see how much Mike loved Cus D'amato, in every interview I see, everytime Cus is mentioned Tyson starts breakin down.
from 85 to 89 this guy was the most awesome fighter on earth,i remember it well..
i've never seen a more unique person than Tyson. All of his success comes from a shitload of hardwork. Boxing...everyday. Every bit of fame he gets is earned. People act like they've forgotten about him. Like he's nothing special. He had THE style. Now he's just letting his name fade away.
Every time Mike mentions Cus he almost let tears.
all that pain he holds in his voice brakes my heart it really fucking does because ino that feeling :(
@just2fly10
Of course. He was his mentor, best friend and practically his father.
Cus was basically his father. No matter where he's interviewed .. if anyone brings up Cus or his relationship with Cus he gets choked up
tyson was one of the greatest heavyweights...he was that badass, angry guy that was hitting like a trunk and people loved him...he was what most wanna see...
Damn, this interview is amazing. It’s like sitting in on a therapy session with Mike. We can learn so much from him, very honest and open !!! I wish him well !!!! His a great man !!!
What an awesome interview. I was mesmerised the entire time.
Good interview, i admirer him but at the same time feel a little sad for him.
He really didn't have anyone to help him after D'amato left earth.
It's not easy to come from his background and all of a sudden be so famous.
I'm glad he has his family to support him and give him lifejoy att his elderlys.

I love Mike tyson hes so emotional, intelligent, heart of a lion but humble like a lamb,
@MrSpartan92 that's the very reason he was a great boxer... he has so much emotion but i've noticed that he can't even cry sometimes... that creates a lot of pressure in him, which he has to spend punching the bag
Mike Tyson is a clever boy. He has reeally grown up! I like him very much! Good Luck Mike!
Fantastic interview. Mike is an interesting guy. I wish him well in the future. From 85-91 he was special.
Mike Tyson is a legend. So honest and I just wish I could get the chance to meet him.
i respect mike, sometimes he cant express himself but he's one of the greats
beautiful man.
im so glad he is gettinthe recognition he deserves. MUCH LOVE TYSON!! I WANNA MEET YOU!!!
Tyson is a Legend people should respect that, I hope he can find piece & stay away from the garbage
@socastar90 Completely agree with you . Mike Tyson was a phenomenally gifted boxer with a killer punch from either hand . Incredible defensive skills in his hay-day, and fast as hell . So exciting to watch and for many he is the best ever heavy-weight .
Incredible
"Kick his ass for me." Oh man, who wouldn't be inspired by that.
this is the best interview he has ever done
6:00 if there is any anti drugs speech to be followed then this is one of the most real and raw ones
he is the best ever lived!
tyson with jacobs and rooney backing him is undefeated this tysonw ill be undefeated forever till the end of time...the real tyson
Mike Tyson's a Great Man & a Living Legend.
He is an awesome man!!! keep it up Mr. Tyson!
The GREATEST EVER!!!
@MrPs3Addict You are so right. Mike is honest, the guy is real.
GREAT VID MAN
One of my fav peoples.
Wow, Mike has a big vocabulary. He doesn't speak like a normal person he uses different words not normally uses in everyday talk.
Greatest boxer ever!
after listening to this interview i think Mike Tyson is a very intelligent man!
@martinhellfire85 Some people do, some people don't. I personally felt he was the best boxer in that particular era, but I think that particular era was one of the weaker eras of that century.
respect him so much now.
wow i love u mike!!!
one thing i'll say about tyson at least he is honest.about himself and about what has happen to him.i can't say i like him though.
Anyone knows where it is possible to see full interview?
I think Mike Tyson is quite incredible. 💖✌🏽👍
@TapOut1379 great speech !!

Mike Tyson. FUCKIN respect!! The baddest, straight up , no nonsense man alive. And can still knock motherfuckers out
@luka03121992 His voice often breaks when he gets emotional and talks deeply. It's when he's struggling to control his emotions and you will see it alot when he talks about Cus D'amato.

Mike Tysons been doing alot of stuff lately! when was this?
Cus gave Mike tough love and groomed him to be the champ and a man.
Boxing vs KickBoxing, which one is more fun to watch and which one is on a higher level
i think everytime tyson talks hes either about to cry or to freak out and beat up the host lmao
Mike touch so many lifes, well some of them ended on the floor but that was part of his job
Mike Tyson was uneasily at first, which is understandable because already how people look at him. Once you hear him talk, he's not the animal that people presumably think he is. Don't judge a book by it's cover people
Wheres the next part
@leave12 Well said, such a good comment. The one thing I would disagree on, is the comment about him being overrated as a boxer.
@MrScottydabody Fact: Ali wasn't in his prime either when he fought Foreman. Also fact, Ali was forced into retirement as he was just entering his prime. He had said he went out partying with Jay Bright after the Berbick fight, I believe... But how was that possible if Kevin Rooney was his trainer at the time? Jay didn't come into his camp til '89...
When he starts to cry damn makes me sad
@just2fly10 he always does that ...everytime..that part comes up.
@BSayket but the confessing part is a trait of his honesty obviously thats how he feels, otherwise he wouldnt be so honest right?
@renegado454 > I totally agree with you, what i meant is that you can see he carry's much pain inside!!
@leave12 damato built his confidence and his defence.. when he went, died. It took evertyhting from ali,his repect for defence boxers and him self,, but now he can only try to recover to get respect, but not as a boxer
@socastar90 You've got it dead on mate . Nice one
@weirdcitykid watch the documentary, Tyson, real good

@just2fly10 He basically became his father, only one in his life he could actually depend on.

mike is yhe best boxer of all time
Mike tyson 2020
Mike was one of the greatest. After Rooney left you could tell he was elsewhere. Even Rooney recognised that Givens was draining him. Legend Mike Tyson.

@porchmember ha ha see him slow down as he sneeks it out
I understand that you like Ali and I like him too. @HandsOfSugar klitsco would be allowd to hold so much that(at this stage)tyson would suffer!! ......mid 90s to everly 80s mike kills everybody !!!

I think he looked in his best shape when he fought Tony Tucker ! he chased him around the ring all fight TT ducked out on him!
@just2fly10 so fucking true!
@Gurkhabrat Is he your father?

@veeseee128 caz u think Ali was much faster than Mike?
is this interview from 2010?
his been through it all... his an older wise man now, his crazy youth years are over... people did fuck him over, which is why he was so angry all the time i guess
