- Peter Kay’s huge gig opening Manchester’s brand new Co-op Live arena has been cancelled.
The highly-anticipated show was due to open the city’s flagship 23,500-capacity venue, the largest in the UK, on Tuesday, April 23. A second gig planned for the following day (April 24) has also been cancelled.
On Monday (April 22), it was announced that both shows had been cancelled with work not yet complete on the venue, based in Eastlands and next to the Etihad stadium. The council's building control is also yet to sign the building off.
Both Peter Kay shows will be rescheduled for next Monday and Tuesday (April 29 and 30).

I've heard the Lidl version is better, and half the price
Outstanding.
So they got rick Ashley there to test it out
If the venue is anything like their online and banking app
It will fall over ever other day lol
Everything the coop name touches turns to shxt
Shouldn’t they be promoting smaller local venues to bring on grassroots performers instead of places like this that pander to hasbeen egos and groupthink mentality?
Peter Kay's best joke is booking gigs and cancelling them at short notice. It was hilarious the first time, but it's getting a bit old now. No loss, though.
Got to be honest I saw him at the O2 He was awful. Wish it had been cancelled
Peter Kay is great
