Professor, Can i do Hierarchial cluster analysis, using 4 individual Likert items (each measured on a 5 point scale). These 4 items assess attitude of respondent, and they constitute a single latent variable, in my study.
Practically, the question would be, why not. The variables share the same scale levels and are measured on the same type of scale. So from this perspective no problems persist. I would however ask why you did not want to use an exploratory factor analysis since I see the aim of your analysis in generating a latent variable.

Usually factor analysis of any kind would be the go to solution for this type of issue. If you still want to go with cluster analysis, in the main dialog you can switch from cases to variables. This will allow you to cluster your items.
