You don't have a lead off problem. You have Rice already up Vivas to replace JD and Durbin not on the 40 that would be better than anyone else on the team . Any of those 3. Now all you need is management to get the heads out of...
What are you talking about? Rice has been good for 5 minutes…even if that persists he doesn’t profile as a lead off bat. The lineup is a complete disaster outside of two dudes. “Any of those 3” being better proves my point.
Look at what we have become....instead of 3 to 4 hours of mike on the radio taking calls its a 20-30 minute slug.... then everyone doesn't have to wait on hold for their comments and we can all just let fly.........is this better, idk
The Yankees haven't had a legitimate leadoff hitter in more than a decade, even Jeter who often batted leadoff, was not a true leadoff hitter, knoblauch in his prime was, Johnny Damon was, Henderson being perhaps the greatest leadoff hitter of all time. But let's face it, the Yankees have non-productive, non-Major League bats at virtually every spot in the lineup after the 4th spot, when Stanton returns. Currently there are only two professional and dependable bats in the lineup, in Soto and Judge. The Yankees have some difficult financial decisions looming. DJ has several years remaining on an absolutely untradeable contract, because he has zero value and no one would trade for him. He is playing as though he is still injured or very old. Rizzo was bad offensively and defensively when healthy, so what can you really expect from him. The Yankees really need to DFA DJ. Grisham, Jones, Torres, Verdugo must be traded or released. I have seen enough of Verdugo, he is way too light a hitter to garner a corner outfield position. Stanton usually takes 3-4 weeks to get his timing and swing back, so the best we can hope is that Stanton walks often and because of his presence, opposing pitchers begin pitching to Judge and Soto again. Anyone believing you could win in the post season with Clay Holmes closing is delusional.
